  1. Now coming to the extended kernel, Qt 6 application support: The kerning issues happen even on NT 6.4. I will look into that as well, but there is also some more work to do to get Qt 6.3.1 and later working as well.

  2. I've now done another clean install. I confirm @mina7601's findings. I never tried enabling the proxy system-wide without the proxy already running, as I assumed that wouldn't work anyway. It should run the proxy if isn't running of course! The setup doesn't seem to add the path to the files to the PATH environment variable. I assume it's not needed. I'm not sure why I had an entry for it there, I guess I added it manually for some reason. I doubt that @heinoganda's version of the proxy needed it, but I'm not certain of that.

  3. You're very welcome and that solid faith in God I believe is what gives you strength, not only to recover from illness, but to be a good kind human being. I wish everyone had faith and didn't use their faith as a weapon, not what the bible teaches, if you believe in Jesus, he only asked 1 thing, that you love him and put your fears and anguish in his hands ... certainly not too much to ask. I DO think its healthy to believe in higher power beyond just this existence or perception. I think (most) all would agree this is just a shell and YOU are more than skin and bones, and our energy, aura, love are your soul all make up the spirit, what is you. I think even folks that are not religious can at least agree that faith and action (God helps those whom help themselves) we can overcome and endure. I will write more later, but wanted to at least respond and will work on the isolation thing. Will continue to work on that, and appreciate your advice but I can't actually have a pet here, against the rules when I reside. I live in housing for folks with disabilities some are much worse than I, not everyone are able and some come and go here in only a few weeks or a month from group homes. People have also passed away and I'm so isolated I didn't even know other then I'd not see 'so and so' in a while and asked or was told. I don't know the future (for me or anybody) there is promises, but today I need to focus on and improve, we all start right now.

  4. I'm glad @mina7601, it's also very enlightening for me, this "Stop the fear" article. Cool, thank you to read these excerpts and article "What Is ADHD? ..." I didn't know about this... YES @sunryze, I'm serious here... Meet the priest, on a human level, they are really wise, you don't have to talk about religion with him, if you don't want. You wrote: "ADHD is really well known. The overall basis of it is unstable dopamine levels. Fast produced in euphoric situations, but easily depleted. Kind of like a 1970s muscle car with a 1 gallon fuel tank. It causes me to be very happy easily but also really down easily. " - So I suggest you stay happy! Adopt one (or two) cats, if you want, and you'll see...you'll be infinitely happy, day and night! ..loving presence, that's it. I'm serious. Foreword - by Jane Goodall: What have animals ever done for us?: https://www.rspca.org.uk/whatwedo/latest/essays/foreword Who can adopt a rescue animal? 11 common myths debunked: https://www.rspca.org.uk/-/who-can-adopt-a-rescue-animal-10-common-myths-debunked-1 Surely to break isolation, is much preferable to meet people in our own surroundings, in real, not on the web. And cats are very clever at breaking the isolation. @XPerceniol: Always heartfelt thanks to you for the enlightening thoughts you are giving to us! Thank you very much! Thank you all!

  5. I got the "Fix4" link from another beta tester. In process of testing now...

  6. Yes, that all works fine. EnableProxSysWide.exe v3.0.0.0 is now starting the proxy if it's not running. I know it's not really an installation, being pedantic, because there's no packaged installer, but what else do you call it? A deployment? People do talk about 'portable installations'.

  7. Which version of Configure PopMenu.exe did you use? The version 3.1.0.0 is faulty. Use the new one in version 3.2.0.0!

  8. My dear beta testers, @Dave-H, @mina7601, @NotHereToPlayGames! Two programs had to be fixed, the program Configure PopMenu.exe by cleaning its code in regards to the space bug, and the program EnableProxSysWide.exe which incorrectly calls the old start program ProxHTTPSProxy_PSwitch.exe instead of StartProxy.exe. I'll send you the download link of the fixed versions via PM as usual in the next minutes. Please, check if they work properly! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  10. In Deviantart.com the main culprit for it being so sloooowwwwwwww is something called "static.parastorage.com." Problem is, without it the site acts as if on an older browser. You cannot Comment, Reply, the site is a weird mess, etc. I contacted the Deviantart staff about the fact Notes are not working. They said I'm using an outdated browser. I told them I was using Firefox 100. The reply to that? Firefox 100 is indeed outdated as now it's...Firefox 102. Ooooo, didn't know my version was so ancient. I'm convinced. There really is a weird conspiracy to make the Internet a miserable frustrating experience. Or maybe it's "Idiocracy," which in turn was based on a 1951 short story called "The Marching Morons." I honestly don't know any longer, but the Internet did work much better in 2010 than now.

  11. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that today I managed to get Windows Update v3 to check for updates. Unfortunately, they do not install. Some files are missing and therefore the correct updates are not shown. I have renamed similar files to see if there is a search at all. The bad news is that it is difficult to get all the files for the old Windows versions and the download links are also missing, so no updates can be installed. Here's a little insight into Windows Update v3:

  12. I will do that, although I'm a bit busy at the moment, so it will be later today. I assume do it with the latest 'fixed' versions of all the files.

  13. Sometimes computers and tech are a good distraction(s) if you enjoy and learn. Just wanted to say (for the record) ... yay on your new record, and don't think you are/were the only one changing your computer around. Don't forget, we love to tweak our computers. Is why we are here. People wake up at 3AM in the morning because they are beta testing new programs, is what gives us purpose. Computers that just work 'out of the box' ... too boring for me. Win 10 21H2 seems to be logical choice, btw, look how long we are using legacy os systems on here with great passion. I'm getting ready to settle in and make some tea and (try to) relax, yeah, not always easy with anxiety as you know. Hard to unwind the mind. Ha! Please don't feel as you need to disclose anything you aren't comfortable with and while you are MORE THAN welcome to share anything you want (at all regarding anything) or even to vent or anything, this thread was mainly as I didn't want to open the cafe again, but I changed my mind and am glad I did so. While there are bad memories in there (that thread), I didn't feel just pretending they didn't happen was the answer and I needed to face it head on and sometimes hard to revisit bad memories but better to turn something bad into something good. I'm learning in progress. I haven't figured out life any more than anyone else trying/seeking; we are all just trying to survive. Each time life throws us a curve ball, we dust ourselves off and keep trying. Just don't stay down for too long all I'm saying - perk up and hang on to it. You all could see when I "ran" away from the thread, I have my low and weak moments, I'm nothing special. Its was actually my good man @msfntor that helped me to start a thread and I am grateful to have his support, because he came back just in time to help me. We all didn't find ourselves here by accident as there are no accidents. Your opening up has helped me and no doubt others out there with like struggles. Like @mina7601 wrote, "Sometimes, life can be unfair." for if not for our obstacles we learn and they make us stronger. No angel or saint and I've certainly contributed to me being in this position. All-in-all ... all things considered, I'm also doing better and hope dark days become less and less for all of us. Life is hard, but so worth it!

  14. The api-set DLLs that are supplied as part of the OS as opposed to being distributed with the VC++ runtime are tied to apisetschema.dll, and will not function unless apisetschema is updated to reference the api-set and the redirections it makes. Wine has a solution for it, but it involves its own apisetschema iirc and it may not be suitable for Windows. Most of the functions exported from the DLL exist in earlier versions of Windows (think NT 4 or 5; only a few are actually exclusive to 7 or 8), so a traditional export-forward DLL is better suited to OSes from the pre-api-set era. If your application only uses functions that are present in your version of Windows, this DLL will work fine; if they're missing, the application will try calling a null pointer and crash, which a good debugger will pick up. 15. After applying MinWin, some applications using .NET Framework do not start. Here's something like a "solution". You need to copy (or extract with 7zip) entire "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET" folder from the original wim/esd image to your running MinWin Windows. (to the same folder). You will have a complete .NET Framework in this case. Then you need to launch all the .NET Framework applications you need, MINIMIZE them (do not close them), and delete entire "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET" folder. Windows won't allow you to delete files that applications need (because they are used now). You will get something like mini .NET Framework. In my case 77 mb and 64 files. BUT some features in .NET apps won't work. You need to find dependencies for these applications and add libraries for them (dll files).
