  1. Ok, i finally figured out what this number means, after working with SSD on Windows 7. This number means size of data space between the start of physical disk and start of logical disk on SSD that you selected in AS SSD. So if you install windows 7 on empty un-partitioned SSD it will create first 500 MB service logical disc for win 7 needs, and then System C. Thus why you will have number counting in KB this 500MB logical disk before System C. And if you created, say, 60GB System C, and selected for test logical Disk D in AS SSD - it will show number in KB of "500MB logical disk PLUS System C".

  4. Since the Firefox root certificate expiration on March 14, the addon tab now looks like this : (at least I think that is the cause) Manually downloading updated versions and dragging them into this tab still works. @feodor2 Could Mypal be compiled with the new certificates? Are the relevant certificates here in the source tree of Mypal? The `addons-public.crt` in there says this: Certificate: Data: Version: 3 (0x2) Serial Number: 1 (0x1) Signature Algorithm: sha384WithRSAEncryption Issuer: C = US, O = Mozilla Corporation, OU = Mozilla AMO Production Signing Service, CN = root-ca-production-amo Validity Not Before: Mar 17 22:53:57 2015 GMT Not After : Mar 14 22:53:57 2025 GMT Subject: C = US, O = Mozilla Corporation, OU = Mozilla AMO Production Signing Service, CN = root-ca-production-amo Subject Public Key Info: Public Key Algorithm: rsaEncryption Public-Key: (4096 bit) ---<snip>--- Can be checked with openssl like this: openssl x509 -in addons-public.crt -inform DER -text BTW, current Firefox certificates are in .pem format and are located in `./security/manager/ssl`. Could the relevant ones be put in the source tree of Mypal and recompile? They may have to be converted to .crt: Windows .bat file to do that for all .pem files in current directory: @echo off for %%i in (*.pem) do ( openssl x509 -outform der -in "%%i" -out "%%~ni.crt" ) Mozilla's current `addons-public.crt` will then be valid until Dec. 3 2200. Data: Version: 3 (0x2) Serial Number: 1 (0x1) Signature Algorithm: sha384WithRSAEncryption Issuer: C = US, O = Mozilla Corporation, OU = Mozilla AMO Production Signing Service, CN = root-ca-production-amo Validity Not Before: Feb 1 00:00:00 2024 GMT Not After : Dec 3 00:00:00 2200 GMT Subject: C = US, O = Mozilla Corporation, OU = Mozilla AMO Production Signing Service, CN = root-ca-production-amo Subject Public Key Info: Public Key Algorithm: rsaEncryption Public-Key: (4096 bit)

  5. Maybe it have something to do with DNS servers in browser? Maybe you need to change your DNS servers? Musk is Ketamine addicted junkie. As smart man once said: Never trust a junkie!

  6. "Add-ons that can change your browser's settings without your consent or steal your information have become increasingly common." You don't say! lol. "Wolves that can attack you in the nearest forest without your consent or steal your head have become increasingly angry." You don't say! lol. Didn't even bother to write smth more alluring and catchy... Just a "polite" excuse to force everyone to install from their store, like Opera did somewhere in 2018. But then again, I always wonder who would dig into such crap, who? That's why D.Draker doesn't bother with "secure" updates.

  7. Very strange. Never had any crashes with this release. All Python related modules were ported by me from @cmalex's ProxyMII (20220717) release. Check my main article under the sections 8.3.1 and 9.3! As I said, no problems here with these releases on my Windows XP computer. And you are the very first who reported such issues Did you install it by following my instructions? Maybe, you should completely remove it and perform a reinstallation. Is there anything else in your system which might interfere with the Python modules?

  9. Even more important would be applying relevant security fixes from Mozilla (like Moonchild does), otherwise using this browser is Russian Roulette.

  10. Updating the embedded root certificates of Mypal 68 is of course a very good idea and important for using this browser in the future.

  11. I never pin tabs. I also never "install" Supermium. In addition, *NONE* of my browsers are ever launched "as-provided", they all get their own 'portable launcher'. None of my browsers are allowed access to OS registry and cannot read/write outside their own directory/sub-directory. If you've never pinned tabs, you may have something else going on.

  12. I have not witnessed this but I do not "pin" tabs. That bit of detail was KEY to this and nobody seems to have cited that tabs were being PINNED. So my curiousity would be this - does the issue self-correct if you UNPIN the tabs, exit and relaunch, then PIN them again?

  14. Even if the add-ons were signed and approved by the overlords at Mozilla or Google or whoever, I would still expect them to be stealing information. Having something be digitally signed makes no difference to me.

  17. No, but you can do that with a switch. I use a launcher to run Supermium on XP, and its INI file contains the necessary switch. --user-data-dir="D:\Program Files\Supermium\User Data" You can also, of course, just add it to the shortcut you use to run the program. The disadvantage of that, I found, is that you need to add it to all the places in the registry that the program is run from too. I found the launcher solution much easier, as you just run the launcher from the registry and from the shortcut, and the switches are then automatically applied. If you need to change them, you can just change them in the launcher's INI file, and job done!

  18. The creator has already cited at GitHub that he is returning to normal defaults. I doubt that he will release an updated v126, but v132 will be back to normal defaults.

  19. The creator of Supermium enabled it because users at the time requested it ( read here ) in order to be able to log into "Twitch" (whatever that is).

  20. It doesn't, right, but the question was rather making the accent on whether "normal" Chromes are affected overall.

  21. From work, I can only report on the latest official Edge v134 - which "should" be the same exact behavior as official Chrome v134. I could check in an official Chrome v134 if really needed, but I would rather not have to spend that much more time on this, to be honest. 24. Why do I report here in terms of my ytBatch for Windows XP mod? I have decided to make my mod available for all users. Since YouTube Downloaders compatible with Windows XP are rather rare and ytBatch is simply great, everyone should be able to download YouTube video or audio files in Windows XP. Especially when such great releases are made available by @nicolaasjan. Everything can be set in ytBatch for a very individualised media download. And ytBatch is very light in consuming resources and very fast. When my test phase is finished, I will publish ytBatch for Windows XP here in this thread. Greetings from Germany, AstroSkipper

  25. It's bigger than that! The "problem" is that the author set a flag to ENABLE EXPERIMENTAL features to make v126 compatible with web sites requiring v13x. But then KEPT that EXPERIMENTAL flag ENABLED in v132 (enabling EXPERIMENTAL features that will not become stable/vetted/good until v135, or v138, or v140, etc). THIS IS A PROBLEM for folks thinking their browser is "secure" because these EXPERIMENTAL features are designated as EXPERIMENTAL for a reason!

  26. FYI, an update check of @Reino's ffmpeg SSE release is not necessary in ytBatch since his ffmpeg 7.1-2362 SSE release is the very last one. Unfortunately, his old Pentium 3 SSE AMD Athlon XP 3200+ computer has died which prompted him to stop creating new releases. This can be read here: https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=2014523#post2014523 Therefore, my ytBatch for Windows XP mod downloads this last ffmpeg 7.1-2362 SSE release if it does not exist, and that was it. All that means ytBatch for Windows XP only looks for updates in terms of itself and @nicolaasjan's yt-dlp/youtube-dl releases if triggered by the user. However, an update of ytBatch for Windows XP itself should only be done manually otherwise my modifications will be overwritten mercilessly.

  27. Supermium author changed the naming of an internal flag and also changed its default state. This is only in Supermium v126 R6 and higher. So all Supermium versions beginning with v126 R6 behave *DIFFERENTLY* than all other v126 and higher for *ALL OTHER* Chrome/Chromium forks. This causes *great confusion* for anybody UPGRADING and keeping a profile from R5 or older. Especially if that profile sets/unsets this flag. The UPGRADED profile now has this flag doing the OPPOSITE of why the user set/unset it in the first place. Most importantly - this is Supermium Only. Users that set flags now have to comb through all of their flags to see if the Supermium Author now has it doing the OPPOSITE of all other Chrome/Chromium Forks "on the planet". Unless, of course, those forks don't fork from upstream but fork from Supermium directly (I have not checked nor tried any forks of Supermium, if they do exist).

  29. Additionally, I filled my second post in this thread with some recommendations for YouTube Downloaders still working under Windows XP (and presumably under Windows Vista, too) and updated the content. Originally, I posted it in @roytam1's browser thread and created this thread short time later. Now, it is in the right place to find it quickly if necessary. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  30. Great news about 3D Youtube Downloader 3D Youtube Downloader has been updated to the version 1.22.2. Starting with this version or one before, this downloader now uses the awesome yt-dlp provided by @nicolaasjan. Unfortunately, they forgot to add some credits to him and a link to his GitHub page. That is a no-go and has of course to be corrected as soon as possible. Because the same applies as always: Honor to whom honor is due. At this point, I say once again thanks to @nicolaasjan! Cheers, AstroSkipper

  31. @tinman2000 If you had read the last posts of this thread carefully, you would have noticed that Cloudflare does not work in Mypal 68 at the moment. No solutions, no suggestions. Maybe, one of the next Mypal 68 releases will successfully run these superfluous challenges. But I wouldn't count on that. Thanks to Cloudflare!

  33. It hasn't been rebased. Rebasing wasn't a thing back when I used NM27 and NM28. Technically, nowadays I am in the camp where ALL of these UXP-Based browsers are nothing but a "trip down memory lane" and NOT TO BE USED FOR "EVERYDAY BROWSING". Yeah, they're "fun" to have around. But so is a fish tank with a piranha. Here is with only the xul.dll rebased. NOT MUCH BETTER in my opinion. I no longer use UXP and no longer use XP - but this is MSFN and we're all supposed to be diehard XP fans for the next thirty years - sorry, NOT ME, "been there, done that".

  35. Why don't you use GPU-Z to find out. Also, did you buy this new on ebay? Why? There is ton of original super-cheap used AGP videocards on used market. Like Radeon X800GTO\XL\XT or Geforce 6800\GT\Ultra. So why buy this? The original Radeon 9700 PRO have 256 bit memory by the way.

  36. Thanks for your report! But you are using the SSE version, and it can't be directly compared to mine. But maybe, I'm the only one who has the problem with the automatic start of the Browser Console. I'm curious what @roytam1 has to say about it. In any case, there is a problem with the Browser Console in the most recent version of New Moon 28 which wasn't there before.
    1 point
  37. Thanks for your report! I totally forgot to mention this issue. Same problem in my installation. Once opened and closed then, the Browser Console can't be opened again. So, I can confirm your observation. But it is very annoying that the Browser Console opens automatically every time the browser is started as soon as it is called up just once.
    1 point
  38. Hello @roytam1! I am running your latest version of New Moon 28 installed from the file palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240127-d849524bd-uxp-35252384aa-xpmod.7z. When opening the Browser Console (Ctrl + Shift + J) and closing then, it will open automatically every time you start the browser again. I have tried everything possible, but this stupid Browser Console now has a life of its own. That seems to me to be an issue that wasn't there before. I noticed this issue in my dirty profile but even in a clean profile, the same issue happens. Maybe, you can reproduce and hopefully fix it.

  39. No problem! But the proof is in the pudding, and we all know that, right? BTW, all YouTube Downloaders based on the files yt-dlp.exe and/or youtube-dl.exe you can download in these days contain versions of these files which are no longer XP-compatible. That leads to such an error message "yt-dlg.exe is not a valid Win32 application". Therefore, such versions have to be replaced by your XP-compatible releases for using under Windows XP.
