There used to be a setting in one's profile to "hide" one's country flag (the default being to display the flag); see this past post of mine ; "Country-flag" related previous thread (now LOCKED) in this forum: https://msfn.org/board/topic/181239-missing-country-flags-under-members-avatars/ Currently, no flag settings at all inside my profile ; FWIW, the flag resources are still there in "their place" ; dearest @xper , would it be at all possible to reinstate this MSFN feature, please (and those members who are secretive can always hide their country of origin) ? ... Country flags are reason for template errors. Disabled for now. Waiting on developer.

My main reason for going to 126 was that my understanding is that it's an ESR version, which will hopefully not actually need to be updated due to site compatibility issues until sometime next year. I will only update it if a new facility that I really want is added, or a really major serious security flaw is patched.

Today, I have found a way to toggle all my CSS stylesheets in the chrome folder without restarting the browser by a mighty user script. So, no need anymore to use the Disable Transitions extension. From now on, I'll toggle all my CSS files via this script.

I assume you found the CSS code here: https://superuser.com/questions/1224596/disable-css-animations-on-firefox If injected via userContent.css without any modifications which means using the CSS code globally, i.e. for all websites, it indeed works even with the "initial" CSS keyword. However, I had tested the code only on ebay.de by using @-moz-document url or @-moz-document domain, and this didn't work for me. In Mypal 68, I installed the extension Disable Transitions created by the author of the CSS code you found. Works absolutely great. To only use this code on eBay websites, enabling and disabling the extension is now my strategy, since this CSS code has negative effects on other sites as for example MSFN. In New Moon 28, I use the Stylem extensions to apply the CSS code. Even in this browser, I can successfully apply the code only globally and not locally. But with Stylem, you can quickly switch stylesheets on and off. So, problem solved for now.

In the case of New Moon 28, you are right, but Mypal 68 and Thorium have not been updated since the bookmark was saved. By the way, in the CSS code you previously posted as a fix, only the "initial" keyword is present. The "initial" CSS keyword applies the initial (or default) value of a property to an element. Nothing more. To stop animations or transitions, there is actually the need of the "none" CSS keyword.

Long story short. eBay websites (at least here in Germany) which worked fine some weeks or months ago must have recently changed, and their new layout is not pleasing. The page I quoted runs on my computer at 100% CPU utilisation in New Moon 28, Mypal 68 and even in Thorium. A short time ago, it was almost 0% after loading completely. That's a fact. I opened the same link I bookmarked weeks ago.

Unable to replicate. ebayimg.map doesn't show up in any of my logs even when visiting https://www.ebay.de/itm/186679189985 incognito. Perhaps, eBay is once again using German eBay customers as guinea pigs for layout experiments. Comparable to laboratory rats. The eBay websites have become worse and worse in recent years. It used to be much, much better.

It took 2 hard and troubled days to achieve that installation and it went unlike described the most guidances i found in the web. I did have a USB installation stick (Windows 7 x64) with USB3 drivers already Dism-integrated (with which several installations on standard SATA SSDs went well before). As preliminary, i copied the file C:\Windows\Boot\EFI\bootmgfw.efi (of a running system) to the USD-drives \EFI\BOOT\ folder and renamed it bootx64.efi (bcause it was missing on mine, see here). It needed two different .inf NVMe drivers from Fernandos's NVMe driver site: - Phison's (WHQL-signed) "pure" generic 64bit NVMe driver v1.5.0.0 (link) - and the (unsigned!) original NVMe driver for Samsung’s NVMe SSDs (link) 1) Copy the (four) files of the Phison generic driver to the Inst-USB (for example in a folder x_Phison) 2) Dism-integrate the Samsumg driver to install.wim (section 3 "Professional" in my case). Since the Samsung's driver isn't signed, you have to use the option /ForceUnsigned. Only that single driver and only to install.wim, nothing else! No KB2990941-v3, no KB3087873-v2: Integrating those hotfixes always made the setup impossible because then it asked for CD-/DVD drivers at the very beginning of the setup, so it wasn't possible to start the insallation at all. All other NVMe drivers (including the Phison generic!!) that i integrated to install.wim did cause a 0x0000007B bsod at the first boot after the installation! That's it. Set the Boot-Mode to UEFI in the Z170 motherboards Bios and start installing Windows. When it comes to the point where the target-partition is to be selected, simply load the Phison driver from the stick: it recognises the 970 NVMe and its (before prepared MBR) partitions perfectly so you may select the target-partition for Win 7 and finish the installation. In my case it even was a a dual-boot situation: beside Windows XP on the primary partition I found one other guy (AbsoluteZero, here) who had a very similar situation. Maybe this small guidance may help to avoid big efforts, trouble and frustrations in the future for some others... Good Luck, M.

hello, it appears that windows 7 build 6509 from quick testing does not seem to suffer from this issue although 6519 has been claimed to have fixed this bug first. i tried many reboots (i think i did it 20-30 times or more) and not one time has it failed unlike the known build before it (build 6498) where it once failed to start 1 service or it displayed a black screen upon boot or the setup just didnt launch. maybe this information can help to narrow down where the drift bug fix first got implemented before other changes have occurred that may have muddied the waters in the code. maybe its worthy to those that are still working on a solution. (win32ss and maybe some others) please note that i have a haswell machine (i5 4460).

I already tried windows vista and no, im definitely not lucky at all in the silicon lottery otherwise i wouldnt have brought this up. Im no stranger to the problems on win vista for my cpu generation and i still remember all the side effects i had when i tried vista x64 but i didnt notice anything different with build 6498 for that matter. It was just odd that build 6509 had survived ALL the reboots i made and i have yet to experience any of the issues i had on win vista x64, it worked perfectly just like my vista x86 install which definitely doesnt have this problem at all. Seriously, try it and see for yourself, you'd prob see a difference between build 6509 and 6498 so make a usb stick of 6509 and try to swap boot.wim periodically after some amount of restarts with a regular vista boot.wim and/or build 6498 boot.wim and you'll see what im talking about.

It can speed up painting a bit and smooths out animations, also scrolling, most apparent when you auto-scroll. It also has an effect on font appearance (maybe there are combinations of obscure about:config settings where it doesn't, but haven't really dug into it). Videos are good example where CPU usage can be significantly reduced. Difference between Task Manager looks like this in my case between HW accel on and off on a 1080p video on YouTube (Pale Moon). Also on my PC there's a night and day difference on Street View on Google Maps, at least on Chromium, it's still laggy s*** on UXP browsers. Maybe my dream PC fares better with that.

When the CSS code for animations and transitions is active, you can't close some popups on MSFN. For example, the popup to see your recent notifications.

There are animations here at MSFN? Never seen any, that I recall. Aside from the .png emoji's, which my Proxomitron config allows to animate for three cycles (at least, that's my default for all gif's, would have to look at the config or download one of the emoji .png's to research further).

I actually PREFER the posts HERE, to be honest. Mainly because of "visitation frequency" and a fast-and-easy "activity" versus "unread" view of everything on one page.

Correct! I was not logged in at the time. The eBay link is in the format that you are offered as a simple guest. It actually only contains one real tracking component starting with _trksid, the other two are purely item related starting with itmprp (followed by a checksum) and itmmeta and are not normally filtered by tracking filters. The current URL tracking filter list inside uBO does not even clean _trksid, although it is included but not activated.
