  1. Sure, also SaB 3.8.6 punches dogs. That's insane to imply and definitely not the case.

  2. "Ousted" is the wrong word here. When someone works for the FSB, he follows the legend given by the curators. So, he simply moved further, onto Telegram, but then again, even Telegram gave out real people identities to the Russia secret police. There are well known ones among them, plenty of proof (even photographed docs) were placed on Twitter by those prosecuted. It's literally all over the internet. Some 7 years ago a Russian woman was granted political asylum in EU. I'm actually against those "asylums", those individuals are recruited by the FSB and planted to Europe. Clear as day play. Of course, there were ones that have nothing to do with the FSB, simple peasants to manufacture cases for the Russia police work. I'm sure we have FSB shills even here, on MSFN. Russia actually played very good in terms of polluting and controlling the internet, media and software. (Google founder born in Moscow, Russia, what else is there to say?) Never underestimate your enemy. Fun fact is Russia has zero of their own hardware, not even a single CPU, our Western tech is used against us. Very welcome to give me a warning/ban/whatever, don't care, but you asked yourself.

  3. Important to mention, making this a standalone post. Those jailed ones were not committing real crimes (in contrast to the ones Durov is being accused of). They are punished for the disagreement with Russia's policies.
    2 points
  4. But Durov's VK did accept those demands of the Russian government, there are literally tons of criminal cases against Russian citizens based on their posts in VK. VK gave out all info, including real addressees to the Russian FSB, plenty of arrests were made, then followed by criminal prosecution. Also, Durov made it even worse, without any announcement, he simply sold the VK platform to another Kremlin/FSB controlled oligarch. People were getting jailed for several yeras old posts. It's all publicly known. I obviously shan't post any links, those all are easy to find, I don't want to be falsely blamed for "involving politics into forum" nonsense, so I digress.

  5. Hi, I just make an nvme boot of XP SP3 on this nice board with the N100 cpu. I use the Intel nvme driver for this on the Toshiba RD400. After install of all drivers, boottime is 10sec. Power is always about 6 Watt. Geekbench 2.4.3 shows 8033 Points. PS/2 works for the mouse together with the keyboard via y-cable. 2 Sata 600 MB/s connectors. The board has Rj45 Realtek Lan 8168, COM1 port, LPT1 port, USB2,3, PCIe connector for graphikcard, I use Geforce GT 730, Realtek sound 867, M2 for Wifi, M2 for nvme and with my mod also CSM for XP boot. You can use any 12...19 Volt DC-source. For Bios CSM mod, copy to an Fat32 USB stick all the content of my file (see downwards), select the USB stick via fs0: (for example) or fs1: and then for to flash my CSM Bios 1.06 via fpt -f bios.rom No risk in this Bios flash, because you can always flash back the original Bios 1.06 from website of Asrock. It is one of the most stable boards I have. Just now I copy about 1000 Gbyte via USB3. All drivers for XP I have for this board from summer 2023. No crash, no error, no go down to slow speed as I always notice on all the z690, z790 boards for USB3 Dietmar All for Bios CSM mod is here https://ufile.io/lka3uvrf

  7. I haven't used any tools to measure the speed, but I did notice a significant speed bump compared to Serpent 52 as well, especially on Youtube. Yes. For me, that includes Classic Theme Restorer, Downloads Window and Session Manager. Also, the Open in browser extension doesn't run properly: I get two dialog boxes asking me what to do. In Serpent (which uses an older version) it's only one. To be fair, though, that's Mozilla's doing. They switched to Web Extensions which have much less control over the UI.

  9. Probably same as Firefox/Basilisk. But that applies to classic extensions, of which very few may run in Mypal, I doubt anyone that maintains them checks Mypal. Firefox needs some hacks to load specially adapted bootstrapped extensions, one and only remaining kind of classic extensions that may still be loaded. https://github.com/xiaoxiaoflood/firefox-scripts Mostly, you're looking for Web Extensions, which have manifest.json rather than install.rdf.

  11. Ok. I can confirm that your code is indeed working except hiding the Open new tab button when only one tab is open. My recommendation is to move the Open new tab button to another toolbar, for example to the left of the url bar or to the right of the search bar, via the toolbar menu entry Customize. Doing so, this code is enough: /* Hide single tab -- works */ tab:only-of-type{display:none !important;} /* Reduce the minimum height of the tab bar to 0 so that it collapses when empty -- works */ #tabbrowser-tabs, #tabbrowser-arrowscrollbox, #tabbrowser-tabs > .tabbrowser-arrowscrollbox{min-height:0 !important;} The moved Open new tab button does no longer cause wasting of screen space. Another solution without the need of moving the Open new tab button will be posted by me, too.

  12. This is not, but the official Intel Tracking Technology in processors is, and if you noticed, the article is almost a decade old, meaning even those ancient mammoth's excrement processors already had them including those on laptops, phones, etc. You don't have to "install" anything, it's already in the CPU and controlled by the browser. Did you read the links? It's similar to echelon. Not to mention, every PC has a black box OS.

  14. I can confirm that rebasing xul.dll (I also rebase mozavcodec.dll, libGLESv2.dll and nss3.dll) improves RAM usage by MyPal. I'm trying the address proposed by @AstroSkippernow, but I used it with other addresses with good effects as well. ALSO: running mypal in sandboxie (checl @Multibooter's thread in the general windows XP thread) is effective to prevent crashes when using more than a few tabs. Cheers!

  18. It's a combination of things. If it isn't supposed to work, then why are these instructions all over the web? This is what I use: @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* Hide single tab -- works */ tab:only-of-type{display:none !important;} /* Hide Open new tab button when only one tab is present -- doesn't work in MyPal 68 */ tab[first-visible-tab="true"] + .tabs-newtab-button{display:none !important;} /* Reduce the minimum height of the tab bar to 0 so that it collapses when empty -- works */ #tabbrowser-tabs, #tabbrowser-arrowscrollbox, #tabbrowser-tabs > .tabbrowser-arrowscrollbox{min-height:0 !important;}

  19. @Tomcat76 I don't think your CSS code, which you didn't post here, is able to hide the tab bar, if only one tab is open, and immediately show it again when opening an additional tab, all in the same browser session. For that, you need a script which checks the state of the tab bar in the background by an observer function. AFAIK, this can't be done with CSS but with JavaScript. Edit: I have to correct a bit my statement above. In the special case of hiding the tab bar, when only one tab is open, it can be partially done in Mypal 68 even with CSS, as shown in the following post.
    1 point
  20. Then, you did something wrong. Check all steps again! All files have to be copied into the correct folders. And check if all modified prefs have been assigned to the correct values via about:config! Don't forget to delete the startup cache in the profile folder before you restart your browser! You have to start Mypal 68 with the profile where the chrome folder was created, of course. One thing is clear. All was tested in depth and is working. And my CSS code, too. BTW, re-posting what I wrote in my instructions is not helpful. I definitely know what I did. You should better post what you exactly did. And provide screenshots of all relevant folders' content and your userchrome.css! This is the only way I can help you.

  21. From a programming point of view, this is a condition. If there is only one tab, then hide the tab bar with the New Tab button. If there is more than one tab, then do not hide Tab Bar with the New Tab Button. Something like this should rather be realised with a JavaScript UC.JS file created inside the profile's chrome folder.

  23. And they all ended up using the Ancient Greek language. Telegramma consists of two Greek words tele = τῆλε = far, distant and gramma = γράμμα = letter, type. As you put it so aptly, it's all just stolen ...

  24. If the people in charge of Telegram, such as the founder and CEO Pavel Durov, tolerate their service being used for serious crimes such as mass murder, illegal arms and drug trafficking, child pornography, formation of organised crime, organised fraud, war mongering, worst propaganda combined with fake news and so on (the list is almost endless) and do nothing about it, then such subjects must be held accountable. And Pavel Durov is still lucky. He was arrested and charged in the EU (France). Conversely, if such a person from the EU were to be arrested and charged in Pavel Durov's original home country, the usual death sentence would not be long in coming.

  30. Inductive conclusion and generalisation of my empirically acquired data regarding sudden Thorium (Chrome) browser crashes: After all the measures, investigations and my proof, I described in detail in previous posts, I have come to the conclusion that spontaneous, recurring crashes of Chrome browsers, as, for example, Thorium, can be caused first and foremost by drivers or driver corpses, but also by services or programmes, running in the background responsible for interference, among other things like hardware defects and so on, of course. The so-called filter drivers deserve special mention at this point. Many of the Chrome browser crashes that have been numerously reported in different Internet forums, are probably due to this. But without a thorough investigation, such issues can't be clarified, and their real cause was therefore very often never discovered. So, my advice at this point. If such crashes happen, check first the Windows\System32\drivers folder for drivers or driver remnants that could be the causer (in most cases rather drivers from third-party providers), even if they are loaded correctly and do not produce any error messages! Problematic drivers can of course be loaded from other locations than the Windows\System32\drivers folder, too, especially when it comes to third-party drivers, all depending on the respective system, of course.

  31. Yes, of course. These themes you linked to have never been compatible with Mypal 68.x but with the old Mypal 29.x. You have to look for themes compatible with Firefox 68.x (Firefox Quantum), for example, here: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/themes/ But do not expect to find complete themes as it was the case in the legacy browsers! They are almost gone. Only light ones are still available. Regarding your issue, you seem to mix up legacy browsers like Pale Moon, New Moon and Mypal 29 with Quantum based browsers like Firefox 68 or Mypal 68. You can read more about that, for example, here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183657-mypal-68-in-windows-xp-custom-buttons-and-extensions/ There, I have listed different ways to customise Mypal 68. And of course, you will also find information in many other threads here on MSFN and everywhere else in the WWW. Search for Firefox Quantum themes!

  34. Interesting conversation here since I last posted! My problem getting Thorium and Supermium to run correctly from links in documents is not resolved, but my great thanks go to @rereser who has given me an enormous amount of help with this via PM. The associated registry entries relevant to this were in a bit of a mess on my system, to put it mildly, but I think they are as they should be now! Two likely important things I have now determined. Firstly, the links are being passed correctly to Thorium, what is failing is the running of the browser from them. If I have Thorium already open, the links open in it perfectly, so that is a sort of workaround. I just have to remember to open Thorium first before I click on any links in e-mails! The other is that the problem goes away in Safe Mode. That to me would indicate that it's something that's running on the system which is causing the issue. I've already (I hope) eliminated Malwarebytes from blame, as the problem still happens with it shut down. In light of the previous conversation, I'm now scouring my System32\Drivers folders for unwanted obsolete driver files! Nothing found yet. I will carry on experimenting.

  47. Really it's mostly a matter of taste. The main difference is the UI: BOC looks very much like SeaMonkey; Serpent looks very much like (pre-Photon) Firefox; NM 28 looks like older (pre-Australis) Firefox. They're all based on UXP though. If you have an older, pre-SSE2 PC, you may want to look at @roytam1's Firefox 45 or NM 27 builds instead.

  48. As typical my installer will install the latest of roy's builds, and I would like to add that I'm about half done with another version of the installer with some features people have requested. Stay tuned!

  49. You can enable or disable SSL/TLS ciphers according to your own security preferences. Go to about:config and filter for security.ssl3 and you'll see all available cipher suites for SSL 3.0 through TLS 1.2. Filter for security.tls13 to see the available cipher suites for TLS 1.3. Set to true to enable or false to disable. Changes are stored in your profile so they'll "stick" between browser updates; but you have to do this for every browser profile you use. A few Web sites may not yet use newer, more secure ciphers; if you visit any of those, you'll need to leave a less secure cipher enabled to access it. If you disable some ciphers, then can't connect to a site, that's probably the reason. Create a new, "clean" profile, restart the browser specifying it, and try again. If it works, check which cipher your browser uses with a particular site by clicking the padlock, then the right arrow, then "More Information." Then restart your browser with the default profile, and re-enable the cipher your browser used with that site. Your communications with that site are probably still reasonably secure, but be aware that they could eventually be decrypted by someone determined enough; perhaps even years later, and act accordingly. Ideally, you should contact the Webmaster and ask them to enable newer, more secure ciphers. (The Web site may choose to leave some older ciphers enabled as well, for compatibility with older browsers. That's fine as long as the newer ones are preferred.)

  50. You read about the palemoon on a pendrive. Very good. However, this is not a palemoon from MSFN. This is a modification from github. https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal/releases You are downloading a palemoon mypal 28.6.0 modification. Create a new folder on the pendrive and name it as you like. Run the installer on the disk in the system. In the first installer window, select the portable version. In then select the new installation folder - created on the pendrive. Install the browser. The installer will extract the portable to the folder. Use. The browser's folder will contain profile folders - transferred from appdata and from local appdata. All settings and cache will be in the installation folder on the pendrive. Be happy.
