  1. Under [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.0] Gtx 960 has the default vendor 10DE (which is the standard code for nVidia and should installable on all models) So the driver isn't locked! What I suggest, try to edit the inf from %NVIDIA_DEV.1401% = Section006, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1401 to your exact device manufacturer string. %NVIDIA_DEV.1401% = Section006, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1401&SUBSYS_36C11458&REV_A1 I'm thinking your card is locked in the BIOS to OEM only drivers.

  2. That's what we always think. But the first driver I gave in the below post has a simplified (unified) string for all GTX960 models. All VEN and SUBSYS were removed intentionally so it must install on any brand of that gpu. NVIDIA_DEV.1401 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960" https://msfn.org/board/topic/186432-how-to-adopt-win7-drivers-to-vista/?do=findComment&comment=1271485

  3. It was a "portable" version, yes, just unpacked. I didn't add the font, no. Thank you. Toady I rebooted several times, the fomts got back to normal, not for long, and Comodo sometimes says "oops, the agent has crashed, please reboot". No strange connections. But I don't have a lot of time to observe to be sure.

  6. You said all started to glitch out with Thorium. Did you install Thorium by the install.cmd file or did you just unpack the archive? And what about the "NotoEmoji Regular Segoe UI emoji" font? Did you also install it?

  10. If I wanted to install a Comodo Firewall 6.x.x version, I would go with Comodo Firewall 6.3.39949.2976 as it is the last archived version. You know I personally prefer Windows 10 Firewall Control XP Plus which I have been using for many years.

  11. It's been a long time when I used Comodo Firewall. If I remember correctly, I stopped using it at the version 5. Which version introduced the modernised UI you don't like? BTW and AFAIK, Comodo Firewall 8.4.0.5165 was the last properly working version in Windows XP.

  13. It worked for 15 years without a problem. All started to glitch out with Thorium. But I have no documented evidence of that. Just a big, fat, huge coincidence, for now. The notebook is barely used, still has the original OS. No PoS, no updates. Toshiba Satellite with a Celeron at 1.5Ghz. What year? 2003 or so.

  15. Found all the drivers, for the chipset all drivers are just inf stubs anyway, so should install without problems. I found two drivers for the network card on Vista, they are both from TP-Link, but they should work, it uses a realtek chip anyway. First try TP-Link_6.250.0908.2011 driver, it is newer and the network card will be called simply "Gigabit PCI Express Network Adapter" with no brand name. https://mega.nz/file/6zoXSCCS#MOEY53F1KIDeJhG53P2euw8zKVvOyh8KhXbAn_v4XSA Try installing the 365.19 driver on your video card through Device Manager.

  16. Although I am behind a router with a NAT- firewall, I always use a software firewall to control all incoming and outgoing connections. There are programmes installed in my system I do not allow to connect to the internet. Furthermore, I always use an antimalware programme. All in all, I consider such an configuration as a basic one when it comes to the matter security. But all that is not yet an answer what is going on with the Restore Previous Session entry of New Moon's or Serpent's History menu.

  18. Yes, running 2 instances of Kaspersky simultaneously was for experimenting. I have, for example, also experimented with Registry Trash Keys Finder and ran v3.9.2 and v3.9.4 simultaneously in 2 different sandboxes of Sandboxie v5.40, side-by-side. The purpose of running the 2 versions side-by-side was to compare v3.9.2 vs v3.9.4, because the two versions indicate a slightly different number of trash keys when run normally (i.e. outside of a sandbox). By chance I noticed that v3.9.4, when run normally (i.e. outside of a sandbox), displays 167 trash keys (see bottom left corner of screen shot), but when the same v3.9.4 is run in my Default sandbox 210 trash keys are displayed. Maybe the additional trash keys in the Default sandbox were leftovers of previous test-runs in the Default sandbox. These additional trash keys in the Default sandbox show that it may be useful to empty a sandbox. When run in a 2nd, rarely used sandbox, 168 trash keys were displayed. [The screenshots of Registry Trash Keys Finder were deleted, to make space for other image uploads The posting with the screenshots, before the images were deleted, can be viewed at http://web.archive.org/web/20240904132535/https://msfn.org/board/topic/186405-sandboxie-under-windows-xp/page/3/#comments ]

  21. So, have you found anything yet? I'm pretty sure that the original installer was stored somewhere on the Windows system partition. When the uninstaller is called to change features, you can check which files are accessed. I assume it'll be a MSI installer.

  26. As you may have seen in the Thorium thread regarding my issue with sudden crashes, finding the cause of an issue can lead to an odyssey. But maybe, you try a clean unistall and then a reinstall of the Comodo Firewall. In some cases, it really helps. And don't forget to backup your firewall settings first!

  27. cool. In vanilla (yet nlited) partition, xompie causes no issues to me. In m heaviliy tweaked partition, it ruins text files rendering: the files load, but can't display text. Something with my settings. I guess I will find a cure eventually. In the meanwhile, installed xomplie and uninstalled it, to keep the files ad firewall sttings and wait for a rainy day. Be well.

Not quite ; the list is actually being updated quasi-frequently, you can see so for yourself by visiting: https://github.com/kargig/greek-adblockplus-filter/commits/master/void-gr-filters.txt (most recent modification was just one week ago), however its maintainer is being remiss in also updating its version string, which appears to have been stuck at v2023112600 (Nov 26th 2023?) ; if one feels uncomfortable/vexed about this fact, the list's GH issue tracker is https://github.com/kargig/greek-adblockplus-filter/issues FWIW, with just an IPv4 VDSL+ connection inside Greece, the host "void.gr" can be successfully accessed here ...
