  4. So what? Anyone can register a company in America. It means nothing now. I literally busted the IPs it leaks data to. I published them on the site, don't have them at hand now, I don't use it for many years, seeing you're quite fond of necroposts, please take your time to search at my account.

  5. TBH, I personally am completely satisfied with Kee. And KeePass also works well without Kee if you only retrieve previously saved login data. I never tried the combination of KeePassXC-Browser and KeePassNatMsg. But thanks for the insights when trying to fix the code! BTW, I avoid all webextensions which need an additional exe file in Windows due to their restrictions in Chrome/Firefox/Mypal 68. I don't like that at all.

  7. Please define "completely". So you want to say you can copy the supermium folder with your existing profile to another PC, and it keeps all your settings, passwords, extensions, cookies, etc? I'd like to see the proof of that. Thanks.

  8. No, I meant the user agent I quoted. It makes you unique. It's bad.

  9. Stating the duration of a custom scan without the amount of files examined is unfortunately completely meaningless. 11 min for 1 GB, 11 min for 10 GB, or 11 min for 100 GB would lead to completely different evaluations. Anyway! Thanks for your good intentions!

  10. That's really nice of you to say, but what good are these screenshots going to do me? As I said, I installed RogueKiller on my computer many months ago. I know the interface very well, and your screenshots are unfortunately pretty meaningless without additional information. Much more important would be experience in using RogueKiller, information about the version you are using (portable or not, premium or free), your operating system, RAM and CPU utilisation, when RogueKiller is running, in terms of possible loss of performance, and in any case, to list both positive and negative points.

  11. Thanks for your suggestion! RogueKiller has been on my internal list for a long time. I installed it on my second Windows XP partition many months ago. This programme will also be the content of an article when the time is right. And that is unfortunately the problem.

  13. Zemana AntiMalware Zemana AntiMalware is a second opinion malware scanner designed to rescue your computer from malware that have infected a computer despite all the security measures one has taken. There's no need to tinker with confusing settings. With years of experience built-in, it just works "out of the box". Zemana AntiMalware is highly optimized and lightweight with virus definitions stored in the cloud, not cluttering up the local drive. Zemana AntiMalware can be used in two versions, Free or Premium. A valid license is only needed for the Premium version. Zemana AntiMalware 2.74.2.150 is the last compatible version with Windows XP. The more recent version v3 are no longer XP-compatible contrary to the information on the Zemana's homepage. Feature comparison Free vs. Premium: Homepage: https://zemana.com/us/antimalware.html Version number: 2.74.2.150 Date of release: 21.08.2017 System requirements: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows, Windows 7, Windows XP Release notes: https://zemana.com/us/whats-new3aa7.html?ProductID=2 Reviews: https://davescomputertips.com/zemana-antimalware-review/ https://www.wizcase.com/antivirus/zemana/ Download link: https://softradar.com/zemana-antimalware/2.74.2.150/ Screenshots: Zemana Anti-Malware is indeed a lightweight tool and IMHO, rather meant to be used as an additional security layer. It is definitely not a fully fledged antivirus or antimalware programme. Therefore, I personally would use it only as an on-demand scanner to get a second opinion even though the premium version offers a real-time protection after all which is either paid for or realised through a giveaway license. Zemana Anti-Malware uses cloud engines for local scanning. Thus, no local definition updates are needed but logically a working internet connection. What kind of scan engines it uses in these days is kept rather secret. There seem to be several, but the company's information policy is modest and rather disinformative. I have the impression that they don't want to show their cards anymore contrary to the past. Furthermore, the current version 3.2.28 is listed as XP-compatible. This is simply nonsense and misleading. All versions 3.x start directly with an error message under Windows XP and are therefore not XP-compatible. The good is the much older version 2.74.2.150 still works flawlessly under Windows XP in these days which has just been tested again by me. Cheers, AstroSkipper

  14. It's really nice to see you back again I also had covid earlier this year. I was pretty dead for a week or two. Though I haven't experienced any of the other things you're dealing with. I hope things are able to turn more positive for you in the future. Thank you guys for your support on being myself. Haven't been as active here, as for most of this year I have felt quite drained on my whole interest in this tech stuff; and a lot of my other hobbies. I recently stored away a lot of my old laptops, computers, etc, as I haven't touched them in nearly a year. I spent most of the year hanging out with a special person, who then proceeded to lay out one of the worst situations I've ever been in 4 months ago. August, September, October, and November all kinda just melted together after that. I got a job a week ago, and that has taken up a lot of my time now.

  19. I don't know who that is. What questions do you need to have answered? I tried DXVK on 7 with my 12_0 feature card, to be brief - it sucked big time. I think the more worrying fact that here we have too few active members with somewhat recent hardware, oh wait a minute - Vistapocalypse, I now remembered, he has no hardware at all, only if we count his iPhone (took it from his posts). All questions regarding Nvidia, better ask me.

  20. DXVK has little practical usage, as of only two and a half games can run on Vulkan, just a reminder, Vulcan is in their development for almost a decade now. Do you follow the latest trends? All devs went for DX12, period.

  21. I recall there was something about Mypal 68 and executing Web Assembly code...ud2 instruction was encountered and that threw crash dialog. There are legitimate uses of that instruction and a crash dialog (or kernel panic if you're in Linux kernel) are not expected (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/7268352/linux-kernel-module-to-check-memory-integrity/7268558#7268558). And another one could happen when forcing OpenGL compositing, which AFAIK Mozilla never intended to be used on Windows in the first place, but works in some browsers with glitches. Not exactly performant either, but with it, you can have video in a web browser without screen tearing, which I find to be an unusual phenomenon on Windows XP. I did notice at the later point D3D9 compositing works as well as with the old Firefox versions and roytam1's forks, just needs to be turned on manually in about:config.

  22. ... By now, I'm sure ALL of NM28's users are aware that this browser, much like its upstream progenitor (Pale Moon), does not support any form/type of the Web Extension (WE) add-on format; be that as it may, inside NM's "about:config" tab one can find at least seven (7) prefs with the "webextension" string in their names: extensions.webExtensionsMinPlatformVersion;42.0a1 extensions.webextensions.keepStorageOnUninstall;false extensions.webextensions.keepUuidOnUninstall;false webextensions.storage.sync.enabled;false webextensions.storage.sync.serverURL;https://webextensions.settings.services.mozilla.com/v1 webextensions.tests;false webextensions.webRequest.requestBodyMaxRawBytes;16777216 Do the above still serve a purpose for New Moon? I suspect they're more tied to the platform (UXP) itself rather than the application (NM), however, given the fact NM28 is being compiled without the " --enable-webextensions" buildconfig flag, wouldn't it be more "sane" if they were absent/removed altogether from within NM28's config editor? FWIW, "Mozilla Sync" is not-a-thing-anymore for UXP-based browsers (thus, the "webextensions.storage.sync.serverURL" pref is invalid at its current, default, value , even for St52), while "Pale Moon Sync" (which fork users aren't ethically/legally entitled to use - have never tried it myself) doesn't support WE (thus, "webextensions.storage.sync.enabled;false" is redundant) ; @roytam1, your thoughts on this, please... Best wishes !

  23. This is because the original developer of that version of chrome goes by the name of "Weolar" who is selling official support to companies around the world. Official private builds don't have restrictions like a timebomb. I don't know whether the build got released publicly or if it was leaked by someone, but assuming the first case, I think (but this is speculation) that making one build freely available to the public helps attracting commercial support, but again I'm just speculating here. All I can say is that I've been one of the very lucky people using the official private builds for quite some time (M76, M92, M108) and I reported several bugs which, eventually, got fixed, although I found some regressions in M108 which is the last one I've got (that's right, I haven't received M115 yet). One of the regressions is that if you have the "Save as" to ask you where to save the file that you download instead of saving them automatically to the download folder, it "forgets" the filename, so that it opens the prompt but there's no file name there. That bug was introduced in M92 and it got fixed in later releases but somehow got reintroduced in M108. About M108, it got several releases as the first ones led to a memory leak but that got addressed in later versions of that release (the last being from June 2023 this year). Another issue has to do with the timing and the handling of sampling in the input devices like the microphone that leads to unpleasant artifacts, crackling noises etc. This has been reported by other people (and not just me), however it never got addressed, unfortunately. It affects all version from M76 to M108. One thing you may wanna do is change the user agent, though, 'cause by default it spoofs XP as Windows 10 to the various websites. This is how I created the shortcut on my desktop, though: C:\Programmi\Chrome\chrome.exe --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/108.0.5359.125 Safari/537.36"

  24. Hi Roy ; for some OT-to-this-thread reason , I went inside St55's "about:config" tab (aka "advanced pref editor") and while filtering entries with "general.useragent.override.", I observed below ten results: general.useragent.override.zoho.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.soundcloud.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.mozilla.org;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.mozilla.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.github.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.firefox.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.deviantart.net;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.deviantart.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.altibox.no;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 general.useragent.override.altibox.dk;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:None) Goanna/20170101 Basilisk/55.0.0 that all have the "rv:None" slice ; this "None" value isn't resolved further at runtime when you actually visit one of the affected domains (e.g. "www.mozilla.com"), it is my conviction "None" is an invalid value for a platform revision... I dug this further and the source code file: application/basilisk/branding/shared/uaoverrides.inc has, e.g., for mozilla.com this line: pref("@GUAO_PREF@.mozilla.com","Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:@UXP_VERSION@) @UXP_DATE_SLICE@ @APP_SLICE@"); I believe this code was ported over sometime from UXP (St52/NM28/e.a.), however in St55, which is NOT a "true" UXP member, it appears "@UXP_VERSION@" resolves at build time to "None", which doesn't look right ; I just checked and NM28/St52 do not have any default SSUAOs with a "rv:None" slice, e.g. NM28 has: general.useragent.override.mozilla.com;Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:4.8) Goanna/20230101 PaleMoon/28.10.7a1 Hopefully, this can be fixed in the next St55 release ...

  25. 2. It appears that crx4chrome is updating all of their MV2 downloads to default to MV3. You will need to extact the .crx, delete manifest.json (which is a direct copy of manifest_v3.json), rename manifest_v2.json to manifest.json, then go into Developer Mode on the Extensions page to pack the extension. DO NOT "install" the re-packed .crx via Developer Mode. Exit Developer Mode after you repack then install via drag-and-drop. Developer Mode should only ever be used to "develop" extension, NEVER TO INSTALL THEM.

  29. Windows ME, Vista - used them all and still use, what mistake are you talking about? For those with 1gig of RAM? But there's a reason Vista needed more RAM, it added new functionalities. What did Windows 11 add, I mean apart from the bloatware? Now look, still too few mentions of Windows 11, even after two plus years.

  30. I read your statement again. Now, I think I have understood what you have done. You deleted one or more of the four search engines Brave, Qwant, DuckDuckGo and Mojeek in the file search.json.mozlz4, with which Mypal 68.13.7b is now delivered by @feodor2 as default, by using the extension mozlz4-edit. That doesn't work, of course. The easiest way to get rid of them is removing them in the Options dialogue of Mypal 68. If you do so, they will remain hidden until you restore the default settings one day.

  31. Ok! That's indeed a normal behaviour of modern Firefox versions. In any case, all added, custom search engines remain the same after restarting Mypal 68 if nothing bad or unusual happens.

  32. I can't confirm any crashes or problems after editing the file search.json.mozlz4 using the extension mozlz4-edit. What I have edited remains the same no matter how often I restart Mypal 68. Actually, there is no need to add anything to the profile when launching. If so, your installation or your profile is presumably faulty. But keeping backups is always a good idea.

  33. CD is only 16bit, properly backed up Vinyl is 24bit, I can hear a clear difference in favour of Vinyl. I have a good turntable made by Philips, I simply back them up to spare the vinyls.

  34. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty v1.300 Genres: Action, Slasher, made by Companies: Team Ninja, Koei Tecmo Games Requires Windows 10 as the minimum, the main reason being DirectX Version 12.

  35. No, only Vinyl! On CD it's highly compressed and sounds awful, you need Vinyl.

  38. That's why I still didn't write my own portable starter programme for that browser. One of the reasons.

  39. 8GB of RAM, Pentium G as the minimum or the second gen of Intel i-Core, preferably a graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5, fast HDD..

  40. Overall, I agree with you, still with an SSD XP will be even more responsive, if properly configured. Win7 does way too many reads-writes, especially at startup, also agree.

  41. Hi everyone ... I've missed you all very much and I MEAN IT! Thank you for the kind words I've read. A lot has happened to me and I don't even know where to start; but I'll try. 1st: I got Covid In April and lost all of my functions in including (what's left of) my mind and I'm far from recovered yet - not 100% 2nd: I was evicted from the housing I was living and I'm now in a group home that is just down the street from where I used to live. One-by-one they were evicting handicap disabled folks to turn the building into luxury housing and I was on that list; sadly. I''m a little safer here but I'm also limited on how much time I can spend online. 3rd: My Peace Lilly died. I'm happy to be back here as I've always considered this my home. I realized not everyone will be thrilled but that is ok. I hope to spend more time relearning what Covid took from me and getting into these new browsers and updated I see listed but I have low energy atm. Be well and happy holidays to all. ~Salvatore

  42. Shadow Defender Shadow Defender is an easy-to-use PC/laptop security and privacy protection tool for Windows operating systems. It provides an excellent way to prevent unwanted or malicious changes from being made to your PC/laptop. With Shadow Defender, one can run the system in a virtual environment, called Shadow Mode. And all the attacks will happen in the virtual environment, not in the real environment. If attacks happened, all the user needs to do is to reboot the system. After reboot, the system will be restored to the original state, as if nothing happened. And meanwhile the user can save any selected files and folders to the real environment. Shadow Defender is of course XP-compatible, unfortunately commercial, and its installer is a 30 days trial. Features: Prevent all viruses and malware. Surf the internet safely and eliminate unwanted traces. Protect your privacy. Eliminate system downtime and maintenance costs. Reboot to restore your system back to its original state. Homepage: http://www.shadowdefender.com/index.html Version number: 1.5.0.726 Date of release: 02.08.2020 System requirements: Windows 11 Windows 10 Windows 8, 8.1 Windows 7 SP1 with KB3033929 installed Windows Vista SP2 with KB2763674 installed Windows 2003 Windows XP Version history: http://www.shadowdefender.com/history.html Reviews: https://outwittrade.com/shadow-defender-review/ https://malwaretips.com/threads/shadow-defender-an-unobjective-review.93266/ Download links: Installer: http://www.shadowdefender.com/download/Setup.exe Language files: http://www.shadowdefender.com/download.html Screenshots: Shadow Defender is really easy to use. It has been installed in my system since 2013. However, I only use it when changes in my system are undesirable. I own the latest registered version which I received as part of a giveaway. 45. Months ago, I installed and checked 360 Total Security from Qihoo in the version 10.8.0.1541, which I didn't like, though. I wrote about it in the old antivirus thread. Now, there is a brand new version available, 360 Total Security 11.0.0.1042. Maybe, this one? In any case, it has a real-time protection function and is still listed to be compatible with Windows XP. But, be attentive during installation to deselect what you don't want, if that's possible!

  46. That shouldn't really be the case, and I'm sorry about that, but I'm trying to prevent any misunderstandings, given the posts here. It is of course clear that Malwarebytes is no longer interested in old versions. They want to leave the era of Windows XP and Vista behind. If you have read my old posts about how I was treated in the Malwarebytes forum as a Windows XP user, especially by their moderators, there is no need for any further explanation. But there was also a small glimmer of hope where an ordinary member had apologised to me for his behaviour.

  47. What are all these empty and meaningless words about HTTPS Everywhere? The extension is discontinued and no longer officially available on Chrome Web Store due to all browsers it supported redirecting to HTTPS on its own, its repo is archived on GitHub. Malware? What a load of bollocks... Nothing. Maybe use the right tool for the job? Or get the version from their GitHub page, no practical difference in content between them.
