Win XP had a choice of colours, there were two other themes, not only your favourite blue theme - olive green colour and the acid silver colour themes.3 points

I agree with you, anything less than 6GB makes no sense. The question is, will he ever need a Titan XP, I mean no guarantee we'll see the latest ported drivers. I'd still go with it.3 points

Anyways, the Titan line is still the King! Go Titan XP.3 points

Yes, I can, in fact @Dixel already did. [link] But if you still insist, please go to chrome://version/ and post the screenshot from there.2 points

Could be due to the fact there was a problem with secure DNS functioning in Supermium, reported on github. @UCyborg, try to replicate the error with or without secure DNS.2 points

@legacyfan! Have a look here: Old, offline Root Certificate Updater, all created by myself, you will find here in the section 11.1. I thought this deserved its own thread, as opposed to hijacking the supermium thread. I'm posting from this browser right now on my XP machine with discord, ESPN, and youtube open, and haven't experienced any crashes or bizarre bugs yet. I'm a bit disappointed that we don't have access to the source code, though. https://github.com/weolar/xpchrome1 point

I only witnessed the standard 20-30 connections to Google IP Addresses that all Chromium Forks make unless "ungoogled'. Primarily 172.217.x.y and 142.25(0|1).x.y. Also saw a 34.104.x.y in the list, not sure I've seen that one in other Chromium Forks, possibly tied to "DNS Protection" which is just another way of saying "give us your DNS records instead of giving them to your ISP".1 point

... As I have explained already, without blocking those "browser-detect" discourse scripts, you won't be able to get this working; what is the "less complex" type of adblock that you currently use (because I can't believe there exist people "here" browsing the web of 2023 without any type of adblock) ? FWIW, you can always use a new St52 profile with just uBO (or other script blocker), specifically for Discourse-based forums (in any case, you can at least try this to verify my solution really works ) ... PS: It is my experience that content blockers do not slow down browsers, at least not to a perceivable extent (unless, ofc, you load too many filter lists in them); blocking all those third-party resources, i.e. scripts (especially miners), ad video, ad images, etc., results in quicker page loads and reduced bandwidth usage, if anything - YMMV, ofc ... PS2: Are you familiar with the English adage "You can't have your cake and eat it, too" ? You come here and ask for solution to a problem, an offered, proven, one involves slightly modifying "your" workflow (i.e. employing a script blocker), with minimal or zero risks, yet you remain reluctant to apply the proposed solution - while I do indeed respect your choices, often times the key to success is simple compromises ...1 point

@j7n: UXP-based browsers have all the necessary mechanics (I'd say 99.9% of them) to properly display ALL discourse-based forums; the real issue is discourse's stupid/overzealous browser-feature sniffing scripts, which are BLOCKING the UXP-based browsers because they can't detect support for certain features (no doubt present in recent Chromium/Firefox) which are not indispensable for these forums to function as expected... My own solution in St52 since months ago involves: 1. A SSUAO for discourse-based assets (not even sure this is still needed today): general.useragent.override.discourse-cdn.com;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:115.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0 2. Blocking those overzealous scripts in your content blocker of choice ; I simply use uBlock Origin "legacy" and in the "My Filters" tab I've added this filter: ! Discourse-based forums ||*/assets/browser-detect-$script,important After that, ALL discourse-based forums display correctly (and this includes vertical scrolling ), e.g. : https://forums.docker.com/c/docker-desktop-for-windows/481 point

It will work, but you won't be able to have many tabs open concurrently. The 4 tabs I had open were using roughly 2.5 GB of RAM.1 point

There is a red arrow pointing to where the quotes mentioned are being used. Try to be more reasonable on the forum. We make everyone post in English and people from other countries may not be 100% accurate and clear when they post, so it is to be expected that sometimes things can get mixed up. You have the ability to figure out what a person is trying to say, there is no reason to try to catch people in a grammar trap.1 point

I beg you, please stop digging that old locked topic from the grave. I thought we were already over with it. This is like the 3rd time you mentioned that old locked topic already. It's supposed to be forgotten.1 point

I am well aware, I wasn't born yesterday, lol. I'm actually planning six different Win10 color choices. I call them Win10 because the title bar (and min/max/close/restore icons) is (are) "flat" where XP's title bar (and min/max/close/restore icons) is (are) "rounded". My RGB / HTML color combos are below. I figure SIX is more than enough for members to grab one that suits them. No timeline, they will be done when they are done. The color combos are basically being defined "for me". Official Ungoogled Chromium does NOT use Win10's "inactive title bar" color (Win10 defaults to white [Light App Mode]), but selects its own "inactive" color based on 'masking' the "active" color. Once an "active" color is manually defined (registy entry also provided for reference), it is Official Ungoogled Chromium revealing the other colors used in my skins, I don't just pluck them out of thin air, lol. Blue 0 99 177 = #0063B1 72 143 199 = #488FC7 26 115 232 = #1A73E8 Olive Green 112 130 56 = #708238 153 166 133 = #99A685 232 113 10 = #E8710A Metallic Silver 170 169 173 = #AAA9AD 194 193 196 = #C2C1C4 128 134 139 = #80868B Iron Gray 82 89 93 = #52595D 131 136 139 = #83888B 128 134 139 = #80868B Bronze 177 86 15 = #B1560F 199 134 83 = #C78653 176 96 0 = #B06000 Brick Red 170 74 68 = #AA4A44 194 125 121 = #C27D79 217 48 37 = #D93025 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM] "AccentColor"=dword:ffb16300 "AccentColorInactive"=dword:ffc78f48 Note that Win10's registry uses BGR instead of RGB and the first two letters define the "mask" (typically ff for Light App Mode and 00 for Dark App Mode). I've not yet experimented with "masking" 'in the middle' for a skin that works well in Light App Mode and Dark App Mode.1 point

I'll maybe revisit Supermium in the future again, but the last 115 I tried, secure DNS behaved just like in 360 Chrome, meaning not working at all.1 point

Then could it be the thing that HD sound is also broken on win11, since the developer is fixated mostly on win10? I read reports of the sound troubles on 11, too.1 point

FYI, I checked the root cerificates for updates and noticed this: At first glance, it looks like the disallowedcert.sst (revoked certificates) file has been updated. I downloaded it and compared it with the previous version. The contents of the two files are the same. The only thing that has been changed is the file date and timestamp on the server. So, nothing new in the West. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

Web server can send whatever it wants regardless of what that header says. You'd have to disable WebP decoding functionality inside the browser, which in case of Chromium based browsers probably means analyzing the disassembled code and altering it so decoding routines don't run. Unless you have the source code which it's compiled from, in that case it could be done without hacking the binaries.1 point
