https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProductions/UXP/issues/2262 Apparently they will first go from C++11 to C++14 for the next milestone, and they will see a bit later for C++17. C++14 should be fine for XP builds for now, so roy has more time to figure out what to do. Nice to see a polite discussion about XP, It can be felt than the tension has settled down which is a good thing for everyone given the past griefs.3 points

(offtopic) Use the "chromium-web-store" extension. (Read the Readme.md first) However note, that Chromium 109 is the last version that supports Windows 7, so you'll be exposed to security vulnerabilities! Search engines here: chrome://settings/searchEngines2 points

if any of you had old windows 9x/ME/NT installations and you have used windows update in the past before it was shut down in august 2011 then please try to dig up these hard drives and look for a folder called "WindowsUpdate" in c:\program files\ even if you dont remember using windows update just check if they do have the folder incase it may contain something very important. if you do find the folder "WindowsUpdate" then please upload the entire folder to us in a zip, rar, or 7z file. (what matters is that you upload the files) this includes installations of windows 98 (both first edition and second edition), windows 95, windows me, windows 2000, and lastly windows nt 4.0. chances are there could be very important files that wayback machine unfortunately could not recover or archive. i would appreciate it and it could help alot especially if it contains bm, inv, and gng files inside the folder. it includes inventory system and files very important for checking updates.2 points

Hello MSFN, I have a problem. You know I signed up 3 months ago, right? Why this version of the Weather app from Windows 10 1703 does not work anymore. I even posted on Microsoft Community, but no reply. Now I'm here to help me with this problem. Can you do me a favor and try to fix this by replacing the API/servers in this version of the Weather app? The version is 4.46.30621.0, if you want to remember that. And please, share this with everyone, thank you.1 point

Where? Did I miss it? My tests: music.youtube.com works fine, if the flag's on default. www.napacanada.com won't let me in at all (says protected by croudfare). Perhaps because they don't deliver to France?1 point

As a rule of thumb, there's no need to mess with any flags in chrome, a wise idea would be add only those you surely need via cmd (using launcher), and not in the chrome's flags page. If it's too many of them, it may become slow at launch.1 point

How so? In simple English, I suggest to try the both sites with the flag on defaults. I'm just trying to be helpful, as I generally am.1 point

Here you can obtain the latest MPC-HC versions. Some later beta versions might be too bright, https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases/1 point

Even though I too like the French VLC media player very much, don't forget about the other famous player - MPC-HC, not to be confused with the infamous, cheap knock-off MPC-BE, that can't evn properly handle HD streams. MPC-HC also works very good with the new gen. BluRay UHD.1 point

Thanks for your reply, @Tangy! You talk about your personal, subjective experiences, but you haven't written what they are. So what are your own experiences when using SUPERAntiSpyware? And of course, I don't mean what others have written. The thread in Wilders Security Forums is relatively meaningless. A few negative, a few positive, all rather lacking in content and the last pages, which are somewhat more recent, only contain update information. Everything before that is outdated and irrelevant. Unfortunately, this is not a quotable source, but rather for the bin. As you said, it is a video in Portuguese. There are no English or German subtitles. Only an automatic translation which is awful. And what is tested there is nothing official and unfortunately total nonsense. If you had done a little more research, you would have noticed that SUPERAntiSpyware is not a complete antivirus programme and should only be used in addition. So what is tested in the video is obviously nonsense and can only lead to disaster. Unfortunately, this kind of video is dubious and should be taken with a grain of salt. Apart from that, this is an English speaking forum. Please post videos in English only! I do not post videos in German here, either. Nevertheless, thanks for your good will! You're welcome! Glad to hear you like my thread. Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point

I'm not saying you are wrong about security vulnerabilities, but this shouldn't be a problem IMO, the main concern is its compatibility with websites.1 point

Or what? you will report me? Go ahead! Don't forget to include the offensive posts by your friend.1 point

Freaking Hell! I completely ignore you, no one touches you, yet you had to bring you usual fights with others (esp. highly respected) members), like AstroSkipper, even here, into the fake legacyfan topic! Besides, you, again, made a serious violation, you hijacked the locked reputation thread, which @Tommy already warned about! I'm now putting you in the pack of these two, you know who. Congratulations to the new trio.1 point

I could not resist the temptation. This beauty of a firewall is still available Sygate Personal Firewall ( spf ) which you may downloaded from here :https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/sygate_personal_firewall_free.html I think majorgeeks seems to be a safe site. I did use it for a bit over 6 months and I found it to be rather good. The thing is I am a pc tools person ever since the days of windows 2000 nt pro. I guess the jury is out. @AstroSkipper give us your verdict then.1 point

It’s sad that MSFN has become a battleground for tiny cliques. I think the forum’s “reputation” feature should be disabled because it has been reduced to a weapon of war. I’m beginning to wonder why I’m still here, aside from trying to prevent AstroSkipper from rambling on and on about crappy security software while denigrating more effective options. I just might have to abandon this “Funny Farm.”1 point

I'll really never get what's the point of you making topics like this in the first place, if you will then later on request moderators to close them. You do this a lot, and every single time.1 point

Is anything on this thread really needed? I can only see senselessly whining and bickering. jaclaz1 point

Because that comment is relevant, you were talking to your Texan friend, real legacyfan about the weather in Texas, if you have anything against me, you have the right to report me to the moderators, don't forget to include, or better repeat again, your public confession of your and your friend's stalking/offensive/insulting behaviour at MSFN and outside of it, on another forums where you put dirt on us. Because to me it looks like not everyone saw it. https://msfn.org/board/topic/184737-mental-health-awareness-month/?do=findComment&comment=12471081 point

... Mine's 1280x800, so bigger by a small margin (2008 era Toshiba laptop) ... Mine looks different because I'm using a third-party complete theme (Photonic, modified to display correctly on Vista; the original targets Win7+); I'm also using an extension, Menu Icons Plus 3.2.1-signed.1-signed, which itself further alters the appearance of the context menu; complete theme + extension DO NOT interfere with the actual correct functioning of the browser's Context Menu, though... ... But sites often make sure "we don't always get what we want" ... Please, try with a clean Serpent 52 profile ; in some minutes, I'll update this post with screengrabs from a fresh St52 profile and its behaviour on the discogs URL you linked to previously... Later additions: On a fresh St52 profile, I have no issue with middle-clicking the small image on the top-left and loading: https://www.discogs.com/release/2872133-London-Starlight-Orchestra-Once-Upon-A-Time-In-The-West/image/SW1hZ2U6NTE2NDE5OQ== However, when I try to invoke the context menu by placing my cursor on top of the "bigger" image, I now get what you described: I then switched to my "dirty" St52 profile, but this time I loaded it in "Safe Mode" (to get add-ons out of the way); first difference I noticed is that my cursor, when placed on top of the "bigger" image, now turns into a small magnifying glass with the "+" sign, something that doesn't happen in the fresh profile; right-clicking produces a Context-Menu inside which image-related options are available: So, I have something(s) modified inside my about:config settings that restores the image-related context-menu entries; but, which something(s) ???1 point

I am working on releasing a free utility program that can speed up, clean up, fix errors, and remove malware from computers. Currently, it is still in the testing phase, but it can already significantly improve performance on slower computers and clean out junkware. If anyone is interested in testing it, that would be great. Right now, it supports Windows XP through Windows 10, with limited support for Windows 11. Here is the website to download it: https://aipcfix.com/ Any feedback that you have is definitely welcome! Thanks.1 point

The forum does show the account locking and also the LA IP address. However, that login attempt was using the same device you normally use. Furthermore, when you changed your forum password, it was done using a Moreno California IP address, which you continued to use that same day (6/17) and even made posts, such as this one: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184737-mental-health-awareness-month/page/19/#comment-1247114 The CA IPs that were used that day are registered to the same ISP as the ones you normally use, so it appears to the forum that it was your own device that generated the failed attempts.1 point
