  1. Sometimes I also do that, I accidentally give my (jaded) opinion or validation when nobody needs another personal to validate how they feel. I guess, sometimes I just don't want to like or react when people are hurting in some way. I guess we all are improvising. I know all my life I was pretending and faking it, but never made it. Sorry, just I feel so sad and blue. Honestly, good thing I don't drink, because in this state of mind I wouldn't be able to stop this time. See you next year. Wishing everyone well.

  4. Yes, you have to move or copy the profile folder to its new location manually. That's why I said an advance warning would have been nice. But since it wasn't an intentional change.... ... it's now understandable why there was no warning about the change! I agree; although unintended, this change opened up a can of worms! I see what you're saying: you want to use the same profile for both, so you needed it changed back. Which @roytam1 has now done, so you're OK. For @RainyShadow and me, who want separate profiles, your shortcut method will work, but it's rather brittle; e.g., if I have shortcuts both in my Start menu and on my desktop, I have to change them all. (Or, I suppose they could be one-line .bat files instead of shortcuts, with the shortcuts pointing to the .bat files.) For the "default browser" issue @VistaLover mentioned, I suppose you could give the default browser the default profile, and use shortcuts (possibly along with a .bat file) to force the other browser to use its own profile - as long as you remember to redo everything if you change default browsers - and let's not even bring up what happens if you use the Open With browser extension! That's why @RainyShadow suggested checking another location for profiles.ini. You wouldn't have to use it, so things would still be back to normal for you, but we'd have a way to have separate default profiles even though they're back in the same folder now. The only thing is, I don't know how hard that would be to code.

  6. Reminder that Chrome Web Store is intentionally broken in the "ungoogled" version. The best route I have found to return a degree of functionality to Chrome Web Store but to do it without the telemetry/tracker/persistent-cookie is to manually install this extension -- https://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/265228/ Scroll down to the Download Now section and click the Crx4Chrome download link (the other links should work as well, I have only ever used the Crx4Chrome link). Note that the download will download without any "where to save" dialog, it will download to your default directory as set in chrome://settings/downloadSetting. To manually install, drag-and-drop this .crx file onto "empty whtie space" on your chrome://extensions/ page. You should get a dialog asking to confirm installation - click the Add button (then close the self-advert nuisance tab). Now whenever you visit a Chrome Web Store addon page, you can download the .crx directly and manually install as opposed to installing via the Chrome Web Store.

  9. Yes, you both @Mathwiz and @VistaLover were correct. https://www.wetv.com/ Worked up until last month, oh well, still have a lot of movie and tv sites (for now). WeTV does work on 360 V13 and DC Browser.

  10. It probably tries to connect to OE Classic' s Activation Server, a now popular method for activating payware; the AS checks the validity of used license code (being legitimately acquired/"whitelisted" and not being shared beyond the sanctioned number of different devices/installations); should be easy to discover the hostname/IP of the Activation Server it tries to connect to via a MITM proxy; I suppose software like ProxHTTPsProxy could be used for that task... You probably want an "off-line" activation method for your work copy, but the author may respond, and rightly so, that such a method hasn't been provisioned for an app (e-mail client) that has to connect to the web for its intended (premium) functions... FWIW, their order page promises "instant" access (in bold) to the premium features ... https://www.oeclassic.com/order

  11. It occurs to me that WETV would be a great set of call letters for a US TV station, but a quick search shows there are none with those call letters. ... Presumably refers to https://www.wetv.com/ a US-exclusive streaming service I can't test from my location ... If it's anything to go by, the homepage renders "problematically" in St52/UXP, with humongous "social media" icons taking up most of screen room...

At such times, I try to remind myself that this too shall pass. I've been sober all my life, can you imagine?

  20. It occurs to me that WETV would be a great set of call letters for a US TV station, but a quick search shows there are none with those call letters. A few quick postscripts to this saga: First, Serpent 55 (thus presumably all UXP browsers as well: Serpent 52, NM 28, IceApe, etc.) work with Office 365's Webmail page, so that may be the easiest option for XP users. It's certainly the cheapest! Second, paying the OE Classic authors $37 wasn't the end of the story, at least for me. They did send me my license code, but when I tried to activate OE Classic, it tried to connect to the Internet, and failed. I don't know which site it's trying to connect to, but it's evidently blocked by ForcePoint (our company's Internet censorware). I have a proxy server set up to bypass ForcePoint, but naturally, OE Classic doesn't seem to honor the system proxy settings! So I couldn't activate OE Classic and get rid of that damn ad in outgoing emails. I emailed the author but have yet to receive a reply. If they don't come up with a solution, I'll have to ask for a refund. I assume the purpose of OE Classic accessing the Internet is to ensure the same license code can't be used to activate more than one copy. That makes OE Classic considerably more expensive: if I need a home copy, a work copy, and a laptop copy, that's $111; quite a bit steeper than it sounded at $37! So even if they do come up with a solution for #2, I may still ask for a refund and just use #1 instead. Or I could activate it on XP but use (free) Mozilla Thunderbird for the other two PCs.

You don't have to use the same profile for NM27 and NM28, you only have the choice if you want to or not - and this is what counts because some like you don't and some like me want to. It doesn't matter if both share the same profiles.ini, you can have one profile for NM27 and one for NM28, f.e.: [General] StartWithLastProfile=1 [Profile0] Name=NM27 IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/12345678.NM27 [Profile1] Name=NM28 IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/abcdefgh.NM28 Now just create two shortcuts with the right targets and put them to your desktop / start menu / quick launch bar, f.e.: NM27's shortcut target: X:\..\NewMoon27\palemoon.exe -no-remote -p NM27 NM28's shortcut target: X:\..\NewMoon28\palemoon.exe -no-remote -p NM28 Note the two profiles named NM27 and NM28 - there is practically no chance to open the wrong profile by accident and you don't need the profile manager to start the right profile! Nothing offensive, I just want to help you to get these things sorted. I came into this profile stuff because I'm also hoarding a lot of tabs (hundreds in each profile) and sometimes need a fresh profile, especially when someone is complaining that the browser is sooooo slow. I wouldn't recommend the method, if I would have had any of the problems you described. There were no corrupted profiles and open links from documents always worked like intended - open default browser with the right profile. BTW it's always a good idea to have a back-up! kind regards soggi

  27. The main issue is, if you have both NM27 and NM28, you have to pick the right profile on each start because they share the same profiles.ini file. What if the wrong browser gets accidentally started (through a file association, misclick, etc.)? When you have the NM27 profile set as default, simply running NM28 will use that profile too and mess it up. When each major version has it's own separate set of profiles, there is no risk of one browser screwing with the profile of another.

The site loads fine via spoofing a "pure" Firefox UA, e.g. : "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0"
