As far as I know, you need a license only for the premium features like real-time protection and so on. Without a licence, Malwarebytes should be able to be used as an offline scanner. Try it and you will see! I own a lifetime license, therefore I never used the free version.1 point

Just as an off-topic aside, my latest 64 bit Firefox on Windows 10 only made 51.3 on Speedometer, and the latest Edge made 72.1. The mind boggles as to what you must have to have to get into the red zone on the speedometer graphic! Perhaps it's just for show......1 point

14 years, let me see... The end of 2008, people were buying Quads in huge quantities, smth like Q9550 was on the top of popularity list (price/performance). Such PC could still handle 360 explorer with no problems ! eMachines T3656 looks like a very underspecced PC for that era, like it was stolen from school or smth., no offence, lol.1 point

For the old ones, of course! BTW, Malwarebytes' versions 1 and 2 were abandonded. No more definition updates! But, versions 3 and 4 are supported. The last version compatible with Windows XP is Malwarebytes (Premium) for Windows 3.5.1.2522. It still receives definition updates. but no more program updates, of course. Truth be told, I had problems with installing Malwarebytes (Premium) for Windows 3.5.1.2522. On my Windows XP computer, I finally couldn't properly run this version in the past, but others didn't seem to have such problems. Anyway, all a bit strange! Maybe, there was an incompatibility with Avast! I might try it one last time as I have removed Avast! completely in the meanwhile.1 point

Hi everyone, Would anyone be able to provide me with a full step-by-step tutorial on how to get the Windows Update website up and running again? Right now I'm trying to get specifically the Windows Update v3 website up. I want to mention that I already have all the files for v3. If anyone is able to provide me with the detailed steps to get the website running and how to access the website through other machines, please let me know. Thanks.1 point

Of course; winPenPack authors Team "last revision: 10.11.2012" from ReadMe ... All versions above v49: on XP you have window after click on launch browser link: Chrome.exe - Point d'entrée introuvable (in English: Entry point not found) (AcquireSRWLockExclusive in KERNEL32.dll). So forget recent X-Chromium for XP ... Too forget MiniBrowser - if you've Windows XP SP2, like me (SetProcessDEPPolicy missing in KERNEL32.dll...)1 point

I look forward to know what those reasons were/are. Did it cast you a 'pretty penny'? I have a few pennies that are pretty and shiny.1 point

https://sourceforge.net/projects/winpenpack/files/X-Chromium/releases/ In the above link, there's a win32_rev17.zip version. Not sure if that's what you need.1 point

Another browser I have is called X-Chromium. I prefer the Ungoogled but there are probably ways to ungoogle X-Chromium. https://www.winpenpack.com/en/download.php?view.10821 point

Day 4 (technically as far as time goes; its day 5 without the benzo). Now out of the woods I'm afraid. Very shaky but I slept hard and like a rock so that helped. Thank you for your support, means more than you'll ever know.1 point

Create a DNS zone in your DNS called v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com, then create a Host Record (A). Enter the Ip of your server at the bottom, then validate and close the DNS. In IIS, create a new website called v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com (in Site name), and enter this in Host name too. Set the IP address to "All IPs", then enter the physical path where you store Windows Update, and here you go! To access Windows Update in virtual machines, type the IP of your server in their DNS settings (this is for the client).1 point

My findings after testing the new version on a somewhat period correct machine: - msi afterburner is still broken, no error code, just "MSIAfterburner has stopped working" - furmark 1.31 installer does not launch and every version higher than 1.21.1.0 the installer glitches so you basically have no buttons and can't do anything besides stop it from task manager - in prime95, cinebench r15 and r20 my core 2 quad q9550 is being recognized as a 1 core 4 threads cpu but cinebench r11.5 and cpu-z do recognize it correctly; the performance isn't affected in r15 (r20 launches but fails the test) but it is quite odd (i did manually set it to 4 processors in system configuration and it is the same) - kaspersky is back (don't care about other peoples opinion on this kgb virus or whatever they call it and i'm not russian), but i don't use firefox anymore and i remember it crashing only when using this specific browser - minecraft 1.18+ still fails to load into worlds (this starts to happen with snapshot 21w42a of minecraft 1.18) I need some software that works the way msi afterburner does because my gtx 770 gets hot and i can't set the fan speed to what i want1 point
