Huh, i kinda don't get the joke here. Maybe i should have said "letters" instead? Or "non ISO-8859-1 letters"? Did you try with paths containing ä, ö, ü or ß? Or you don't have a German keyboard layout installed there? It doesn't matter what you see, but what the programs "see". You didn't get squares in your C:\Prox HTTPS Proxy\ path, but it still failed before, right? - - - Anyways, apologies for interfering with your private party, will try to avoid it in the future.3 points

@Dietmar Same way as double devce definition was fixed, jump opcode pointer to next object Just wait fix in few days2 points

I think the documentation is absolutely fine. My only very minor observation is that the installation instruction implied (at least to me!) that you have to copy the whole program folder to your desired location, keeping the same folder name. That isn't the case of course, you can just copy the sub-folders and files from the folder to a new folder with a different name, and it still works fine. Being very picky here I realise!2 points

Note: VMware Workstation 16 used. Most people say that Windows NT 4 has a limit of 4GB and it is impossible to exceed that limit, However this can be exceeded. You will need: Windows NT 4 (For obvious reasons) Service Pack 6 (High Encryption required for server) A Partitioning/Hard disk utility (Such as Gparted) 1 (If you are doing a clean install) 1. Start installing Windows NT 4. Once at the partitioning screen create a partition. (4095 MB is the maximum you are allowed to create for now) 1b. Format the partition as NTFS. FAT does not work. 2. Finish installing NT 4. 2b. Don't worry if you see a conversion screen, It's normal. 3. Once installed, Install Service Pack 6. (Again, Make sure it's high encryption (128) if your using NT 4 Server) 3b. If you do not install Service Pack 6, NT will fail to boot after partitioning. 4. After installation, Install or boot a partition/hard disk utility (Note: Not all of them may work) (You can even use a Windows Vista and above CD\DVD\ISO) 5. Once in, change the partition size to however you like! (I used 20GB) 5b. If you use a Windows Vista and above CD\DVD\ISO, Use the extend option (Which is at the choose partition screen) to change the size. 5c. If you get error code 0xE0000100, you should consider changing to IDE, or load your SCSI Drivers. (Which for VMware, is in the VMware Tools CD) 5d. If you change to IDE, It should be ok to switch back after 6. After all of that, It should all be done! If you already have installed NT 4, all you have to do is make sure you have converted your partition to NTFS. Some FAT/FAT32 recovery/antivirus software may also not work, However this is kind of obvious. Tell me any question below and I will try to respond. -Nerdulater2 points

To prevent user confusion, I strongly recommend disregarding the tutorials and contacting me directly instead about the extended kernel. The original post was removed as it was continuing to confuse users. There will be further discussion about the evolution of the extended kernel in the coming pages.1 point

Hard sometimes to deal with fatigue. Just as a side note: Be cautious about looking forward to the end of the day or "completing' your day(s) 10 years went (flew) by so fast at the blink of an eye and you can't get it back - 50 is less that a year away. Try (hard, I know) to not miss out on even the smallest of bright spots, sometimes seeing somebody walking or running with their pet makes you realize the dog it (actually) walking the human - or both. Try to listen to nature - the birds - ocean waves (if you can find) or look at fish ... nature never lets you down when seeking comfort. <OT> Hmmm ... wonder that average lifespan of a blobfish1 point

Thanks for your feedback! A bit picky, indeed! But you was the one who found spaces problem first. So maybe it's good to be a bit picky! Anyway, I wrote this documentation for those either who are not familiar with file systems and structures. I try to get into a common user's mind. It has to be as simple as possible. Therefore it is much easier to say "copy whole folder". Of course, the name of program folder doesn't matter but its relative file structure. If the user is experienced, he'll find out that the name of main program folder can be changed. Anyway, glad to hear that the documentation is "absolutely fine". Great! Thanks so far! Ignoring Connection broke access to SHS3 from other part of DSDT to parse this new opcode, Win8 acpi.sys has new ParseFieldConnection((_ctxt *pctxt, XXX *pConnection)) to store connection config, _FieldDesc has new fields, last field has variable len: I think these new fileds used in some field functions read/write/access to connection alias SHS31 point

@Dave-H When you find a Bios for the Flex 10, version 93cn25ww.exe, 93cn27ww.exe, 93cn28ww.exe and maybe also 93cn50ww.exe you can flash it without risk (nearly) via win8.1 (or win10, I have not tested). At once all will work under XP SP3 Dietmar PS: And maybe, that @Mov AX, 0xDEAD find a solution, how to exclude in DSDT acpi5 words. Win10 and Win8.1 can live without acpi5 words in DSDT, I tested.1 point

At the Windows 11 OOBE, On newer bulids, You can't select the option to use a offline account. Like the XBOX One. Working around it is pretty simple. Note:This workaround was made by Microsoft, Meaning it's unlikely it will be removed. Tested on 21H2. 1.At the create account screen, Hit SHIFT+F10. You'll see a command prompt window. 2. Type 'oobe\bypassnro' or cd oobe and then 'bypassnro' Your computer will reboot. 3.Then once the reboot completes hit 'continue with limited setup' and on your way! Comment if there's any problems. -Nerdulater1 point

I installed 11 a few months ago, and it's a double edged sword. It's for some like Vista, No. A sad version of Vista. At least Vista added things such as Media Center and UAC and it let you install it on old hardware. 11 added rounded corners (Useless), useless requirements (Scam), Dropped x86 support (Sad day for old computers), Made a internet connection and Microsoft account mandatory like XBOX. (Even more useless) Centered start menu (Stolen idea from apple) New context menu (UWP crap) and so much more i do not like. And SOMEHOW, I ended up deleting my Windows 10 20H2 install. I hate my life as you can see. Don't like it.1 point

Depends on your line in the sand. I tinker and optimize and do my thing. And when one of the brothers is over and I boot up a machine, I kinda enjoy that they think we need to walk away from the computer and "wait" for it to boot up because they think computers need three minutes to boot up but mine boots in twenty seconds. And I just laugh and laugh and laugh when they throw out, "No way! That thing is like 15 years old and mine is brand new, why is mine so SLOW?" Because you installed using "defaults". "It's not rocket science." But I draw the line at chasing my tail like a dog on some things I see folks around here do that I don't see any benefit to - but to each their own.1 point

First month of tethered mobile done. Keeping household data consumption under 10 GB per month is no big here, adequate for news, weather, comics, research, logins, general browsing, music, lower definition video and updating several GNU/Linux systems and browsers. The current network is only 3G so speed is relatively slow but functional. Though 10 GB of monthly data consumption isn't much by modern standards, in the Windows 9x era it would fill more than 7000 floppy disks (1.4 MB capacity). Windows 98 seems good at resolving a network connection during runtime if the router isn't available at boot. ***** Reviewed Windows 98's 'Automatic Skip Driver Agent (ASD)'. Running C:\WINDOWS\ASD.EXE provides a GUI popup listing any issues. Here 'MSTCP' and 'USB Hub' are flagged. Not sure why TCP was flagged on this seasoned system, probably when deciding whether to put it online or swapping network adapters, don't recall. Re-checking MSTCP and rebooting removed this ASD flag, ethernet works fine here. The USB flag is being ignored, intentionally disabled for this Windows 98 build. What is ASD (Automatic Skip Driver Agent)? ASD stands for Automatic Skip Driver Agent, is a Microsoft Windows 98 built-in utility that allows you to bypass troublesome devices so that Windows 98 can successfully boot. How it works The Automatic Skip Driver Agent (ASD) identifies device failures that caused Windows 98 to stop responding on previous attempts to boot the system and marks these devices so that the boot process skips them on subsequent boot attempts. Once you have finished troubleshooting a device problem, you can use ASD to enable the device to see whether the device has begun to function properly. If the device fails again, ASD will again disable it. Disabled devices can be viewed and reenabled by running ASD again from the command line with the command asd.exe or from the System Information utility in the System Tools program group. Device Manager shows disabled devices with a yellow exclamation point. During startup, Windows 98 tries to load device drivers for installed hardware. ASD keeps track of device driver failures by identifying which devices cannot be enumerated during startup. If attempts to load the device driver for a device fail two times, ASD disables the device so that Windows 98 can start properly. ***** FreeDOS formally released v1.3 recently after five Release Candidates, long live DOS.1 point
