  2. I still have some viruses from around 10-15 years ago vaulted in a couple of email accounts. Certainly there are others that "preserve" them, the same way people archive software.

  4. The 1st and most improtant thing to do is to dress in a perfectly white three-piece suit with a sky-blue silk shirt and a white silk tie. Add to that a white Borsalino hat with a sky-blue ribbon (not black) and blue-lensed John Lennon style glasses. Then orient your computer so that, while seated in front of it, you're facing due north. And there you go!

  6. @dencorso... that's weird. I'm gonna try again and I'm gonna reboot my pc this time. Perhaps it didn't update the settings for whatever reason, or perhaps it was just the cache. Anyway, I contacted Microsoft and I have very good news: Screenshot: Full Chat:

  7. And yet, changing security.tls.version.max to 4, closing and reopening FF 52 esr does work... I don't understand why it didn't work for you (notice that I'm spoofing the NT version as 6.1, however, if that makes any difference).

  8. @Mathwiz, yeah there are addons that will do the same thing, I've got Custom UserAgent String installed in firefox 60 that lets you custom sites to a specific user string and in fact I've done that with youtube and a few others. Or I might try general.useragent.override.www.youtube.com, that's sounds like a good idea. Eventually I'll get around to it in basilisk but I have a feeling google will probably remove their old layout soon anyway, they seem determined to change things around every year with something new and worse.

  9. Yes, Windows 10 supports themes of a sort, without having to patch dll files, or inject other dlls, into your system. Such themes are limited to colours, backgrounds, sounds and mouse cursors, however. Yet the Windows 10 engine is capable of altering much more than just the things just mentioned - buttons, titlebars, scrollbars and the like can all, in principle, be changed. Microsoft doesn't really want you to do this, preferring for its users to work with a mostly uniform interface. This is not surprising, really. The look of its interface helps Microsoft set Windows 10 aside from, for instance, Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8. This is important from a marketing viewpoint as these OSes are otherwise very similar. Strip away Windows 'app' support, a few security features, and a lot of telemetry, and Windows 10 is not so very different from 7. By using Bigmuscle's dll file, or applying patches to Windows' own dll files, users can 'relax' Microsofts' restrictions, and essentially do what Microsoft does every time it launches a new version of its OS. My own Windows 10 desktop currently looks almost identical to Windows 7, as you can see from the images below (note that I've also changed the icons, and installed a start menu replacer). Others prefer more radical changes - DeviantArt is a good place to start if you are interested in Windows 'skinning'. Do please note that patching Windows dll files can, potentially, be risky, so always make sure that you have proper backups and the means to recover your system should anything go wrong.

  15. Forget about UxTSB method then. AppInit_DLLs is the only known reliable way to get that DLL in winlogon.exe without causing chaos. I don't think anything will be done about this. It's just too messy. I mean, remember UxStyle? A kernel driver just to be able to load those stupid .msstyles, which are nothing more than a bunch of images and some other random data values. Yes, a slightly modified version of this theme. When I installed 17134 build for the first time, I wanted to give the method that Aero Glass uses a shot again. At first, it seemed to have worked. But when shutting down, winlogon.exe was crashing continously, delaying the shutdown process. On the unrelated note, an interesting project, NTVDM for 64-bit Windows. I mention it because it also relies on AppInit_DLLs. The thing is, the obsession with security, or more precisely, protecting the clueless users from bad software has gone through the roof. There are so many restrictions in place; it's nuts. Recent builds of Windows 10 can even hijack CPU virtualization feature to protect its important processes or something along those lines. Well, it's off by default, but think about it. I rather have virtual machines running smoothly than having something as radical as that enabled for the false sense of security. Though it's also true that not everyone uses virtual machines.

  16. It's my pleasure! Thanks, I have added this information to the list. Awesome! Done. In other news, now that we're in August, this marks the final month that Firefox 52 ESR will receive security updates, thus the absolute final version of Mozilla Firefox for Windows Vista (and XP) will be released this month. I'm not sure the exact date that this will end, but I'd recommend Vista/XP users still on Firefox switch over to one of Roytam1's browsers, as to my knowledge these will be the only options left that continue to be updated on these operating systems after August 2018. Also, SeaMonkey 2.49.4 was released on July 27, and I'd say it's safe to assume that this will be the final version for Windows Vista since Firefox 52 ESR support ends this month. I won't list it just yet but if you use SeaMonkey on Vista, I would expect this version to be the last...

  17. According to FileHippo (Technical tab), it was June 12, 2018; same thing is suggested by the vendor themselves at: https://helpx.adobe.com/shockwave/release-note/release-notes-shockwave-12.html
