  2. Many thanks for this EOL build of Basilisk on the moebius platform! Happily running it on Vista SP2 32-bit, it seems there's a small "discrepancy" with it: In the Basilisk part of the default User-Agent-String, it reports the same as the previous (buildID=20180203134243) of your builds that I upgraded from; see following screenshots: 1. This is from the "about:" tab: <blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/uFVfx"><a href="//imgur.com/uFVfx"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script> 2. This is from the "about:support" tab: <blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/VdOr8"><a href="//imgur.com/VdOr8"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Up to now, that part of the default UA string matched the date part of the buildID string, so I'd expect this (last) build to report Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/4.0 Firefox/55.0 Basilisk/20180218 Of course, this small little "issue" can be remedied by a manual new string pref in about:config general.useragent.override;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/4.0 Firefox/55.0 Basilisk/20180218 but I can't help wondering if it's due to some small oversight before/during compilation ... Best wishes from the other side of the globe
  3. Newest Adobe Flash and Shockwave, and Java, too!

Beta channel for Adobe Flash Player has been updated. Version was released February 22, 2017. Tested and working on Windows XP. Internet Explorer ActiveX: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player_ax.exe Mozilla Firefox NPAPI, and NPAPI for Google Chrome 44 and older: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player.exe Google Chrome 45 to 49 PPAPI: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe Old version uninstaller: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/uninstall_flash_player.exe
  4. Latest Version of Software Running on XP

Does anyone know how to use Resource Hacker? I have a feeling the drop of support is an artificial limitation, and that there is a modification that needs to be made to the .exe installer to run it on Windows XP.
  5. Today
  6. Last few days, I've suddenly been receiving response-alert emails from MSFN for all the postings here, after years when that didn't work. I guess the plumber finally showed up. However, just now today, clicking on those emails from MSFN in my XP machine (Outlook Express 6) triggers security certificate warnings. But that wasn't happening the last few days. Finally, my ntfs.sys is version 5.1.2600.7392. Only thing I've noticed is that last month or so my XP machine is a tad slow. (Also a bit of smoke, leaks, smells and extended coffee breaks.) Should I try to downdate it? (I already UNinstalled KB4074852.) Thanks.
  7. Yes! That's the latest working one. I'm using it on all my XP SP3 machines, too. FTW, it comes inside KB969262 hotfix.
  8. POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU

I actually had to downgrade NTFS.SYS to 5.1.2600.5782 on Win98 because it kept crashing with Sysinternals NTFS for Windows 98. I have and they work without issues (updated U98SESP3.EXE as well). I can access all NTFS Partitions just fine now. AUTOCHK.EXE 5.0.2195.6881 C_1252.NLS Windows XP SP3 CD C_437.NLS Windows XP SP3 CD L_INTL.NLS Windows XP SP3 CD NTDLL.DLL 5.1.2600.7330 NTFS.SYS 5.1.2600.5782 NTOSKRNL.EXE 5.1.2600.7392
  9. Not in this thread, no. If it's related to XP x64, open a new thread in the XP x64 subforum, that's how it's done.
  10. I wonder if it's appropriate to talk about other software other then browsers? Or will I need to create or join an existing forum related to what I want to talk about?
  11. Hi im Steve

    Welcome to the MSFN!
  12. Why would MS release and update that literally does nothing more than break stuff? Passive aggressive attempt at forcing people to upgrade, maybe? c
  13. Many functions are removed so it suppose to happen
  14. Hello, MSFN!

    Welcome to the MSFN!
  15. Google removes "View Image" button

Two things on this point, one is that in order for that disallow right-click (or pop-up on right-click) you need to enable javascript to run on that site. Second is that for Mozilla browsers there is a "View Image Information" option in the developer toolbar. When this is used, it will open a new page showing all images on the page where you can save-as or see the direct link to the image. There are some websites where this doesn't work, the ones I have seen even block this is some Japanese sites. I haven't looked into why that is. The only other issue is that some websites (notably wikia) are delivering images in WEBP extension and some of these sites that use WEBP you can't find the original image URL. Some you can just by choosing to view image or open image in new tab. Some will show the original filename you can save, some are in the URL and you have to remove attributes, others only point to the webp.
  16. There are multiple things wrong here. User is ghosted and this thread is locked.
  17. Notepad3 v3.18.222.905 (2018-02-22)

Hereunder an incomplete list of changes/differences: Changes compared to Flo's official Notepad2 (made in Notepad2-mod): https://github.com/rizonesoft/Notepad3#changes-compared-to-flos-official-notepad2-made-in-notepad2-mod Changes compared to the Notepad2-mod fork: https://github.com/rizonesoft/Notepad3#changes-compared-to-the-notepad2-mod-fork A list of all changes : Notepad3 All Changelogs: https://github.com/rizonesoft/Notepad3/blob/master/Build/Changes.txt The support for "XP" is dropped from version 3. Older Builds for "XP Users" can be found here : https://www.datumza.com/rizonesoft-notepad3/
  18. Good catch. I missed that. And the original is better formatted, with some bold typeface etc. Cheers and Regards
  19. Notepad3 v3.18.222.905 (2018-02-22)

I can't find any place where changes/improvements compared to Notepad2-mod are listed. When I look at both the Notepad2-mod and Notepad3 sites, and compare the "Changes compared to Notepad2", which they both list, the only differences I see are that Notepad3 adds syntax highlighting support for CoffeeScript and VHDL scripts. Notepad3 also has "prettier toolbar icons" and fixed some "bugs" (unspecified, and I'm not aware of any in the current Notepad2-mod release). [These differences are from the initial release announcement on 2016-07-20, but I have not been able to find anything more current.] Are those the only differences? Is there any other reason that anyone would want to use one over the other? By the way, for XP users, Notepad3 dropped support for XP after build 450, while Notepad2-mod still supports XP with the latest release, and even supports Win2K using builds r856 and earlier. Cheers and Regards

  21. I've just tried installing @heinoganda's modified KB4074852, and my second Ethernet connection has come back to life. Another symptom of the buggy oleaut32.dll!
  22. Notepad3 v3.18.222.905 (2018-02-22): The original Notepad shipped with Windows is probably the handiest program of all times, small, fast, without frills! Notepad3 tries to follow this principle, it’s a fast and light-weight Scintilla-based text editor with syntax highlighting. It has a small memory footprint, but is powerful enough to handle most programming jobs. Features include code folding, bracket matching, automatic indentation, word auto-completion, convert character encoding between various formats (ASCII, UTF-8, and UTF-16), newline format conversion (between DOS (CR/LF), Unix (LF), and Macintosh (CR) formats), multiple undo or redo, bookmarks, and regular expression-based find and replace. Notepad3 changes and improves upon many of Notepad2 and Notepad2-mod's features. 23. In orher words, the US government is the last one to know, and they are pretty much p***ed about this. The interesting part is however the last sentence: The key here is WHICH antivirus software makers were notified several weeks in advance, only US firms or also non-US one, including - only as an example - the not-so-much-appreciated by government's guys Kaspersky Lab? jaclaz
  24. Hmmm. It seems a lot like a (senseless) re-post of a thread by TrevMUN with the date changed. The actual article linked to is actually dated April 12, 2017, and the leading "I'm not even mad, I'm impressed" and ending "pruno-PC" seems waay too distinctive to be a coincidence. So, I don't think that Dang Dong Ho is a bot of kinds (though bots often declare having Vista Business as OS, for *whatever reaons*), as those rarely change the dates, but if it is a human, WHY (the heck) did he made this re-post? jaclaz
  25. Agreed, also if you can find any fix for nvwgf2umx.dll crashing on selective pages on palemoonx64 please do let me know (no issues in IE9 and Firefox) might be a driver flaw itself though
  26. Tried it and preview has shown no expected result.
