  2. The key does not work (aero glass)

Thanks for your reply must have been smth wrong with the key got a new one and... success !!!! and a BIG THANK YOU for Aero Glass !
  3. This may seem odd, since its a list of instructions for different systems: http://wiki.cacert.org/FAQ/ImportRootCert But atleast for Firefox theres a description to import the Certs of "Cacert". http://wiki.cacert.org/FAQ/BrowserClients#Mozilla_Firefox I dont know which certificate popups on which pages or which issues you have. I can however report that I had troubles logging in my outlook mail on Firefox 3.6 or Opera 12.02 some times. Sometimes it would work other times not. I did import the Certs for Opera the way it was mentioned in one of these sections "Microsoft Internet Explorer" Manual Installation (for a single user) " or "Microsoft Windows" single user . Not sure which one particular. It seems outlook.com opened again without issue. The menu to import certificates in Opera ofcourse is somewhere different to find than firefox or IE. Cant really say if it made any bigger different. But when I updated CaCerts on a Android Phone a few https pages that would normally not show-up did open however. If you got time you can give it a try.

  5. Ok. I wanted to leave out the www for both links but somehow forgot that. On my Android phone its before version 4.0 only one of these two pages did show up the https results. The other one (Google) only http. Going to the https version would show a "Webpage not available" message. And I would assume that https is in your case 57% faster than http or simple math its a 1,611 s difference in speed. Or if you see it the other way round if you could only browse with http it would mean a speed lose of 75% (+1,611 s) compared to https . I Just dont know why the http:// version works and the https:// not regarding googles page on my android phone. Also other pages with https sometimes also dont open.
  6. My MSI 1050Ti just died and I wondered if I could use this until I get my card back from MSI? The 5670 would have to be better than the on-board graphics. Thanks, Bob
  7. Open regedit go to key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Set EnableSIHostIntegration to 0 Then install startisback, to have some of the disabled feature available again(like start menu, closing windows from taskbar) logoff to take effect
  8. POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU

Ah, thank you very much. I guess the most relevant part would be this:
  9. Bandicam

There is a version that works on Win98?
  10. MS18-02-2K8_INTL: https://community.ivanti.com/docs/DOC-66122
  11. POSReady 2009 updates ported to Windows XP SP3 ENU

Umm, sorry for this maybe stupid question, but... What exactly does KB4074852 even do, or what is it supposed to fix? I can't find any actual information about that, no Technet article, no CVE numbers or anything.
  12. The Trusteer Rapport 2018 issue with XP Search

In my VM I noticed with the versions 3.5.1804.xxx that they could not be uninstalled. There were no problems with the 3.5.1609.xxx versions.
  13. Aero Glass GUI

Hi, I've one question about Aero Glass GUI. Most of these sliders doesn't work for me. Un(checking) checkxboxes also don't make any difference. Practically I can change only glass opacity and blur effect radius. Also title bars for inactive windows are unreadable. Currently I haven't any custom theme, becuase I've updated my W10 to Fall Creators Update (finally), but before with W7 theme the problem was exact the same. I tried to reinstall Aero Glass or download again AG GUI. I open it with admin rights. Changing "Caption glow effect" now doesn't make any difference too, before it partially work but gave strange results. Inactive text was gray too, but it had glow effect.
  14. Of course, if you actually use it and are aware of the risks. There are plenty of people, though, who have it installed simply because they did a full installation, have never used it and probably don't even know about the functionality. I think it makes sense for them to remove it.
  15. Well, I for one, will keep v.2017.8.14.0, regardless. I consider it useful, been using EQNEDT32 since my Word 2 for Windows times. One of the most valuable forms of human freedom is the freedom to act against what one's paranoia might cause one to consider one's own self-interest. Nothing is safe, anyway.
  16. @glnz Also, Equation Editor deemed unfixable and purged by Microsoft, remove it from Office 2000/XP/2003/etc. ASAP.

Congratulations Dave! You're now the OP of a new thread. I think I gave it a passable title, but you may change it at will, by editing the 1st post, as you know. I'm not positive I've caught all the pertinent posts, so please do revise both this an the parent thread for posts out of place. Is it fully solved now? Hope so. If not, then do try v. 3.5.1609.100... and read this, too: it's what makes me think all of those v. 3.5.1804.* may not work right. Of course, it's just my 2¢.
  18. Yes. If she has Office 2003, all updates to Office 2003 should be installed. Moreover, If (and only if) the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack is also installed, then ALL updates to the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack must be installed, else not.
  19. Official - Windows 10 Worst Crap Ever!

Thanks, but I'm already there. Thing is, I'm getting tired of RE-tweaking it, then having to watch carefully for all the ways Microsoft tries to untweak it (WaaS Medic, scheduled tasks, etc.). And lately my v1709 Win 10 VM just won't update any more. It just gets to near completion then reverts itself, without any clue about what's gone wrong. I restored my fresh install and even IT won't update either, not even from a .msu from the catalog. It shows that all viability of this OS being the basis for a serious computing environment is gone. At this point I'm just getting fatigued from paddling against Microsoft's formidable current of spew. When v1709 came out I fantasized about waiting until the waypoint formerly known as CBB, but I didn't and nothing good came of it. The magic is SO gone. That they've eliminated CBB entirely proves that they're no longer serious about Windows at all. For 1803 maybe I just won't make an updated VM at all, or maybe only if a customer reports a problem to me that requires I bring the latest version up. It was fun while it lasted. -Noel
  20. It still identify itself as "55", but it is 52ESR based.
  21. Sorry to interrupt with an off-topic question, but my wife's Win 7 Pro 64-bit machine (important for her business) has Office 2003 (and also Excel 2013). Should I run any of the Office 2007 Compatibility updates? If yes, which ones from this link: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=2007+Compatibility ? (Or should I use a different search?) And what do you think about the two on Bersaglio's recent list (at THIS SPOT) ? Thanks.

  24. Latest Version of Software Running on XP

In a similar vein, the very popular LAV Filters have also dropped Windows XP support: Those filters are FFmpeg based, the removal of WinXP support most probably comes as the result of FFmpeg itself excluding by default now XP as a build target... So, the last WinXP compatible release of LAV Filters is 0.70.2 (released on Jul 5, 2017).
  25. Thank you @roytam1 I really appreciate your hard work.
