  2. You're right. My Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit is fully updated including all POSReady 2009 updates. But this was never a problem. And uBlock Origin 1.57.2 works fine here in single-process mode. Thus, I don't think that the problem is related to the POSReady 2009 patches. But thanks for your opinion!
  3. Might be, I said I don't recall exactly, just seem to (mis?)remember that LED on USB flash drives always powered down on my Windows systems (if this is any indication), but it's been a while since I've actually used Windows 7 specifically and don't have a usable Win7 install at hand to test. Win7 was my main OS in the older days. I wanted to point out generalizations may not be 100% accurate. For example, if I "eject" my phone on XP x64, it still charges. If I do that on Win10, charging stops.
  4. @AstroSkipper If I remember well, your computer is full of Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 patches. Perhaps that the issue comes from that. Your OS isn't anymore a real XP and I don't think that @feodor2 has installed all these patches on his computers. Comparing yours results will be very complicated. Regards
  5. Hello!, i recently discovered this helpful site to introduce me to the world of modern device drivers written for old opperating systems! I hope to find many more interesting topics here along the way -Aaron
  6. Hello! I have recently tried downloaing and installing WaltersWorld drivers for the HDA controllers, but alas I am greeted with the sound of silence. Sadly Im not hearing any pops when it is loading but when I play a system audio file in sounds the play button doesnt freeze. I would love if someone could point me in the right direction! Thank you
  7. I would like to use Mypal without SSE2 on real hardware (not VMs). I own an old computer (Socket A motherboard) with a Sempron 2800+ processor. I can run Palemoon fork by @roytam1 on it, even if it is slow. But the renderer engine of Palemoon is to much in late on the web standards. Browsers based on chromium are too much heavy and unusable on this computer. So it remains Mypal... But I don't use this computer on a daily basis and even less for surfing as I own many others computers. So If you are not interested and/or if that require a lot of efforts, I understand that and I would like to thank you very much for what you do for the community with Mypal. Regards

  9. Possible. But I have ran both on real hardware on old laptop and from VM on fairly-modern hardware. I get the same results in both - Supermium is the only one pegging at 100% for 2 to 4 minutes, dropping to 2% for 10 seconds, then pegging again for another 2 to 4 minutes. I can only speak towards what I witness - and that is that Thorium works better, much MUCH better, on my hardware. Supermium can NOT be ran from a VM, the 100% CPU is far FAR worse when ran from a VM. But I suppose that's okay, we should be targeting real hardware.
  10. You mentionned your laptop is from 2017 so you most likely have a version 5.00+ eMMC card. I'm not sure if it's possible to make it compatible with Win 8 Beta Build 8056 drivers from 2011.
  11. Then you missed when the OP replied that he doesn't want something in the systray so we had to move away from that suggestion. No clue on assistant service, that is "OT to the OP". I'm liking that phrase, I may trademark it.
  12. My guess is you'd need a natively DX12 supported GPU, as it bypasses to DX12 directly.
  13. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales v1.1116.0.0 This game requires window 10 version 1909 (build 18363) or even later.
  14. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged needs Windows 10
  15. "it speeds up A LOT the browser" https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/514
  16. Why? You wrote they are super duper secure and have "Quantum-resistant encryption to protect email". https://msfn.org/board/topic/186060-tuta-mail-adds-new-quantum-resistant-encryption-to-protect-email/
  17. Both SM an TH have terribly smudged, bright, too light fonts, whereas 360 has good, readable fonts, we already posted screenshots in Supermium topic. The reason I avoid both for now, I got an eye trauma after I fell off the second floor of an old hooch in Africa colonies, while on patrol, so it's especially hard for me to read now. What can I suggest? CatsXP 115 has very good, similar fonts to 360, also it switches off the stupid Direct write. But it *of course* includes China telemetry. Later on, CatsXP went the same road and made those terrible fonts, too! Excuse me for any errors, I temporarily don't see well.
  18. Yes, strange, me neither! Probably some soft conflict?
  19. It's rather expected, my guess is those two clone browsers are more optimized for older single/dual core. HT and the such might only slow it down! @NotHereToPlayGames, go to the BIOS and switch HT to OFF.
  20. Where do you see derailing? I'm replying strictly regarding the tool you yourself suggested to the OP as a replacement for the icon, which it does, btw. The question is why does it need the "assistant" service?
  21. @bookie32 -- after a whole page of derailment, did the above link solve your issue? the discussion in that link can very easily be converted to a desktop .bat file.
  22. No. But more importantly, why the derailing of the OP's topic?
  23. As far as I can tell, it is Thorium that is behaving identical to Ungoogled Chromium v114 as far as fonts on Digital Spy. But I'm unsure if they are doing what they are being "told" to do (at least as far as the first issue, you seem to have two issues here). In any programming language, there is always a degree of "junk in, junk out". You have two things going on. First, your style sheet is MISSING the closing }. Your style sheet should read - from body {font-family: unset !important; to body {font-family: unset !important;} (note that the only difference is the } at the very end. Thorium and Ungoogled v114 both seem to add this missing } "for you". Second, Digital Spy &/or Stylus is not applying your style sheet for "body" to "body h4" (unsure what the official CSS guideline is on this). In your style sheet for Digital Spy, change it - from body {font-family: unset !important;} to body, body * {font-family: unset !important;} (note the added , body * so we catch not only "body" but "body h4" and "body h2", both being used at Digital Spy)
  24. Holy crap, it adds and runs a dedicated service! "Assistant"
  25. I think we all understood it as you use it at home, too, no?
  26. Thank you for calling things for what they are.
  27. The Chrome engine is bloated, it's no surprise, DDR4 improves the situation. Very little the they can do.
