  2. Hi, what tool/s is/are your favorite/s?
  3. I have updated Heinoganda's root certificates, but it seems that the "ISRG Root X2" certificate is missing. Is there an update for this?
  4. OK, I'm giving Thorium 122.0.6261.158 a try on 32 bit XP. I still managed to crash an Instagram tab with an 'out of memory' message, but it was a great deal more difficult to do it with Thorium than it is with Supermium! What seems to happen with Thorium is that as I scroll, the memory use does spiral up, but it gets to a certain point and then drops back again. I can scroll for a long time, and it keeps doing that, but eventually it does crash out. This is unlikely to happen in normal use though I would have thought. With Supermium, the memory just keeps going up, and it crashes relatively quickly. In most other respects the browsers seem to be pretty similar, although on one website I use regularly Thorium does not seem to be loading the web fonts, so the displayed font on the page is wrong. With Supermium, it's fine. Maybe a setting in Thorium? I will have to investigate.
  5. In case anyone has trouble reading through this thread, I can provide this bit of information. Using Dell Optiplex 9020, the LAN HwID is VEN_8086&DEV_153A The driver located in ProEMbSw11.exe in the PRO1000\WinXP Related\PCIe works just using manual update through Device Manager without having to do any file modification. Fortunately, it appears this file is in Archive from when it used to exist on Intel's website: https://web.archive.org/web/20181201110458/http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22928/eng/PROEmbSw11.exe

  8. Yes, the page is displayed, but it is not encrypted.
  9. The problem with the ublock0.sqlite file is the loading of big filter lists. If you then disable these lists at a certain time, they are not actually removed from the ublock0.sqlite file. As a result, this file continues to expand, even though the filter lists responsible for that have not been used any longer.
  10. If that is a test page, it seems to work fine here.
  11. I've noticed this too, however I'm not sure if it's really worth it. This procedure will indeed reduce its size at first, but it will very soon increase back to its usual, larger size which in my case is around 80MB. Not sure how soon that is, but it usually doesn't take more than a day.
  12. If you compare the behaviour of the legacy extension with the webextension, you should only use the same filter lists in both. And you also have to look at which filter lists you combine with each other in order to achieve an optimum result. But one thing is clear. The legacy extension lags almost 6 years behind the webextension in terms of development. This means that the latter uses a much more advanced filter engine than the legacy version.
  13. That's not my question. Does it fails to switch or it switches but doesn't display current language?
  14. You could also find a way to acquire Windows 10 LTSC IoT Enterprise 2021. That should give you updates until 2031.
  15. An interesting thing happened in the site i reported: www.ovagames.com - although the problem with anti-adblock was solved (thanks again AstroSkipper) when you click anywhere in the site ads are opened and they are blocked but sometimes another tab is opened displaying a message saying that the link was reported as bad by easylist. This doesnt happen with firefox with the latest ublock versions.
  16. Is there a solution for the "ISRG Root X2" certificate so that an encrypted connection can be established with 360Chrome? Test page: https://valid-isrgrootx2.letsencrypt.org/
  17. For various users they may be content with simpler alternatives, sure. However I extensively use custom and native taskbar jumplists, application window management and hotkeys all via the existing taskbar. Nothing I've seen replicates this (I don't believe anything can replicate window management or native jumplists that way, even if one can write static custom menus to third-party launchers). While the native taskbar to my knowledge can't be truly hidden, only auto hidden, which for bottom-based taskbars means regular accidental triggering when moving the cursor to the bottom screen bounds, as occurs when doing design work and the whole reason why a vertical taskbar is beneficial. My recent plan was to migrate to W11 but I'm holding off completely if the legacy taskbar will be removed. The plan B will be Windows in a Linux hypervisor if they keep this up.
  18. You can use third party tools to make a vertical application launcher and then hide the taskbar. That's what I mean by a plan b.
  19. Unfortunately Microsoft haven't added any native vertical taskbar to W11 despite all the clamoring for it by users (including even Microsoft employees). The alternative is literally Linux if they continue down the path of stripping features and annoying users (KDE Plasma has a faster and more consistent UI than W11, something I never thought I'd wind up saying, which says more about the state of W11 than KDE). Removing a 30 year old, popular feature is such a bizarre move for a company that has prided itself on compatibility. (Kinda off topic but also on-topic, given my recently reported SAB bugs with the vertical taskbar and their apparent plans to remove legacy fallbacks altogether. I'm more than a little frustrated by MS.)
