  2. Bersaglio you said, "Your wife's system needs at least two additional updates for Office 2003: KB2883042 (critical security update for Excel 2003) and KB4011703 - (security update for mso.dll)." However, the MS Update Catalog does not have KB2883042. Is that the right number, or has it been superseded? Thanks.
  3. @Mcinwwl A consolation I can give you, you were not the first who has sacrificed time with this problem.

  5. Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP

It is a valid root certificate, but considered unsafe by encryption technology. Furthermore, this should be reported to the forum that they should take a safer encryption for their HTML e-mails. The certificate updates of MS are primarily used by companies and not by private users, where they have expired with these unsafe root certificates after expiration and no longer be issued with this vulnerable encryption technology. Keep in mind that this will be removed at the next update of the root certificates!
  6. Thank you, importing that certificate seems to have fixed the errors! I've seen these errors on some spam e-mails, which is not surprising, but there is one active forum which I get notification e-mails from where its header image in the e-mail also throws up a certificate error, which is rather more surprising, and worrying! Just how bad is the security risk in using an untrusted Root Certification Authority? Also, why is this error not showing up in Windows 10?
  7. You're welcome !
  8. New PE Builder for Win 10 PE

Well there is now a new version Beta 3, and all can be done directly with internal commands powered by wimlib, so this means no more wasted time in mounting and unmounting boot.wim and the very big install.wim (that in every new version of 10 is bigger). This is the new way to make a project, similar to the way MistyPE project works using wimlib-imagex but in this case as an external tool. I am sure this are good news and PEBakery Beta 3 will have a great success. @ied206 Congratulations for this new release.!

  10. Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP

In this case, the root certificate "UTN - DATACorp SGC" is required, which uses an insecure encryption and is therefore deleted by MS from the existing root certificates of Windows XP. This certificate is present, when updating the root certificates, in the delroots.sst file (which removes obsolete certificates). So we have an explanation why these problems occur to you. Meaning that you have to install the root certificate "UTN - DATACorp SGC" manually at your own risk.

  12. Sorry for the delay in replying guys! The offending certificate is attached. I exported it in the default format, i hope that's OK. Cheers, Dave. Test.cer
  13. Root Certificates and Revoked Certificates for Windows XP

Do not be angry, but with such information no one can see where the certification chain is broken. View the certificate (this certificate can be copied to a file at details and can help diagnose), the top certification certificate path should display the matching root certificate. Details are needed about the certificates in the certification path and no error message where there is only an indication that the certification chain is broken.
  14. Depends what you mean with correct branch. WinNTSetup does take the reg key as it is, there not redirection made. So [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\...] in a reg file makes only sense, if you install an x64 OS and have the registry setting of a 32-Bit application.

  16. PEBakery

PEBakery Beta 3 Commands for wim file mainpulation are added as main feature. Most of the wim commands are powered by wimlib. Manual for new commands can be found here. You can download binary and source from github. Special thanks to PEBakery Team and wimlib. Changelog - [ADD] Commands for wim file - [ADD] Command LoopLetter - [ADD] Show url of WebLabel as tooltip - [ADD] Caption can be specified in Bevel - [ADD] NT6 Style FolderBrowserDialog - [ADD] Indicate build progress on taskbar - [FIX] Before execution of scripts run `script.project` - [FIX] Missing formats added to StrFormat,Date - [FIX] Drive letter support for StrFormat,Inc/Dec - [FIX] Escape characters interpreted case insensitive properly - [FIX] Escape character `##` works properly with `#c`, `#a`, `#r`
  17. Drop us an example of such untrusted certificate.
  18. Annoying, isn't it?! I've been meaning to ask here about it for ages, but only just got around to it. I hope there's fix for it.
  19. Thanks. That is what i had missed. I don't know if there are enough "real" enhancements, many of them seem to be regarding icons and the general look of the app, to make me want to change from using Notepad2-mod, but I do appreciate that your are very actively working on the app and making frequent updates. It is very important to have an active developer. As to the look of the app, to each their own. That is the beauty of independent software development. Thanks for all of your continued hard work. Cheers and Regards
  20. Dave....I have the exact same thing occur in outlook express 6 with a few e mails I receive from a particular German website
  21. I should have re-read the February's pots instead of troubleshooting on my own. Spent over hour googling, reading logs, restarting services, checking internet options etc. and it all appeares to be dumbest error on the M$ side I found... today. Adding to that, suprisingly, when you try to connect to MU by entering update.microsoft.com into your Internet Explorer, website resolves to http:// connected one and, well, craps. However, when you enter microsoft.com/update, website is smart enough to go via https:// itself. And that's how I managed to make it work on my end... Oh, and, in the meantime, M$ allows patches to shipthrough the catalog page using http. I doubt this is a serious security risk for a cable-connected home user, but hey, at the same time Google wins certificate war against Symantec and Mozilla announces tagging all http sites as security risk. And I wonder, I simply wonder why noone bitchslapped M$ for that, and, if someone did, why it wasn't enough?
  22. I hope this is the appropriate thread to ask about this. If not, please move this post to a new thread. For a long time, I'm quite often getting security certificate errors popping up when I open e-mails in Eudora, my e-mail client. They seem to always be associated with image files, as dismissing the error usually causes missing images in the messages to appear. Eudora has its own system for server certificates, but uses the Windows system for content certificates. Here is an example - The middle option is always green, sometimes the lower one is too, but the top one always has a warning that the certificate is from a provider that I haven't "trusted". Unfortunately I've never found a way to "trust" the provider so the error window doesn't come up again! Installing the certificate after viewing it seems to work fine, but makes no difference. If I look in the Windows certificate store (Control Panel>Internet Options>Content>Certificates) and look at the "Other People" tab, the installed certificate is listed there OK, but the properties say "Windows does not have enough information to verify this certificate". Is there anything I can do about this? I assume it's an XP problem, as the same e-mail program doesn't show the errors in Windows 10 or Windows 98. Cheers, Dave.
  23. There are no changes for the better. Two new builds use the Moonchild Productions folder, where palemoon has a profile. Mozilla / 5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv: 55.0) Gecko / 20100101 Goanna / 4.0 Firefox / 55.0 Basilisk / 20180203 has a profile in a separate Moonchild folder and there is no problem with the agent user and other extension and graphics extensions.
  24. Most probably. Moreover, if the 64-bit version is compressed with UPX or Aspack, that would make it even more suspect to heuristics.
