  2. It is blocked by Google Safe Browsing which is also used by Firefox. Microsoft Defender SmartScreen equips Edge. In Edge I use both Google Safe Browsing + Microsoft Defender SmartScreen. Google Safe Browsing feature at the browser level has priority over a DNS-level block. An analysis at VT shows (currently) that the website is not dangerous.
  3. From what I've seen, when there are no drives to choose from during Setup it could mean you need to load the ACHI drivers. If you load them, the hard drive should appear. Or you can check if your laptop supports IDE mode for hard drives. Usually when a laptop doesn't support other older OS it won't boot the setup disk at all. Giving you acpi errors or something. If the setup does launch, it's most probably that you need to load the achi driver.
  4. Under details click, visit this unsafe site. Thanks Gemini!
  5. As I already wrote, no components were installed in my Thorium installation. The list is simply empty. It was just an idea. Personally, I use the flag --disable-component-update.
  6. HDD gone bad, but don't run CHDSK, it will do more harm, I recommend to make a backup ASAP.
  7. That's also happened for me when one of the VRAM chips on my GPU began to slowly die.
  8. Yes, a big difference. As mentioned elsewhere, I had also been aware of 'stuck processes' being left running when Thorium was supposedly closed down. Hopefully this will now be fixed too.
  9. Thank you, that sounds like a very good 'fix', as long as I never want to use any downloaded components of course! I'm pretty sure that what trigged the download was using the Google Translate function, but I can always replace that with an extension. I have loads of things listed under chrome://components/ BTW, including "ScreenAI Library - Version: 123.9.3" which is causing the errors to be logged.
  10. Today
  11. same issue my trial period has ended and I would like that website to work. I have submitted my request at https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_error/?hl=en I hope it helps edit: I was still able to open it via edge
  12. Maybe, for you. But I fear you are just one of the few. uBlock Origin works great. However, you just have to be able to handle it. But we have already had a lengthy discussion about this. Please, provide a link to the YouTube video where ads are not blocked by uBO! Your recommendation is unfortunately completely off-topic. Your Chrome webextension Adblock does not exist for legacy browsers. Only Adblock Plus in the last version 2.9.1 from June of 2017 which is unmaintained and obsolete since then. So if there is more necessary than only your selected filter list "Anti-Circumvention Filters", then it presumably won't work as expected. BTW, the Anti-Circumvention Filters https://github.com/abp-filters/abp-filters-anti-cv also seem to have been obsolete for some time now. The repository has been archived in December of 2023. PS: And another piece of bad news for you. Sorry for that in advance! The latest version of your beloved Adblock extension apparently no longer blocks ads on YouTube, as several users have reported in the Chrome Web Store, and is also no longer available for Thorium (Chrome 122). Here is a link: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/adblock-—-block-ads-acros/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom/reviews?hl=en
  13. I have. Since January or February. The solution that works for me is to *NOT* use uBO for blocking YouTube ads. *NONE* of the "lists" I could find (nor assistance here at MSFN, but a big thanks to those that did offer assistance) were LONG-TERM. YouTube would break those fixes within weeks, if not days. I found TWO extensions that worked for me, but I have opted for this one as the best solution per my needs - https://helpcenter.getadblock.com/hc/en-us Bear in mind, I've only tested in Chrome-based but this extension is available for Mozilla-based. ONE list and one list ONLY:
  14. Yes it is so Firefox is heavier than Edge. But very few users are able to configure Edge well. I use Firefox without any extension, not even uBlock Origin. In this mode I can tolerate it.
  15. @JFX Itallian langauge update for WinNTSetupè 5.3.5. Thanks. WinNTSetup - 5.3.5 - Italian language.zip
  16. i was against discord/teamviewer from the beginning, but noone wanted to hear me this is certainly intensional by discord crew to remove these os´s - 100 % they could keep up a older browser version that only means they on the ride with the others who actually try to make this "spy ride" this is still up to date: there is a reason why they are doing this so guys keep looking if you asked for "real name" "email that requies a real name" "smartphone confirmation" "wants neccesary a server (where your data is logged) someone once said (there is no cloud its someones server)" "wants nessesary win10+" "wants a tpm chip" also keep a watching eye if they try to say we do this "spam" no thats not right there are other ways to have spam under control, the past has proofen so or other crap "you give us your smartphone number - good deal (no its not)" or "just install win10 (oh someone actually did what they want them to do" and it it wants a server in between - again "its not a cloud its somebodys server" -> they can look into this - peer to peer are one of their enemys , or self hosted servers teamspeak is a good example how a such problem can be solved - or how it once has been teamspeak allow you to host a server (not always there server (that is spying on you)) in between so they cant just get rid of the server and say it need this supernew +0 functions server (and discord dont allow you to host a server - why - i belive we know the reason) then they actually force you to do more and more things , more and more data from you , more and more that you should accept and nobody can proof these companys that they looked into your computer or chat (even tho you have a right to speak and no1 is allowed to hear into what you talking there - it is actually the same laws for a phone talk) "but you accepted this the company says" it is hard to proof a company that they did a such thing - near impossible - because they only trust you if you let them look your computer - but what is about their computer if you then figured out you face a lawer that trys to reduce the demage (its not like they dont do this - there are proofen cases that they did exactly this) - witch then end in some kind of talk "ah that wasnt so bad - its over now" (something like that) (just for the people - that they dont do that - or cant do that - or will not do that - no they do!)
  17. MSFN members who have CPU and Memory problems and use uBlock Origin can enable the “Ignore generic cosmetic filters” option. This is a feature that Mr.Hill has set up specifically for less powerful PCs.
  18. @Dave-H I have just seen your recently opened issue "Side by Side Error Recorded in Windows XP #85"on GitHub. I then checked my event logs but can't see any corresponding entries so far although the sub folder screen_ai also exists in my USER_DATA folder including this ominous chrome_screen_ai.dll file. Furthermore, I checked my installed components under chrome://components/ but there are none. Maybe, you simply delete or rename the complete screen_ai sub folder and use the command line flag --disable-component-update for the next browser start.. It might be necessary to de-register the chrome_screen_ai.dll file, too. I can't say whether this will help you, but you could give it a try.
  19. after more testing this new progwrp.dll by IDA-RE-things has another big advantage for me. i am running supermium r4 the same way as i did 360chrome. that is, with a modified x-chromium loader.exe and a modified loader.ini. frequently after clearing browser data and closing supermium the x-chromium loader.exe and two chrome.exe processes would still be running in the windows task manager. with those still running a new start of the browser fails. so i just kept the browser running all day or closed the still running processes before restarting the browser when needed. this new progwrp.dll also solved that issue. all chrome processes and the x-loader now close on exit. as said before, only tested on xp sp3 (updated with legacy updates 2014) credits to IDA-RE-things for making this dll and his reports on the github supermium site. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/created_by/IDA-RE-things https://github.com/IDA-RE-things
  20. I know these command line flags. Personally, I use the extension Animation Policy in Thorium. By using this extension, you are able to exactly adjust via a toolbar popup how the animations are supposed to be handled by the browser. Thus, the user has the possibility to let an animation play or stop from inside Thorium at any time without editing the flags and restarting the browser.
  21. If a person already owns this graphics card, he can try to do the best to make it useful. Not everyone can buy new parts.
  22. After some tests, I would even say that the loading behaviour of different websites also has been improved by the updated Chrome XP API Adapter. More test are necessary, of course.
  23. Latest ME firmware 14.1.72.2287 broke the compatibility with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm UHD Blu-ray and resulted in noise and choppy playback at specific scenes. Although it is possible to downgrade the firmware on my ASUS ROG Strix Z490-F Gaming, it is still difficult to fix the issue because I can't find a simple solution. I tried using different sound card, reinstalling or updating audio driver or graphics driver, and none of them worked. Finally I solved the issue by switching off the power supply. Anyway, I think putting PAVP in the firmware which requires security update every year is a terrible idea.
