  2. Hello AstroSkipper, a few weeks ago (Bestelldatum:05. Mai. 2024) I wanted to pay with NM28 for an order on eBay with Paypal and got stuck like you. Only after visiting my Paypal account and confirming that I had read and accepted the revised AGBs (GTCs General terms and conditions) the payment proceeded as intended. PS: I should add I tend to be quite lazy when it comes to reading AGBs (GTCs) but Paypal insists on it. Mea culpa ??
  3. If you are using Visual C++ 6.0 or later, I don't know what could be causing the problem because I can't build Classilla due to reliance on Cygwin. I can't make Classilla compile using either Cygwin or MSYS.

  5. at the outset, I can say that my autounattend.xml appears to take out more than ur win7-11-auto.xml, but I am willing to integrate whatever I find useful of urs into mine. As far as the wizarding is concerned, I have started it all from winntsetup.exe, but I am sure u have setup quite an overall automation process worth my while learning.
  6. ... Discourse-based forums fixing userscript below: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184051-my-browser-builds-part-4/?do=findComment&comment=1258499 ... and a revised version of the uBO (legacy) custom filter having the same effect : https://msfn.org/board/topic/185966-my-browser-builds-part-5/?do=findComment&comment=1258536 NB: Both above mitigations are "universal", whereas the Modify-HTTP-Response based solution you opted for (it was the recommended solution on the official PM Forum at a time the UXP platform was missing support for those villainous operators, "?." & "??" ) requires manually modifying its "filter" every time you come across a discourse forum NOT covered already by the filter's existing RegExp... ... Are you saying you tried to properly use the editor's code tag (</>), select Javascript under coding language options, paste the "code" inside the designated input field and when you hit the "Insert into post" button the "Forbidden..." error popped up? Or was it that the code was properly inserted into the post while in Edit/Preview mode and the error hit after you clicked the "Submit Reply" button?
  7. hi dimo&Co., thanx very much for the update, it all looks pretty carefully organized, which fascinates me. I see u have prepared a wizard, but since I am not familiar with it, would u pls "wizard" me thru the wizard? thanx in advance for this undertaking. in other words, where do I start from and how do I go about baking a minwinned vhd according to u?
  8. Sorry to hear that. Back in the day was advised against laptops, notebooks and so on 'cause they're difficult to repair. Never had anything like that, though today's mobile phones are almost there. I must admit everything small, thin and mobile makes me suspicious. I feel that they're designed so we can't detach from the device. I already sound like a conspiracy theorist.
  9. I've had two 16+ year old XP laptops die on me all within the last three months. I'm down to two XP laptops. One of them turned 20yrs old this month. ThinkPad T42. I'm kind of at the point where I kind of "want it" to die already, lol. No permanent web browser on that one, just a quick flyby to run Thorium or Supermium for a couple minutes then remove them completely.
  10. For me, the Google Drive website works in my Thorium installation but @UCyborg reported crashes with this website. Maybe, using some Chrome flags might help you. As we both already stated, trial and error is the game. And you can report this problem in Thorium's issues on GitHub to inform the developer.
  11. Believe it or not I kept thinking about that quasi-discussion of 'too old' hardware, I mean, we all come from there, we all have an old pc in the wardrobe that worked great and we loved and stopped using due to lack of compatibility, not because it didn't work anymore. We should restrict people who are too young or have too new hardware to enter these threads or require a special permit for kids. This is hardcore, you shouldn't be here. Not having that much technical knowledge, everything I experience is trial and error, so my conclusions are what I come to from an intuitive manner and I agree with those who say it's better to disable hardware acceleration. I've found the browser works better when I disable that option on my machine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After a few hours of testing the only page I'm having problems with is Google Drive. Already tried to sync my account in another window, disabling the extensions and can't solve it. The page loads and looks fine but when it finishes loading and stop, it crashes. Does anyone else have the same problem?
  12. Directory Opus works for me, but it has a feature where it intercepts calls to Explorer and effectively replaces it unless you open Run and type explorer.
  13. The monitor scales what the video card gives you. And if it gives 1600x900 (In which 800x600 is scaled, by means of the video card), then the monitor works with it as with 1600x900, offering options available for this resolution for further scaling (Emulation 17", 19", 4:3, for example, and so on). Nah, well, it's not like that at all... We may also want to change the refresh rate (and not just change the resolution\disable zooming). How will the monitor handle this? I didn't find anything about this for DVI (There are solutions for VGA, they are tested and work. Such as UniRefresh, UniVBE, VBEHZ), but for DVI, the frequency specified in the monitor's EDID (Preferred Timing Mode) is always used, at least for nVidia. I haven't found any utility that allows you to switch refresh rates (For DVI) yet. There is another idea here - to make several versions of EDID, prescribing in each your preferred video mode and refresh rate (So that you can choose your own for each case). But how to re-shoot EDID under DOS? Where is it actually stored in memory (so that it can be replaced and reinitialized)? Of course, outside the monitor. After all, it comes from the monitor to the computer and is stored somewhere in a volatile part of the memory. I will later try to test one hypothesis, whether it is even possible in principle to initialize (And force to use) another EDID in one day, without rebooting the PC (So far over the wire, with the actual transfer of another EDID). If the experiment is successful , the possibility of redefining the EDID under DOS in memory may theoretically exist (which is at least somewhat encouraging). PS: I have already found information about the existence of hardware solutions that allow you to replace the EDID. But for now, I would like to try to limit myself exclusively to software tools (After all, with VGA it is possible to do this. Why all of a sudden such difficulties with DVI?). ___________ Checked it out. And it really can work that way. Loading any compatible VBIOS image file under DOS (Using RamBios\VGABios) causes the video card to read the EDID in a new way (While RamBios\VGABios, along with the image, can be unloaded immediately after that, so as not to take up memory). It remains to find a way to replace the EDID data sent by the monitor with your own (custom) ones, and then you can load any custom EDID under DOS (With the necessary video modes and update frequencies). There are no other software solutions to the problem yet. Tested on GeForce PCX 5900 (PCI-E x16).
  14. I updated my toolpack NTHelper AiO
  15. Yes, there was error. I correct it here: Win7-11-Auto.xml
  16. That it did. Just ran MotionMark 1.3. There is a difference: Without GPU: With GPU: There's also a slight (5%) but repeatable difference in Speedmark 3.0
  17. I remembered that after changing acpi.sys to patched after boot WinXP system probably finds a new device because you can hear the sound of Windows XP Hardware Insert.wav (Device Connect event) - maybe OS finds a new disk or disk controller - I don't know.
  18. I have just tested ebay.de with a more recent user agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:122.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/122.0. This seems to help a bit. The eBay websites run more smoothly for me with this user agent in New Moon 28.
  19. @reboot12 I noticed this behavior also on XP SP3. Yepp, something in registry changed. Because of this, I always make a copy of the whole folder Windows\system32 Dietmar
  20. Nah... "They" were "bad" to begin with ... Updating their code frameworks to target Google Chrome 125+ (which "they" expect every single one of their users to be on at the moment ) is what distances all these services further away from what UXP can (reasonably) digest ...
  21. I think you can do this. The error your xml generates is very clear.
  22. I have now tried to log into my Paypal account separately in New Moon 28. I was able to solve the captcha and was redirected correctly to my account. The two factor authentication, however, annoys me as always. Why this didn't work during my payment process, I really don't know.
  23. When I access the website https://www.deepl.com/translator with Chrome 43.0.2357.134, the padlock is green. A different certification path is listed here than in 360Chrome. Is it possible to set which certification is used?
  24. Today, the Chrome XP API Adapter has been updated to version 1.2.0.5059. I installed it and did not add the two flags in terms of hardware acceleration. That works for my old machine.
  25. BTW, Amazon, eBay and Paypal have become really bad. These sites are much more sluggish in New Monn 28 than months ago.
  26. JFX, can you publish autounattend.xml for win 10, 11 with disabled bitlocker automatic on, and full unattended setup without asking anything? Thanks in advance. For making things easy i did this file, but not sure if everythink is good to work Win7-11-Automatic.xml
