The video plays smoothly in Chrome 103 on my older Chromebook, but without audio. Where is the audio?

do i understand this right ? the youtube downloader for xp (aka yt-dlp) only could get the h.264 format in windows xp ? but the chrome-player (thats the thing what plays the video from youtube ect.) seems very capable to do the "h.265 codec" one of the h.265 decendent´s is called VP9 - in xp the browser (like supermium) it also could not handle VP9 ? when i tryed the "KI" the KI did the same thing to nicolaasjan what the KI did to me, it pretended like to know the problem but everybody could say something like the KI say like "it is because the fluctuation in the internal functions" -> but basicly that says nothing, rather to write something like this describe "he/KI dont know either" the KI did the same to me i asked it up what REG_MULTI_SZ_APPENDED is and why these can have 2 constand´s then it firstly say "that is right" - but the correct answers would be that it is not - the inf installer has a own set of constand´s that´s why it has 2 constands - it has nothing to do with a c++ compiler or the registry constand´s nor the registry functions so the KI told me some bullcr.. and i was more confused then before (but we get the point the KI´s answer said it like it knows that, but actually the KI dont) VP9 would be doable it is open source, openssl if it has a age-problem would also be doable - there would be the possiblity to write the cryptografic instructions if they are in SSE - then you still could translate them to normal instruction, that also would be possible in sence of vista-10 function - we would have some on our list - one example would be the SRW-locks, those dont exits in XP but there implementations that works (they are function tested) it would depent on how many functions python would be asking from what i understand it was going like "hmm python 9.11 + didnt compile up anymore" now we done !? so do we know the problem more precisely ? openssl ? vista functions (in this case what ones) ? vp9 ? the thing with the frames should be mentioned, a video is not a game in a game i could not even play with 60 frames even with 80 frames i could reconize that framerate with 100 frames it was ok but a video this is however not the case often 24-30 are enough - the motion blur rather depents on the shutter-speed a shutter speed is not a framerate a shutter speed is how many pictures are taken in a certain speed like 1/60 thats 0,016 seconds to take 1 frame you dont need 60 frames to make this happen you can take 24-30 frames of 1/60 frames either (in 1 second intervals = 24 frames with 1/60 taken pictures) if you dont want the motion blur at all you take at least 1/500 for barly motion blur, 1/1000 for close to none , 1/2000 for no motion blur at all for fight scenes that look well (then you just take 24 frames that was taken in 1/2000 speed) 1 thing to tell here is that often for 24 frames also 1/24 shots are used 1/24 can make the picture to wash (not only motion blur) - higher speeds here dont have that problem so much or not at all if very fast - but they do not depend having 60 frames - in this case you can also have lets say 24 pictures/frames taken with 1/1000 speed what you can say about a faster shutter speed is : it tends to sharpen the picture (if the iso dont has to be increased) sharpen the picture also means the video looks sharper or better - a video is just a picture repeated 24 times (sometimes 50 or 60) but in a video that is often not as reconizeable as with a game - that would remind a 3d-object discussion and a 2d video discussion - while 2d would do just fine for a video more frames are not bad ... but the benefits are mostly (at least for video) are not that high anymore - and not to compare with the frame discussion from a game however for shutter speeds of that level you need a fast lens the so called t-stop or f-stop, an alternativ would be to be in a good light (like sunlight) (in older movie´s you often see that they used outdoor lights to have a better iso, that was when FILM was still around - i saw them and even in a shadow scene the video looked very bright - that was because a outdoor light was used) if either you have a slow lens or a bad light you have to increase the iso - and increasing the iso means less pixels and less dynamic range! (dynamic range means that the texture in bright and dark parts have more detail - a problem special small sensors have - thats why they use tricks - one trick is to take multiple pictures at different shutter speeds - and overlap them) so far i have not seen what is really missing, so more information would be very welcome

I've also observed this myself; the other day I DLed a BBC-made 30min documentary off their official YT account (videoID=Pxozxj03l18) and though I initially wanted the 720p25 variant (in h264), I went, in the end, for the 1080p25 one (h264, ca. 1600kbps), because 720p25 was a measly 500kbps ... ... They're probably targeting ChromeOS laptops and/or Android-based UHD SmartTVs; little do they care for "legacy" OS/HW setups; and h264 still costs them patent fees, whereas their own VP9 codec (and av01) is royalty-free...

About the DirectX files on Server 2012 (R2) , I should have added that even if you install the DirectX redist package from Microsoft, they will not be added. These 3 files are considered part of the OS and Microsoft removed them from the Server installation completely. This is not a problem on the Client version and why they can be copied from there.

YouTube has something new on their end again. No mention of SABR at all anymore. There is new line in the app that says "Sleeping for 5 seconds as required by the site." No big deal about that. Requesting 720p or 1080p h.264 video gives extremely poor quality compared to how it was before. The bitrates for a talking head segment are 240 kbit/s and 860 kbit/s respectively. Requesting no/default format gives VP9 in extremely large size and demand for the computer. Best that they have 3840*2160 @ 30 fps, 9500 kbit/s. Google really wants to push their VP9. When nothing works, this still does.

Hello, i need to ask about something again. Does the paypal website not work in these browsers anymore ?? I've tried your Seperent, New Moon/Pale Moon, and Mypal 74.1.1 I've had a paypal account since the early 2010's and never had any issues with it before. But suddenly i cant seem to even get to the actual login page on any browser whatsoever. What i mean is, i click the login on top right side of the main homepage, and get this "security check" before even seeing the email/password form, where you slide your mouse from left to right ...or do an "audio" thing where you type 6 numbers you hear. And when i click it, i get the green checkmark ...but it says "You are blocked. we couldnt load the security challenge" And the only way i can ever try again is to delete any/all "paypal" cookies from the browser. I've tried tons of times and it always keeps saying "we couldnt load the security challenge" after doing it successfully. I dont know what's going on, but this is the first time in my life i seen this happen. Does this have anything to do with the annoying Cloudflare crap that plagued all the browsers in recent months ?? Or is something serpent/new moon/mypal doesnt support all of a sudden now? - The last time i was able to login to my account was about a month ago or so, and never saw this happen before until now.

The DirectX DLLs are an issue on every Windows. You're supposed to install a DX redistributable or get them bundled with a game. At one point I heard there was a license pushback from Microsoft when software included those DLLs, but now it just happens. Unlike other DLLs, XAudio2_6.dll and its siblings need to be registered and therefore also put into the system folder so that all applications have access to them. Not having XAudio results in a hard to troubleshoot situation of no sound in games from Bethesda. They don't say that the DLL wasn't found. I strongly dislike Microsoft's media stuff. It's big, slow and unncessary given free alternatives. Games that include everything they need work more reliably on all versions of Windows. A game is a gig or bigger and can afford to bundle a video codec. The new XnView MP (not lean, built on a framework) refuses to start because it is linked to mfplat.dll. I got a couple audio editors, I think one of them was from Acoustica, also refusing to start. The fault as I see it is with them because we have other graphics and audio editors that work great. They usually work way faster being older. In Server 2022 the desktop pack is mandatory. Not having it results in all GUI being inaccessible.

framedyn.dll has a staggering 630 export functions and its name is "WMI SDK Provider Framework", srclient is system restore. Neither is ms update. Look in my nlite preset. There it has an entry "Automatic Updates" which do the job but not tottaly. That's why you see at RemoveFiles section all these mu*.* and wu*.* stuff. But not even that clean the remaining microsoft \ windows update items so next you see inside entries_del_shortcuts.ini stuff like del_ qfeUpPck.inf|,MU.AddReg||1 etc. or qfeUpPck.inf|ProfileItems =MU.Shortcut,MUC.Shortcut,KB976002.Shortcut<NEXT>||1 The qfeUpPck.inf and 5erPOSUp.inf aren't known to nlite even they are integrated before by RVM_Integrator. msagent is not automatic updates. If you don't load my nlite preset which has "MS Agent" entry then you have to duplicate what nlite was doing to remove stuff by hand. I guess you use ms notepad or wordpad which is only good for a couple of lines and after that it will increase mental fog. Notepad4 is a good alternative. And something I forgot to tell at the 3-Aug-2025 post. When you load my nlite preset and hit next couple of times it will ask for BITS incompatibility. You have to press "No" instead. On whatever *_u.ini you need to fill the CDKey without the dashes. After you have a succesfull setup you can go back to your untouched but updated i386 source by XPSP3_QFE_POSReady_Addon_20200820_Pro.7z and XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack_20210829_Pro.7z and then load again my nlite (nlite load button at lower right corner) preset, but this time you could uncheck a component or a setting/tweak and if you end up again with a succesfull installation, you can keep your new preset. Also nlite if is run more than one time on the same i386 source it may produce duplicate or similar entries on some .INF files. On the same updated source, after only one nlite pass with my nlite preset, I integrate my del_addon. Then I don't have those folders right from the begining of setup because the setup engine does not create folders which aren't needed, so I can't test them with Unlocker. But I need more time to create a new nlite preset that could not have all those nhelper.exe lines right from the start (if it is possible). That's why I remove stuff from nlite.inf too. I have place a lot of commnents about various issues on my entries_del_shortcuts.ini v2 addons which both are also more up to date. If you use some VM environment eg. vmware etc. and you need to make a ISO you have to delete SetupSourcePath and BootPath lines from TXTSETUP.SIF just before make the iso. del_addon_full_v2.7zStep 1 nlite reducer.7z

Does anyone have other ideas??

Thanks, both of you. As I don't use Supermium myself, I'd forgotten that it isn't "unGoogled" and, therefore, Google Sync is available to back up one's passwords with a somewhat reasonable level of security.

Hi, I'd like to suggest an upgrade for links/custom toolbars. I've thought of 2 ideas: 1. Hide icons so the text is shown only: 2. Here's one of the examples I've been working on lately:

Attempting to remove automatic updates by deleting source files caused the framedyn,dll and srclient.dll not found error at the end of the Windows setup. I cannot see entries in entries_del_shortcuts.ini for removing automatic updates. Certain folders of removed Windows components like msagent under the WINDOWS folder seem impossible to remove. I removed it's entry from txtsetup.sif and for good measure removed it with a batch file, but it reappears. When I attempt to remove it from the commandline I receive this output: > rd /s msagent msagent, Are you sure (Y/N)? y msagent\intl - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by an other process. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. Unlocker shows that the folder is locked by winlogon.exe, as is the empty Outlook Express folder. I can use Unlocker to remove the lock by winlogon.exe and delete the folder, but it reappears after I reboot. I also tried adding an entry for the msagent folder in the PendingFileRenameOperations value to delete it after a reboot, but that does not work. I might try removing the entry for msagent in the DestinationDirs section of intl.inf in the addon, but I doubt that would make a difference. I see that the msagent section of your addon includes this line which indicates that nhelper,exe is used to permanently remove the msagent folder: If so why are you deleting this line from nlite.inf? What you demonstrate here is the same as the instructions in the Defining Entries document, so what I must have done wrong is omit the leading space of the second line. Supermium's password manager is working fine for me, and always has done. It is backed up to the cloud by Google Sync, so it's synchronised with my other Supermium installations on other machines, (I know, I know, but it works for me, and I don't use it for any really sensitive passwords like online banking!) I back up my whole machine locally regularly as well, of course.

What is a reliable, performant remote desktop software today, which doesn't have any interations with Windows, and can run on a variety of older Windows versions? I would like to be able to access my computer remotely on a guest computer where I may not make any configuration changes. The server would run on Server 2008 R2 x64 that is somewhat weak, and the client would likely run on Windows 10 and 11. The client should be portable. The server should not do heavy-handed security or compression. The available bandwidth is 60-100 Mbit/s. I could open a (secret) port for Windows Remote Desktop which is fast, but I am afraid that it would refuse to run on new Windows for this or that reason, as is often the case. I wouldn't be able to confirm any logins on the server or tweak it.

I have gave up on my main machine for now and restored old backup.. and moved experimenting into Vmware virtual machine, here i connected this machine as MBR disk, its not UEFI / TPM machine, its single partition install, but its failing exactly the same way Only difference is that on such simple setup, automatic start up repair worked right away, i mean that Windows bootloader started, without fidling with bcd files.. and still not ntbtlog.. so its something really ugly, i have tried to run lots of live antivirus and antimalware stuff, it ran for ages, because i have like like 6 millions of files on my disk.. i got some malware / adware reports, but i found say false possitives, because other tools not reported them.. I disabled them anyway, no change. I also found out that i could enable / disable drivers through dism+ .. but without any clue is really hard to find out the root of this problem.. and it seems to be same for a lot of people which encountered it.. I wonder there is msconfig mode to enable MS services Only, im not sure if different from safe mode, but i there wonder some way how to set it on.. i found try it.. i can probably disable services / drivers one by one, its problematic..
