Native (WDM) HD Audio driver for Windows 98se/Me
Drew Hoffman replied to Drew Hoffman's topic in Windows 9x/ME
It seems it is only working for the Realtek ALC2xx at this time, for other Realtek codecs it is not finding the correct output pathway. Will troubleshoot more when I have a chance. If anyone here is getting a resource conflict at 0000-3FFF like mskrzynski, please try the latest version of Patcher9x released a few days ago to correct the above 4gb resources bug. https://github.com/JHRobotics/patcher9x/releases/tag/v0.9.91 -
OK here it is: KSTUB825.log

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
Leokids123 replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Yep,the fork of 48.0.2 might be unnecessary but i've wanted to one day maintain it... https://github.com/LeoKids/Yansu You can fork it and merge changes to it... -
Is there a way to trigger it? I'm sure I have it enabled on Kstub but couldn't find it. I'll also try ProcWin (I had it on my KernelEx folder).

Thanks. I first installed MS .NET Framework v4.0 (18Mar2010) under WinXP SP3. After that Panda Dome v21.01.00 could be installed OK under WinXP. I selected "Offline installation" during installation. I have not yet activated the program because activation requires entering an email address. The settings window indicates "Last updated 12/26/2025". First the good news: Panda Dome v21.01.00 runs OK under WinXP on my old Inspiron 7500 (700 MHz Pentium III, SSE-only). The program does not seem have a conflict with other programs installed. Kerio Personal Firewall v2.1.5 has no issues with the program. It is even possible to run My Ancient version of Kaspersky simultaneously with Panda Dome, no conflict. Now the bad news: I made a virus-check with Panda Dome v21.01.00 of "My personal in the Wild", which is a collection of 100 infected files downloaded with eMule. I had prepared this collection a year and a half ago for testing-purposes by taking at random 100 files from a HDD full of infected downloads from eMule. Panda Dome v21.01.00 flagged only 6/100 files [msg: 8,531 scanned, 7 detected, i.e. 1 file was flagged twice, because of multiple infections], Only 6 files were quarantined, and 94 infected files were left as "clean" in the folder \My personal in the Wild_6Jul2024\ For comparison: When I ran My ancient version of Kaspersky with this test set of 100 infected eMule files, Kaspersky scanned 171,873 files contained in the various .rar, .zip, .exe etc in \My personal in the Wild_6Jul2024\ and, detected 167 viruses, trojans etc. 99 files were cleaned, the single file which was flagged but not cleaned was a .rar file containing in turn infected multi-part .rar files. Panda Dome v21.01.00 does NOT install under Windows Server 2003 SP2. When I tried to install it under Win2003 SP2 I got the incorrect error message: "You must upgrade your version of .NET Framework". Panda Security apparently did not prepare a recent corporate edition for Windows Server, maybe no demand. Kerio Firewall flags a file named "TUNNEL.EXE", which has to be given permissions. Which IT-Manager would be inclined to license software which opens a tunnel into corporate computers? BTW, Panda Security is a Spanish company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panda_Security which was acquired in March-June 2020 by the U.S. company WatchGuard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WatchGuard BTW, Kerio Personal Firewall v2.1.5 does not have a Server version either, but is still my favorite firewall under WinXP.

You attached KexApiLog. The Kexstub log is in the KernelEx folder next to your stubs ini. Possibility to identify RaiseException as culprit: On start Mypal68 I get error in xul.dll. In the Windows Faultlog I see the details with EIP. I can find the address (EIP) running Procwin16 at Mypal>XUL.dll>Code. e.g.:

That is about the time I noticed this happening. I was going to inquire about it but figured it was a simple glitch that would be fixed after it was noticed by more members or a supervisor. It is nice to see a count of some sort, even if there are no 'humans' on the site these days. ...

https://github.com/LordOfMice/Tools/blob/master/nvme9x.zip Full handling of Windows 9x specific requests that use Linear Scatter/Gather buffer. Update is recommended. Install either by reinstalling the device or manually copying nvme2k.mpd and nvmevsd.vxd to %windir%\SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\ The problem and solution are described in detail in https://github.com/techomancer/nvme2k/issues/15 There are no remaining issues, except for slightly slower performance under Windows 9x than under NT. This turned out to be an issue with the implementation of standard OS service for DMA (Bus Master) controllers – it's almost impossible to receive a real requests for the controller longer than 64K over any length of time. Solution is possible, but this would require custom implementation, using non-standard code.

The facts are on the table. The issue has been identified, as has the time at which it occurred. So what now?

I have tried -16 before, still crashes as the February 15th version. And yes the "Couldn't initialize broker services" error also came up. Here are the logs of the -16 and -17 version in a zip file, I'm using ApiLog. Not sure if this what you meant by Kexstubs.log. FF54_16_17.zip

A couple of commits in the Firefox 54.0a1 (2017-02-15) build caused crashes and were reverted in the next day or two. So try -16 and -17. And check the kexstubs log files to see which apis were called.

Unfortunately 54.0a1 (2017-02-14) is the newest version I could launch, I have not managed to find out what's causing the crashing issue. I'm kinda new to Kstub.ini, and ApiLog/Dependency Walker doesn't to give any clue. I thought you could maybe help since I managed to omitted the use of DWMAPI & AVRT (see spoilers above) and I'm think you use those DLLs from other extended kernel instead of the KnownDLLs + LZ32 that jumper mentioned long time ago. However for Mypal68, I forgot to mention this but I managed to get to the point that this error comes up. I have stubbed keyed event functions to z4 and Cred---- functions to CredFree. This error is kinda familiar, I've seen it on Serpent before the GetLastError workaround. And yes nothing fixes the error as you mentioned.

I have no new findings. I also was stuck at 54.0a1. This is still the situation for me. I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that you'll be successful in your efforts. Mypal68: Yes, it crashes with RaiseException=v4 here. It crashes with the exchange of RaiseException to GetLastError on XP, so I haven't a better explanation yet. Latest RT's releases 20251225: These can't start anymore with the roll back of only XUL.dll 20250531 and mozsqlite3.dll (nss3.dll) 20250531. Now ICU78 and mozjs.dll have to be swapped to previous version 20251220, too. So this procedure makes less and less sense in the future. I tried changing the ICU version from 63 to 78 in XUL.dll of 20250531, but this wasn't a solution. You have to decide what is more important to you to get updates and accept the additional mentioned errors, due to Sqlite 3.50.1 of release 20250621 or to stay with the older files.

My Browser Builds (Part 5)
IXOYE replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hi To make all new versions of Roytam browsers work under XP SP2, here is the simplest solution... download:CFF-Explorer.exe https://ntcore.com/files/CFF_Explorer.zip Launch CFF Explorer.exe and open the file in the Roytam browser Open concrt140.dll, click on Import Directory, and then click on kernel32.dll then click on the line 00037E0A - 00037E0A - 0256 and Change the function name from "GetLogicalProcessorInformation" to "FindNextFileA", and then Click on Save. do this for all roytam browsers and it now works for xp sp2. -

KB2839299_2003 derived fltMgr upgrade that it is not...
user57 replied to modnar's topic in Windows XP
well technical speaking actually it would be possible to make a check what technology in the XMM registers are possible there was recently a problem like that with a microsoft file (in the supermium posts) where actually SSE4.1 instructions are used more professional programms (and useally you would expected something like that from a very big money concern like microsoft) check what instructions are available (the x265 encoder/decoder does so for example) after that then the right routine is called up often it is a compiler setting problem one method to avoid this one would be to create an .obj file (what contains the functions without SSE/MMX ect.) then at first you make the check if SSE can be done if not you call up that .obj file´s function if you have SSE you call up your normal function thus you can avoid creating multiple complies like having a SSE version and a non SSE version -
Bug Report: There seems to be a bug in the reimplementation of the File Explorer Menu Bar in the past several versions of SAB. If you are trying to paste a file in File Explorer and you pull down the Edit menu on the Menu Bar, the Paste option will be graded out. But if you right click in File Explorer, on the context menu the Paste option is highlighted and works normally. Pasting from the Menu Bar, Edit menu is very convenient and it would be great to have this bug resolved.

Native (WDM) HD Audio driver for Windows 98se/Me
Deron416 replied to Drew Hoffman's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I tested your audio driver on WindowsMe installed on real hardware with Realtek ALC662 HDA on-board. The driver is installed without any problems as "WDM Sample Driver for HD Audio", the system boots and works fine but there is no sound in the speakers (tried all the audio jacks). Anyway, thank you very much for your contribution to the win9x community
