XPero Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 XPize 3 is now only supporting windows XPSP2, XPize 4 should support Windows XPSP2 + all the Hotfixes. ok lets make this simple XPize 4 should work with RyanVM's Windows XP Post-SP2 Update Pack 1.X.Xhttp://ryanvm.msfn.org/hmm I think you missed something (or maybe I haven't understood you properly). XPize is file version independant, that is, no matter what service pack is installed XPize will recognise and patch your system files (installing XPize normally). If you are referring to the integration option, please read my guide on how to create an XPized Windows CDPlease, correct me if I misunderstood you.@CBC:You mean a thinner Taskbar?
iwod Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Icons inside Shell32.dll?Also icon inside registry editor.Other wise i think it is already very good.
Suren Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 yes, XPero you are right only when I use windows XP with SP2.if I Integrate the hotfixs for SP2. after that Xpize is not working. try it your self.Yes, I'm referring to the integration option
lilweirddude Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 yep, smoother silent installation would be nice
Suren Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 you can change the icons in the Windows XP Computer Managementto get there right click my computer and click manage
SiMoNsAyS Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 XPero, will be out sometime, he wants to reply asap @all, he's intention is not to completely replace all of system icons.he only wants to get rid of old known w9x icons; that's why most of icons on shell32.dll are still remaining after XPize3.i think the only modification possible on default xp icons could be boosting icon sizes...@Suren is obvious that if you integrate your hotfixes after XPize then your replaced resources will be overwritten, so that's not a real problem of XPize solution is to first integrate all of your current hotfixes (including RyanVM's pack) and then, just before building the iso, integrate XPize
MicroStudios Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 an option for extracting to a specific folder.for editing the stuff i want to edit
iwod Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Thanks simon... remind me what Xpize really is.Than i think the icons inside registry could be changed. They look anicent...And i think a new icon for processor in Device window. because the current one looks like a spider
slimzky Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 my suggestions:thin taskbar theme..compact start menu..glossy icons (still looks like xp but glossy (like xp icandy))xpize bootscreen.. xpize rocks.. i have a Gant2 version of XP w/c looks good, but it slows my work because icons are confusing, specially file types icons with xpize, its an enhanced version of XP..
thomasd Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 As CDC and slimzky suggested.A thinner taskbar like the one you get when choosing classic theme.Maybe new icons in Explorer, Local Disk, mapped network drives etc.
chezy666 Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 a new logon like this onehttp://xpskins-tss2000.org/Win%20XP%20Restyled%20edition640.png
clavicle Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Xpero, check out Winrar 3.50 beta 1, they have now started the theme support for toolbars. Themes are at http://www.rarlab.com/themes.htm.
Godzilla Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 @ lilweirddudeYes a better silent setup is nedded. Is it possible to use a INI-File where you select or deselect all components?Oserwise you need many switches. That would be fine.
jeeva Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 What about skinned cmd.exe, I think you need to patch the cmd.exe for that.
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 @jeeva: a SKINNED cmd.exe? Do you have a screenshot of an example? :s
