Testing, results:

11 r 4: add new engines in "Other search engines", but all search engines are DELETED after restart of the browser

12 r 8: add new engines

13 r 3: add new engines

13 r 4:  DOESN'T add

13 r 5: add SOME new engines

11 M: add, then engines are DELETED after restart of the browser

12 M: add new engines

13 M: add (at the top of little tabs), but all engines are DELETED after restart of the browser.

Hmm, interesting.

Would you be able to repeat the test with 13 r 4 and 13 r 5 three times each with new profiles for all three tests (six total)?

I'm curious to see if all three new profiles for 13 r 4 especially DOESN'T add for all three new profiles.

TESTS of "Other search engines" repeated 3 or more times:

13 r 4 (no extensions): add new engines (or some websites), but these are all DELETED after restart of browser:

https://time.is/ , https://accessify.com/ (add after click on "Analyze"), https://www.etsy.com/ , https://swisscows.com/?culture=en

13 r 5 (no extensions), this same websites: add new engines, and all are PERSISTENT after the browser's restart...

You may also want to try this.

For me, the registry key that Humming Owl found points to a Tahoma font.

For my system, I intentionally set Tahoma and I no longer recall what XP uses as its default.

Right-click on top of empty space on your desktop, select Properties in the context menu, select the Appearance tab, click the Advanced button, go to the Item dropdown and select Menu, change that font setting and please report back if this worked or not.

Does changing the font of the "Message Box" item works to change the font in the browser interface?

I changed that font to "Impact" and the browser displayed that font on its interface.

Cheers.

Hmm...  Odd...  Technically 13 r 5 is doing what the browser is "supposed" to do.

"Other search engines" section from the Settings has these websites added in one of my 360Chrome builds:

accessify.com duckduckgo.com etsy.com frogfind.com gigablast.com google.com lehollandaisvolant.net okeano.com oscobo.com oscobo.co.uk qwant.com securityheaders.com swisscows.com time.is

..and more

EDIT:

All oscobo results links lead to redirects (by motherpipe.net to website... but first 4 positions are Ads, that redirect from motherpipe.net to search.yahoo.com)

Every single one of those is prevented using the Tampermonkey script I provided earlier.

This "feature" is best "blocked" via Tampermonkey extension and not by "breaking" it at the browser coding (because while a nuisance to you and I, a lot of people will see this feature as "value-add" [Firefox, Edge, and Safari all have this "feature" also (deployed slightly differently though].

i second that request. (360loader version please)

it is the first v13 version that i can't get to crash on html5test.com.

i find it even more stable then any v12 versions , those will also crash on html5test , only takes some minutes longer.

know it is a big ask but i hope ArticFoxie is up for the task.

this would be the "final stable" v13...

@msfntor.

you are correct but what counts is the stability op xp sp3.

did test v13.1.4010.0 extensively and it is rock solid.

can't crash this version on html5test.com , all other v12 and v13 versions do.

so the latest beta has my vote ...

And don't forget the Windows x86 SP2 owners, please...
Surely it would be nice to translate this Beta to English, we count on the good will of @ArcticFoxie and @Humming Owl!

Thanks in advance for you both!

Found two problems.

1. Setting the 360EE as default browser doesn't work.
2.  Looks like the switch commands "--disable-extensions" and " --disable-plugins" aren't working.
