No compatibility issues with XP ?

Posted (edited)

It's compatible.
I ran tests and MBAE blocked the same exploits as in previous versions:

P.S. I don't use Opera browser, I renamed the HPA tests Opera.exe

@Sampei.Nihira

In the events viewer of Windows XP, do you have an error message in the system category at each start of the MBAE service ?

ID event 7022

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Service is waiting to start

Otherwise, MBAE is running fine...

Does the MBAE icon appear in the bar with a certain delay?

If yes, I had reported this "problem" but it was not considered noteworthy.
At the end of the boot you should see the 2 MBAE processes in the Task Manager.

Are you also experiencing the MBAM Chameleon error (7026)?

You probably have some software (in my case it's the printer) that could interfere with startup.

Verify at the end of the boot with Process Explorer that the mbae.dll is present in the browser:

P.S. Although it is not useful to verify this aspect, as I have written elsewhere the compatible version to use of PE is 16.12.

Later versions seem to work but report incorrect data.

Yes, between one and two minutes after start of a session.

Yes, all is fine, my browsers are protected.

On one computer with the same configuration, I have tested all the versions of MBAE that I have :

1.06.1.1019 OK!

1.07.1.1015 OK!

1.08.1.2572 OK!

1.09.1.1410 OK!

1.10.1.24 OK!

1.11.1.79 OK!

1.12.1.90 OK!

1.12.1.109 icon appear with a delay and the error message is reported in the logs of Windows

1.13.1.186 icon appear with a delay and the error message is reported in the logs of Windows

It seems that MBAE is loosing it's full compatibility with XP.

Probably not.
If MBAE ensures its total protection even for Windows XP, there is no lack of compatibility.
Maybe there was an adjustment to the boot phase of W.10 which follows different rules than XP.
