Guest
Won't be a problem for me if I can turn it off. There should be nothing but white on my new tab page. The only "value" I want Mozilla to bring me is what I explicitly ask for.
tain
@5eraph: My first reaction was "oh yeah, well then do you donate!?" but then saw your Supreme Sponsor tag. Hopefully everyone that complains of the ads is either a sponsor or in some way contributor to the free, open source project.
TELVM
Firefox will insert ads .. If you want all that is good in FF plus some more, minus nothing of the crap:

jaclaz
which doesn't run on 32 bit CPU'sWhy?There are both 32 and 64 bit versions. At least the Portable version appears to be 32 bit alright. though the usual b*ll§hit about 64 bit is provided:Without having to use the 32-bit compatibility layer in 64-bit Windows, native 64-bit browsers in general run faster and more efficient than their 32-bit counterparts, although synthetic tests may not provide you with conclusive results.or are you talking about the need for SSE2?http://www.palemoon.org/technical.shtml#CPUsupportAnd now, for NO apparent reason:jaclaz
Tripredacus
I never pay attention to what shows up on the new tab anyways. Currently it shows the most visited URLs. I'm pretty sure you can configure it anyways. Do you think they won't allow an option to change it in about:config?
TELVM
which doesn't run on 32 bit CPU'sThere is a 'legacy' 3.6.32 x86 version that runs OK on ancients. It has been EOL since 2012 but I can still browse decently with it on a PIII dinosaur I keep alive and kicking B) .The standard x86 version will run on anything from P4/Athlon64 inclusive onwards.I always run the Portable versions from ramdisk for good effect.? submix8c
Errr... meant that in reference to Firefox. Home Page is set to that, so the "?" meant "but New Tab always opens a Blank Page for me, so how would that work with the NEW Ad-feature?" How would that "override" that? TELVM
Not sure what you mean submix8c but I'd be surprised if the guy behind Pale Moon doesn't kill this ad crap with fire whenever it appears on FF.Illustrative quote:Oh dear, what have they done this time? ... ... I'm not adopting anything from Firefox 27 unless it's specifically desired for Pale Moon. That doesn't even have anything to do with being a more conservative user - if changes made are nonsensical or reduce intuitiveness or logic of the browser, why would I consider them? ...http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3803

Jody Thornton
I wonder though that as Pale Moon, Seamonkey and Waterfox update their Gecko engines though, will they get the ads in their newer builds too?And what if I want my "new tab" page to be my home page?
