  1. Hey, what happened to that guy telling me what my IP address is?
  2. I hope 3 days was enough time for you!
  3. You could even go down to 1024x768 resolution, if every bit counts. What resolution would you be running the game at? But maybe I'm confused because I think WOT = Wheel of Time, which is not a really demanding game and would run on that PC. http://www.allgame.com/game.php?id=19290&tab=sysreqs So it sounds like it is not Wheel of Time but something else?
  4. I installed a new hard drive for my friend and afterwards his DVD drive stopped reading CD-Rs. He had previously backed up all his files to CD-Rs because he did not have enough hard drive space. Then he bought a new hard drive and was going to transfer the files back, but now can't read any of those discs. It can read pressed CDs however. Previously, the DVD drive was connected via ATAPI using a 40pin cable and another (non-working) DVD drive was on the chain. Both drives were set for cable select. I removed the broken drive and mounted a new 250GB WD ATA HDD into the 5.25" drive bay by using a bracket. I connected the HDD to the IDE port (and the working DVD drive) using a new 40pin IDE cable. I set the DVD drive to slave and the HDD to master. At first glance it seemed like everything was fine. It was not able to read the CD-R that was already in the drive but that disc was scratched. It was able to read a music CD so I figured it was fine. The computer is an old Dell with Windows XP. I considered that part of the issue could be that the DVD drive is now a slave, however the interior of the chassis does not allow for a hard drive to be installed anywhere else, does not support SATA and slaving the new HDD to the existing one would require a longer than spec IDE cable. Any ideas?
  5. Yes, kinda. Some of this (new age religion) has the same types of "beliefs" regarding this or that, that you also see in religions. The only main difference is that it is more recent of a thing and there is no "holy" book involved. And, of course, there are differing opinions on the matter as well. There seems to be some group of similar thinking people that make these websites and I don't personally agree with their views. If one is to believe in such a thing as reincarnation, then a person who is re-born as a human being would have lived their previous life not on the planet Earth. This is simply what a star seed is. Should any of those things actually exist, that is. Now to go further and start talking about actual relationship of a star seed to the phenomenon of UFOs, space aliens, reptile men, energy polarity, and secret organizations ran by space monsters, I'm not so sure of that.
  6. Please staff just ban this punk, he is just a little s*** who at every opportunity disrespects the developers and members of this site, he is a complete waste of space and a complete troll. The forum staff shall ban users who break the forum rules. If there is indication that a user has violated a rule, report it or PM a moderator. You are not allowed to flame a user for any reason.
  7. I have edited SEO content from your post. As a warning, do not copypasta content without citing where your quotes come from.
  8. Well since you can't distribute Windows 7 sources, I can't imagine why this would be an issue.
  9. I would create a new user account, log into it, go to a website or something then try a shut down and see if it happens there. Its likely a running application causing the problem, and if you are lucky it will be profile specific. Meaning, a new user profile might not have that program.
  10. Ok, breach of contract is illegal correct? Take Visa for example, merchants are not allowed to store CVV codes. If any Visa cards are within this database and CVV values are stored, they would be in breach of the Visa Merchant Agreement for accepting Visa card payments. http://usa.visa.com/download/merchants/card-acceptance-guidelines-for-visa-merchants.pdf
  11. You could run the command with ProcMon running. You'll probably find it unable to find a dependent file that contains the function it is looking for. It might be worthwhile to determine which file this is and where it is located, or where the software expects it to be located. For example, it may be looking for it with a relative path, or using an Environment Variable that is not used in WinPE, etc.
  12. I did some quick searching but there doesn't seem to be anything free besides Logon auditing. Or maybe you can try something like this: http://www.intelliadmin.com/index.php/2008/03/use-auditing-to-track-who-deleted-your-files/
  13. There's a problem with this story. It specifically points out that the attack was done in a store and not online, however it doesn't match up with the data stolen. CVV codes are only printed on the card and not part of magnetic strip data. So in order for CVV codes to be part of the data, it would have come from instances where they were manually entered during a purchase. A standard purchase at target does not use this code. To my knowledge, the only time you'd need it is if you were returning an item for credit and money was added back to your card through a request to the card company. The other place this code could be used is online. It is possible that this database had a field for CVV codes but it was not present for a lot of customers. Unfortunately, Target has itself a larger problem. It is illegal for a merchant to store CVV codes in a database for any reason. http://blog.elementps.com/element_payment_solutions/2011/03/staying-within-pci-dss-requirements-when-storing-cvccvv2-information.html https://www.braintreepayments.com/blog/merchants-are-prohibited-from-storing-cvv2-csc-per-pci-standards Information regarding the code and the magnetic strip: https://secure.bmtmicro.com/resources/info/CVV.html
  14. That driver works perfectly fine with WinPE4. Make sure that you aren't just trying to use the INF. You need all the other files in the driver's original folder. It would be nice to know exactly what DISM says in the offline injection error.
  15. The industry seems to think there is some great difference between a Server OS compared to a desktop one. There really isn't. It just comes with extra programs and boots to the equivalent of Computer Management by default. You'll probably want to add the File and Storage Services role at least... maybe Web Server or Application Server but I guess it depends on what you'll be doing with the thing.
  16. WinPE doesn't have everything a normal OS has. What is Apoint.exe?
  17. I've heard of such a thing but never experienced it myself. Are these computers on a network that contains a domain?
  18. Welcome to the MSFN!
  19. I've used Palemoon at home for a while now. Its basically the same as Firefox now, I can't tell the difference except some of the UI buttons are in different places. Neat trick, I'd like to try it! Any tips on how to do this, or is it considered un-kosher? --JorgeA Its a User Agent switcher. I have those mods in Firefox/Palemoon too. I primarily use them for development/debugging and don't actually use it on a constant basis.
  20. It would still be a novelty item until it can be made to handle more adverse commuting conditions. For example, we have cars that can go about in all sorts of conditions. Rain, snow, wind, it can do these no problems. Wind is a larger conversation than what we would think. We can barely tell wind unless it is a certain speed while in a car. It would be totally different in a flying vehicle. It seems that even the most high tech flying vehicle available today would have limited use due to environmental conditions. For example, while the idea of having a flying car would have been nice last night, it would have been totally useless had I had one instead of a normal car. So much snow and wind, I would have been grounded with nowhere to go. At least in my car I could inch along for 2 hours to get home.
  21. Well, fortunately you can tell from github that there seems to be no participation on that one. Was this supposed to be a new topic or a reply in a thread?
  22. It doesn't have anything to do with the Funny Farm. My post is related to why the spam posts even showed up at all in this topic. You are right, it can (and does) happen in any public forum... like that Office one.
  23. You know the trick of the team spammers. The first person goes and makes a question with specific keywords in it. Then after the page gets indexed and shows up in the search engine (usually a day or 2 later) the spam bot comes into the thread and posts a reply. There is a way in the forum software to block spiders from accessing publicly viewable subforums, but that setting isn't enabled for the Funny Farm. As such there is currently no safe place for a spam post to show up without it being found on google for the bots to visit.
  24. Put your command line into LaunchApps. The top-level object [LaunchApp] is only for setting environment variables. Since you did not specify an AppPath in LaunchApp, it was ignored.
