  1. Hey, why are you doubtful! Your 1 gigahertz is quite sufficient to run Longhorn/Vista (for today atleast). Just check that you also have 256 MB of memory. And download the beta1 and enjoy!
  2. Amusing....Did you see the forum rules?
  3. Because laptops are nothing but mobile PCs.
  4. Well, the 6630 and 7610 both dont have FM radio. Plus lots of software is not compatible with those models. And if you're going for a high-end, then going for a non-OS phone would be a horrible decision. The k700i does not run symbian OS, and its camera is of poor quality, plus lots more problems with it. The Nokia 3230 is the BEST choice currently. It has everything I want - and that seriously means a LOT. The keypad takes just a few hours to get used to. So its the one to choose - Rs. 14.5k. And if you want more memory then buy a 512 MB memory card (DV-RS-MMC). If you have extra cash to splurge, then go for the 7710 instead - 19k. But then, its design makes it difficult to hold in ONE HAND. Plus its keypad is non-existent, its a touch-screen. But the advantages are that it is a 3G phone, has wide-screen, has 90 MB memory (compared to the 6 or 8 MB of most other smartphones).
  5. Is your Media Center, of version 2005 ? (or XP home/pro with SP2 *integrated*) Then it should work just fine straight away. First check if your bluetooth adapter got detected by the system at all, by the system, in device manager - you should have a device category called "Bluetooth Radios". After that, the bluetooth device wizard will search for, and detect your phone. If the first step - Bt adapter detection - itself is not happening, then its possible that there's some problem with it. Get a new one. And then, even if the new one is working fine, its possible that it wont be compatible with your phone, in which case you'd need something else again. So get an exchange-assurance from the shopkeeper before buying it. If you'd like to know, this is what I have: Nokia 3230 (bluetooth 1.1), and its working perfectly with an X-Micro USB Bluetooth Dongle. The dongle costed rupees 1450.
  6. In that case, alcohol again is cool, its pretty small. (consider that it can even replace your CD-writing software, besides making and mounting images)
  7. Forget about Neptune. It turned into what we know today as XP home. But Neptune (in THEORY) promised many features beyond what we see today in XP. You'd be better off to download longhorn beta1/beta2 builds which have everything that Neptune had, and more. Windows Vista (codenamed longhorn) is exactly what Neptune was supposed to be.
  8. One more thing to add - Its ironic that the Personal Computer is being used mostly in public use places. The real "personal" device is the mobile phone that you, and only you, use.
  9. heheYou know you're senior when you start getting annoyed about new-comers asking Q's that have already been discussed.
  10. ROFL 99 years old? truthfully? Anyways, congrats!
  11. Wow... you just ruined the joke <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm, no, see the underlined DISK and you'll know the joke wasnt ruined...
  12. Do you run Win2k or XP ? Then just go to Add/Remove Programs and install IIS. Then go to Computer Management and make a new ftp site. After that, just about all PCs on your LAN can access the files you share on the ftp server, thru plain browser itself.
  13. Yup, running Vista beta1 since the last week or so... Runs pretty decent whether u give it 512 MB or 256 MB of memory. Occupies 3.2 GB of HD space after install, but refuses to install if your C: partition is any less than 7 GB. Havent seen any of the desktop 3D (DWM) since i dont have a GeForce FX series card here, which is what that feature needs. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yup, i remember that one.But no one should mis-understand that one - because that "average" spec was thought up at a different time. That was a time when longhorn promised absolutely everything possibly imagined, including a fully new 3D interface and an SQL file-system. Today, it doesnt look all that good anymore - Vista is just an evolution of XP, not a Revolution. So contemporary high-end hardware should be able to handle Vista pretty well, when it comes out.
  14. Exactly, it could not be bought separately. Emerald? But that's not MCE 2005 anyways. Maybe called 2006... Yup. Pretty much everyone has it. Since quite a long time.
  15. Congrats to you! I just wish Halo had bots, so that a deathmatch could be played offline against AI...
  16. 1. Nope, MCE 2002 is not supposed to be sold like that at all.2. MCE 2005 is not in beta. Its been out since November 2004 approx.
  17. Yes, you can have both versions running together. For example, Word/Excel/PowerPoint from Office 2003. And Access/FrontPage from Office 2000.
  18. Ok, removed MDvill's avatar. Please read the forum rules before doing something you may be unsure about.
  19. This section is for GIVING tips and tweaks. Please post requests for tweaks, and unattended-windows stuff, in some other section of the forums, where its appropriate.
  20. Basically, this is the command-line way to do it: for %%i in (%systemdrive%\install\regtweaks\*.reg) do start /wait regedit /s %%i. Now since it needs to be executed using a command prompt, cmd.exe /C "for %%i in (%systemdrive%\install\regtweaks\*.reg) do start /wait regedit /s %%i" is the way to do it. Now since it needs to be in an XML, here's a example: <item ...> <execute display="Logon options..." desc="Applying registry entries"> <program>CMD.EXE</program> <arguments>/C "for %%i in (%systemdrive%\install\regtweaks\*.reg) do start /wait regedit /s %%i"</arguments> <hide>true</hide> <wait>true</wait> </execute> </item>
  21. One suggestion i can give, is to download Paint .NET. Then, open the image in it, and use the "Magic Wand" tool to select only the object alone and leave out the white space. And save it in exactly the format you want.
  22. Hi Zxian,What you thought is true - its by design and is meant to be that way. Its not a bug, I doubt that InvisionPower is going to remove this facility in v2.1...
  23. Just as expected. Firefox seems to generate a compulsive "me too" mentality... The real reason behind this torrent extension, is for parity with Opera. And the feedview, is for parity with IE7. Saw it coming.... First they denounce opera as bloatware, then they "borrow" that feature for themselves.
  24. Leave alone IT/BPO, ethics and integrity are needed in ANY industry, no matter what skills it demands.
