  1. from above review:
  2. Ah, then please let us know the answer to the question above!
  3. Nothing to say, as far as my end is concerned. Because I had the same requirement as you described, and the solution i posted, is the one that works perfectly... If its not working, it might be user-error. As for the INFs, there's a number of reasons as to why editing the ones in i386 is NOT the way to go.
  4. hmm.... Your intentions are good, but: 1. A batch file converted to EXE is still as fast or slow as it already was. 2. Custom bootloader is fine, but the problem is you still will end up starting setup from DOS (=slow). 3. diskpart? Does it run in DOS-mode? (it runs only in windows mode, or winPE-mode, and if you're going to use winPE, you might as well not waste your energies on all the other groundwork proposed...) Please note that this is not to dis-courage you, its an honest input from one who has gone down the same path as you, previously. Anyways, goodluck with it. *topic being moved, was posted in incorrect section
  5. Some months ago, we used to see custom-built distributions of the firefox browser - containing the browser plus a whole lot of extensions, all built into one single package. But now that excitement seems to have died out. Now, we have many firefox users here. And many of us are into unattended windows setup. So, it would be nice if the firefox dudes posted their firefox setups - with extensions already integrated - link to download also necessary. Lets see how many people will post! One of the distros that were nice, was SiMoNsAyS's pack - it was approx 18 MB and contained LOT of extensions too. So if you're reading this, do post up an updated version of that, or whatever it is, that you use currently. Good luck to everyone's distro efforts!
  6. @devhooda: Please click the "reply" button to post something. The "report" button is *NOT* for posting, its for REPORTING wrong-doing by some other member, to the mods or admins.
  7. phpBB is okay for basic needs, but it starts from an incredibly handicapped position, and not too many ppl are in the mood to install 2000 mods to the forum software, to do what they are accustomed to, with other boards straightaway....
  8. You missed the details! Take a closer look. Lets say you want to be able to send email with your "from:" address as "me@yahoo.com". Then you first set it up in Gmail prefs, then Gmail sends you a mail to your specified address at yahoo, and you need to click the link in the mail, to verify that you are the owner. ONLY then can you send mails posing as that address. So you see, this facility is very different from spammers, who send mails from non-existent addresses.
  9. Is that browser independant, or is it based on an existing engine like IE or gecko?
  10. Yes, its possible. Make a win98 boot-disk. Edit the autoexec.bat to add the partitioning and formatting commands you want (norton's gdisk.exe, or scripted partition magic 8), alongwith the conditional loop you mentioned above. Then make a boot-image and use it on CD as boot-sector. But then, you'll have the disk booting from DOS, and setup will be very slow. Also it might take time before you manage to get the CD-ROM drivers properly loaded each time & start setup off it. You might be better off just leaving the setup automated as it is now, except that it should stop & ask you for the partitioning, during textmode setup.
  11. ****! Its these things that make our open & free lives, paranoid....
  12. Hmm.... **** interesting! On the lighter side, thank god my head will just stay as large as it is, right now, and I am in no danger of a sudden head swelling. Unless of course, someone gives a bashing....
  13. Hmm... "recall" do you mean, see it again, to see what you had sent? Then it must be present in the "sent" folder.
  14. DL has posted most of what I'd have said.... As for that, its optional. If you WANT to, then it will do it for you. Otherwise, its designed to be self-contained. Load from CD into RAM, and thats about it.
  15. Wow thanks war59312! Regarding the movies posted above, Has anyone seen this one? I knew to the extent that the movie was about HAL 9000. But this sentence is fascinating: What do the aliens do to the humans?
  16. Thanks, but advertising your own product or site, on first post, is considered spamming. Still, I'm gonna move this topic to tech-news, and if it benefits anyone, then well and good....
  17. nice explanation! Gotta remember to narrate it, the next time someone questions it...
  18. Haha, thats right. And as simonsays puts it,

  20. Dont worry Qz, topic will be moved to the appropriate place. Thanx vando2k for noticing it... Also, please give your topic a proper title, so that people will see it - else "hi guys" will just be by-passed by most ppl... Anyways, you can do what you mention above - its called a multi-boot CD. Also, you need not necessarily use linux. You just need a tool called EasyBoot. Please read this topic first - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=25128 And then, if you have any questions, we'd be happy to answer them...
  21. It contains the instructions in itself. Just see its switches to know how to use it. Type this in a command prompt: nerocmd.exe /? But then, the screen scrolls past, too soon. So do this instead: nerocmd.exe /? >> "%userprofile%\desktop\nerocmdusage.txt"That command will output a text file on your desktop, with instructions on usage of NeroCmd. Hoping this helps....
  22. Why would it come again? It was part of Age of Empires series, aint it? It just got an expansion pack - The Titans - and that was it..... Now the next one to look forward to, is AoE-3.
  23. MyBB is a fast and free web-forum, that looks something like vBulletin, and has most of the features of IPB. http://community.mybboard.net/showthread.php?tid=3528
  24. Thanks to DL for bringing this to attention.
