I think this error means that SyncToy needs .NET Framework, try installing v2.0, let me know did that help.

They are boot sector parts for the mkisofs tool. Use the newest nlite (or 1.2.1) and use the default ISO engine and it won't create those two files.

UtCollector, I see you have some files in the Remove box. Please try once without using it, it doesn't clean the file calls from every inf out there, only the basic ones. This must be the cause of your missing files. Also use the clean installation files. And does your source has sp1 and sp2 in it or just sp2?

Do you know of a tweak to remove that syncronize button? Usually menus are not editable, they are fixed as they are. When Internet Explorer is removed you don't remove MS HTML Engine aka IE core, that's why Internet Options are there for e.g. Maxthon to use it. With IE GUI removed and if you use lets say Firefox, you are safe to keep IE Core because it's needed for many things.

Hanschke, yes put system32\sti.dll line in the protect files box and next time you remove WIA that file will be kept and all ok. If you don't want to reinstall then get sti.dll from someone and copy it in your system32 folder.

stone123, did you keep both Chinese languages and is it RTM? If you did then attach your preset.

frederikshavn just solved his corrupted CAB issue. What he does is copy the full Driver.cab and SP2.cab files to replace those broken on the CD. frederikshavn, if you run Winrar Test on your original CD CABs you'll find them corrupted, that's why you had those errors of missing files. This issue was posted few times and there is nothing I can do, not my fault. But replacing CABs with full versions is actually the best solution. However this is only if your CAB files are corrupted, don't this if you are missing some x file.

Nothing should remove it. How about that those files are inside one of your drivers...please search your drivers folders for those file names, just put extension as *. For example search for "hidserv.dl*" in case it's compressed. Also if you can try in virtual machine then try once without any addons or drivers. Always use clean installation files...if you use any other tool besides nlite let me know.

newsposter, I ment that the causes were found and posted in those threads. For example the "missing setup.exe" is nothing more than removal of Manual Install component. Under 3 is the nhelper missing, I got that here and fixed for next version. Ut\Collector, seems to me that some of your hardware drivers is pulling those files during install? If it's missing during cd copy then attach your preset without any hotfixes or drivers in which you have confirmed missing files on one of the virtual machines...please RaGhul, I'm not THAT defensive or otherwise the app wouldn't be what it is. Anyone can post a bug report if it's confirmed by them...and if I manage to repeat it it will be fixed. There are 2-3 known common scenarios of the missing files, they include winnt.exe install and files above 8 letters...sp2 over sp1 integration...and corrupted CAB files before nlitement. Kiki Burgh, I prefer fixing, rather than sticking I fixed every common bug so far, why would this be any different. It's combination of other tools and that's kinda boring to test since I don't feel solely responsible for the incompatibilities.

qfox, thanks for pushing me to try it again and yes it's true, something breaks it but in my case it's not (only) Movie Maker...it's with Media Center...anyway tests are under way and it will be fixed. About mht it was like that in XP too...it's simply integrated into Outlook Express/Mail. Gonna try to make some kind of option to keep only needed portion but I'm not that keen on such exhibition.

1 and 3 are solved and unrelated. But 2 and 4 are probably because of incompatibility with Driver Packs integration.

Are you using Driver Packs? Not just integrated with nlite but with their tool also? Seems to me that few similar posts all have that in common.
