    UAC on vLite Startup

There is nothing to be fixed, I made it to require UAC elevation because it needs that in order to operate properly. Try any tweaking utility and it will do the same.
  2. Oh a typo. I ment "you can use the boot.bin file from the vLite's root as a boot sector if needed." For example in cdimage the -b switch is to select the boot sector, otherwise it won't boot when created.
  3. When I start removing the WMP I'll keep that in mind. Have you maybe missed the forum, are you talking about nLite?
  4. Dakirn, do you even know how big is the full 64bit install! ISO 3.6GB, Windows with Program Files are 11GB.
  5. It's only the ISO creation problem, make the final ISO from the modified folder with some other tool, like Microsoft CDIMAGE or OSCDIMG you can use boot.bin as a boot folder from the vLite. In the meantime please tell me your exact drive model, also try it with VMware or Virtual PC, and do they boot from it? If not I'll need just one more thing.
  6. Dakirn, as XtremeMaC said use the Rebuild option (that's second one on Apply) prathapml, sure, it's the Windows\winsxs but it's tied with the other needed runtimes so I advise against playing with it unless you know what you're doing. I am considering it for some time now but it's not clean as removing it with the removed component. It would be easier it there are not also the components which are pulled from control panel Programs - Windows Features. So I'm guessing that such option would require from the user to give up the ability to add not installed windows features. Which I'm guessing isn't a big problem for a majority.
  7. Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. Gonna do it in next one probably.
  8. prx984, 512RAM tap52384, this tweak is for compatible only because it's needed when WinSAT removed. Why would you even want it on the non-compatible cards, it will go slow. If you have a good experience with it I may add that too. KRYOGENIUS, well searching inside the files for a related text, then when you get one others are all structured similiarly. iwod, experience and vista's way of setup, both contributed to the speed. Almost all is removable, not to worry, it will be small as nlited XP, or at least very close to it. XPero, let me know when you check it if it's ok, i used only the fontsubstitute tweaks because that area is for that, other parts of the tweak weren't so clean, and you can return to default with vlite, just reverse the tweak. Jeronimo, yeah the gallery missing is a bug, corrected. About other I'll save it for review. markusdlv, listen now, ALL DVD files are extracted (from the image file), 90% of them are DOUBLE copied (in cache and installed). How about that for an answer? Vista doesn't install it just extracts. For "dead links" read the referrer guide, or just search for it, I'll add unprotected mirrors soon. edit: Updated it silently, now includes PhotoGallery
  9. Try installing the VC8 runtimes http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...99-220b62a191ee

    raid on P5B Deluxe

I'm not familiar with the mirroring, I do only stripping, but I believe that in any RAID it has to wipe the hard drive so that the new file system tables, or whatever, are setup properly. You will be able to adjust another blank drive once your original drive is RAID 1, but now none of your drives is RAID so I'm affraid you'll have to lose all the data. I have ICH8r as well, just download the Intel Matrix Storage application, run the setup, don't push next but go in your temporary folder and find the subfolder with the Driver and Driver64 folders in it, they are your needed txtmode drivers, copy them for later and integrate those with nlite and select all ICH8 on the list once prompted. Also integrate the chipset driver, called Intel INF driver. Oh, oh almost forgot...download and integrate the Jraid IDE txtmode driver, unless your DVD drive is SATA too. Setup your CD, test it that it boots properly with the BIOS set to SATA RAID and that it sees the drive. Only then create the array, of course backup all you need. Also I went through all that and I can say that there is a big chance something will go wrong so have another PC at hand to redo your CD or something if needed. As you can see a lot of work but once you have all the drivers in your Windows it will be transparent, I just load my last nlite preset and reinstall, forgot that I had to do all that.
  11. Markus1972, yes I'm aware of that and I have tried everything, simply can't make it to BSOD. If you could do some testing it would be very appreciated. For example you could install XP SP2 without anything installed and try it, it won't BSOD, then, other reported, some of the installed programs does that, maybe even a tweak, who can tell. If I had the BSOD it would be fixed, I'm so annoyed by this, and I believe it's true, got the report from 4-5 people by now, other probably just saw the report and felt like no point in repeating...
  12. Integrate SP2 in it, now I see that the Filter Manager isn't there in the original, I keep mine with SP2 always. Gonna update the message, thx. edit: But are you on Vista or XP? Because if you're on Vista don't install anything, the Filter Manager should be there.
  13. CD size reached! Much memory saved, RAM and HDD. Fulfilled some of your wishes as well. Changes and download. update: Silently updated to include PhotoGallery which was not detected in initial 0.8 release.
  14. Ok, no problem.
  15. Yes Framework 2 is in Vista already but why does it fail for you, and why did you have the compact, unless developing for it...maybe that corrupted it. Or it's ok and your vlite download is corrupted. Do you have some other pc to try it...please do.
  16. And I can't explain what the file is? Ok, noted.
  17. Duh! While this is good news I'm not satisfied because now we don't know exactly what it is and it will make me ignore similar errors in the future. It's either your pc was overclocked or bad memory or just set wrongly in the bios (little unstable) or some antivirus/spyware installed messing up with the process. I'm betting on the last because it was reported before too, unless you experienced some other apps or games failing (the instability).
  18. No, Compact isn't full. You can find the full 32bit here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en Uninstall that one before installing this.
  19. I don't believe that you can sell modified Windows, only OEM vendors which have agreement with Microsoft are allowed to. So the answer is no.
  20. Thanks
  21. That means "The data is invalid". Since you say it works then wait next version on monday and let me know if it still fails.
  22. User Framework Lite and not full version?
  23. Sure, I'm annoyed by that too. Started with the already present languages in the current version because they are huge, these others are tiny in comparison so they won't be in the next update or two. Basically first are going big, in-memory or intrusive components, then cleanups.
  24. This is simply weird. Do you have the nlite.in_ file in the i386 folder of the problematic setup? Also check the txtsetup.sif file for nlite.inf entry, please paste it. Oh and one last question, do you boot from a CD or run a winnt(32).exe?
  25. I'm glad that the other engine works but weird that the default one broke during ISO creation. Nevermind until it starts happening to others too, thx for reporting.
