    Nlite logging

No log, the report which you get is enough to debug. Checking KB917953... edit: checked with 2k3 sp1 and it worked, now trying without SP1 edit2: worked without sp1 Can you be more specific, KB917953 worked for me, maybe your example wasn't based on the failed hotfix?
  3. Have you tried only selecting the Hotfix page? It will add nlite.inf where it keeps the added reg entries, nothing weird there. But what folders? Some hotfixes add folders in txtsetup.sif, maybe that's what you're referring to? Svcpack folder also is part of hotfixes "must" routines.
  4. It is necessary. Some incompatibility exists with their filter and wim filter. All connected to filter manager. Let me know if they respond or even fix. But I got this report from a few people with different antivirus programs so it may be Microsoft's bug in the WIM. And if one must be objective it can be my mistake also.
  5. Pistolero, probably fileflags entries in the txtsetup.sif, one of their users found that. You can see the difference yourself and add missing entries.
  6. Maybe you didn't get the level of weirdness of this error, the Integrator won't save you unless they added few entries to prevent it: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1653 http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1201 This is something with your specific version of windows if I may guess. I'm not saying it's not legal version, just it's different. Let me know what you find out I haven't researched yet.
  7. razormoon, it won't remove remote settings unless you SELECTED "Remote Desktop and Assistance" for removal. Why am I screaming...it's just to note that select means to remove, sometimes people think that unselected means to remove, as it should in the perfect world If you still say that it did remove on it's own then please try 0.8 and let me know.
  8. Ok if I understood it correctly the default engine worked on VMware but failed on the real drive. I'll contact you if I need more info, thx.
  9. hehe, ok I saved it for trial and will contact you when I have something, gotta rest first it was a couple of busy days.
  10. So dramatic. Thank you for reporting but this error is one of those rare ones so you won't find many people confirming this, if any. This was reported from the very nlite beginnings every now and then...but too rare to gain priority. And of course I tried to reproduce it, maybe this time i'll be more lucky. Can you explain to me in a few simple steps how to reproduce it? Also are you using clean Windows (with service pack) as a starting point.
  11. mitsukai, your error isn't related to the installer entry. Check if you installed the IE7 hotfixes which are in it.
  12. Pistolero, no, please compress and attach the txtsetup.sif. But this error is somehow familiar...are you telling me that the other engine works?
  13. That file also doesn't contain the 307 folder. And since nlite isn't using numbers below 1976 or so do tell what other tweaking have you done that added these lines: delpseud.inf = 1,,,,,,,307,0,0 mpixp32.cat = 1,,,,,,,307,0,0 They are your problem. Figure out which tool and report to them.
  14. I finally managed to reproduce it and on my astonishment it breaks on any file browsing. Just checking if file exists. Meaning that the image mounted is somehow buggy. Now the bad news, for some, is that it's not my fault. This guy has the same issue but with microsoft tool imagex http://www.osronline.com/showThread.cfm?link=99779 So that means it's the Wim filter driver and that antivirus are killing each other...or something. If someone can figure out his debug trace let me know, maybe we can solve it ourselves until Microsoft updates the driver...or something.
  15. vim, good. Can you please try the VirtualPC or VMWare with the non-working ISO/CD to see if they can boot, so that I know it's you drive specific or something with files.
  16. alwayscamp, ok in that case I had that too on one freshly nlited PC. However during installing the usual stuff it was solved so I'll let you know when I find what it was. Some runtime...maybe XML parser update. testnet, great.

    Wim Filter Error

No, I don't have any other version. aydc, are you too not running the RTM Vista?
  18. Since everyone uses WMP11 codecs/filters there is not much point in keep the old wmp9 parts.
  19. Just to let you know that it is now updated to RC2 and if you use RVM 2.16 pack then use 1.3RC2, won't work with others, there will be file missing to be exact.
  20. Updated to RC2, please someone try it if it solves this MSI permission thing.
  21. Ok, I know what that is, the end of file character. Gonna make the autocleanup of those. It actually is there on original XP disc, but nlite moves it upwards during integration of new lines which is a bug. Thanks, and let me know if 1.3 rc2 doesn't solve it for you, out soon.

    raid on P5B Deluxe

Don't know what the SP is, I just selecting it on the integrate folder list, don't move anything. As you realized there is no difference, it's just to make it easier to integrate a lot of subfolders.
  23. The modified version is missing the 307 folder line, thus the error. I'm guessing the Dell put there something which has a keyword which nLite removes with a certain component. So yes, compress and attach please.
  24. It should work whatever you remove. That error, do you get it right on vLite's startup or when clicking install filter or something?

    Wim Filter Error

What is the error reported? Like the file is already taken by another process or some weird number?
