This "file already used" error is unsolved so far, and it was reported 2-3 times, one user solved it by installing vlite into a program files instead of just extracting to E:\vlite or something, so try that for starters.

No, reinstall your Windows and next time be careful. Even in Compatibility you get an option to select Windows Activation and it saves all you need.

Yeah as far as I know it's Windows bug, I just used the documented unattended option. Since some said that the option still works I left it as it is.

You somehow disabled Administrator elevation with your policies tweaks. It's not missing any component, it's security lockdown. If you have that issue with vLite you'll have with many other software too so it's in your interested to find what it needs. Let us know when you find out, focus on policies, see about Admin elevation priviledges or something like that.

McoreD, do you have a antivirus installed? Btw one user reported me on the email a BSOD but it wasn't NTFS.SYS error. And it turned out that his image was somehow corrupted. So be sure if you got the ntfs.sys bsod and read the message in the bsod itself, it actually says disable your antivirus or defragmenter. And I would add uninstall not just disable, at least temporary until we track all causes.

Could be, that filter manager is only in xp sp2 and newer. But I managed to get that same error on heavily nlited xp sp2 if nothing else installed, could be some runtime file missing as well. Anyway for you installing SP2 will probably help. But since you haven't installed SP2 before I think that installing it only for vLite isn't an option anyway.

Just in case: That could have been COM/Serial Port or Firewire controller if removed in Hardware Support. Just turn them off in BIOS too and it won't be listed.

This really isn't normal so if you are interested lets continue investigating. First what is exactly the "regular n-lite Disc"...does that mean it was edited by an older nLite or it's clean full CD?

I don't understand the question...you select which image to edit, why would it edit others too? People also usually have one CD-Key thus rebuilding the image with only containing the selected OS is recommended.

How did you get that error in the first place? Did you delete nhelper from the cd manually or something? Do you get it on every restart? If so then remove the line containing it from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Copy your dvd with all files and folders into some folder, and then that folder is what you need.

Jeronimo, lets not jump with the conclusions. It deletes it with the Easy Transfer component, read the description. GoPool, well try it and don't remove the Easy Transfer. You can do all that virtually first if you don't want to risk your current OS.
