  1. Could very well be, not unexpected since the VGA is used. But have you compared memory consumption? Also this may spend laptop batteries faster but I'm just guessing. I like Glass and won't remove it, did it on request.

    error

  3. Markus1972, we still don't know where is the bug here. Filters, vLite, or couple of antivirus vendors (unlikely but maybe they have to adjust for the wim filter). So they just changed the engine used...that doesn't help to anyone except them. Maybe they could debug it and tell us what is actually killing what. edit: blah by seeing that people reported that since RC2 without vLite it makes me angry: "Been using it as my main OS since RC1. So it crashed sometimes. RC2 made that a lot better. Later builds haven't crashed at all (unless you use imagex to mount a WIM file read write while you have SAV 10.2 installed - that causes a BSOD, but only enterprise admins will be doing that)." 4. Yeah I can see that happening but only if you edited the preset manually, have you edited around users in the _u.ini preset?
  5. kikz66, how did you manage that? Please explain in few steps and attach your preset, thx.
  6. Tried your preset and selected Help to be removed, it worked fine. I use it like that for ages. Check in i386\ folder of the installation source. Is there msconfig.ex_ file? If yes then check the txtsetup.sif file for msconfig.exe entry.
  7. winnt32 /unattend:winnt.sif
  8. Have you tried running the msconfig from the Run box? It should be kept in the System32 folder. Also please remove the IIS.INF from the kept files. If you need it then just don't remove IIS.

    Is this stuck?

Have you tried typing msconfig in the Run box? It should be kept in the system32 folder.
  10. Shouldn't care. This is unexpected and never heard of before but now it is reported 3 times in one day so it's only a matter of time until it's tracked. When some of us finds the when I'll find why.

    Wim Filter Error

I'm always on heavily nlited OS but by installing all these developing tools they install all kinds of runtimes. Btw I don't touch services once removed, just remove all except Shell Services with IE7 compat ON. (that's around 3 services kept) Basically you gotta find what does the Filter Manager needs to operate. I would help you gladly but it simply works, and now that I go and disable stuff randomly would be foolish. Let me know what helps then I can put autodetection for it. Try first by enabling disabled services. I will try 'naked' fully nLited OS these days.

    WIMfilter problems

No, the solution will be in form: Install xx runtimes or copy xx.dll from full XP CD.
  13. vim, excellent! Now just some more of your patience and it will get fixed. Go in command line, focus on the source root folder, for example D:\VistaDVD from which you made that failing ISO. And type dir /s /b>list.txt then compress and attach or send me on email the list. edit: file list received and bug confirmed. will be fixed in the next version.
  14. Gone too far, we can't allow warez talk, don't take it personally gotta lock.

    Wim Filter Error

Weird... I mean I do get this error if vLite is interrupted at the wrong moment and the image is left used. But reboot solves it. When it's like this then try to reinstall your Wim filter from the vlite's folder \wimfltr and the appropriate architecture. Just right click the inf file and choose install.

    Error in 0.8 Beta

Thx, weird though. I tried it in E:\ and it worked, must be that I must run it from Vista, can't at the moment so I'll save this.
  17. Please read this topic which had similar error report and let me know if it helps: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=90533
  18. In that case try 0.8 in virtual (if you don't want to bother with real, it's all the same for the purpose of the test), and if it removes it again then please attach your preset and I'll fix.
  19. Yeah cool tweak.

    WIMfilter problems

You're kinda mixing the nlite/vlite but I get it, I saw the same on very lite pc when trying to install the Filter Manager. Gonna do some trials these days, must be dependency upon some new removable component. And I already said that by installing the normal programs it started working again...don't ask what it was , wasn't expecting it to so no log.
  21. cassius2117, right. I'm then waiting for a confirmation.

    Nlite logging

Got another similar report so there must be some truth in it. I'll try tomorrow to run it from 2k3, I ran it from XP, maybe that's it. Also if you're using some sort of 3rd party hotfix downloader try once manually. For example from the link I posted up.
  23. Please continue here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=90866 Because I tried one hotfix which is on your list too and it worked. Do you use latest nlite?
  24. nuhi

    Nlite logging

It reads what's in the inf. Tried the first one on the list: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en And it works with or without sp1. Are you using nLite 1.3rc2 ? Try it if you haven't.
  25. Then search the net for that file which is reported missing and copy it in your Windows\System32 folder. Btw it's not part of Windows from the start, it's Visual Studio runtime, version 7.
