All is good on WinXP SP2 English using 61017b . Everything went through without a hitch ! Will also run dumpdupes.cmd on my computer to see. Edit: Wow! 61019a already ! Shouldn't make a difference for me though

I just tested this, and the problem occurs for me too. It must be a limitation of IPB or something.

Problem with WGA Notifications (KB905474)
Super-Magician replied to Super-Magician's topic in HFSLIP
@cse, WGAN (KB905474) is no longer a critical update on WU. You may safely remove it (I don't believe it is updated any longer). -
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx Microsoft just released it. I checked about an hour ago and it wasn't there yet. Now it is! English Downloads Windows XP (SP2) - x86 Windows 2003 (SP1) - x86 Windows 2003 (SP1) - x64 Windows 2003 (SP1) - ia64 Edit: Oops! Sorry, didn't realize it was already posted on the main page and everything. Never mind...

I have received information from sources that Microsoft has released the final version of Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP SP2 and Windows XP 2003 SP1. I have the direct MS link (actually, forwarding link) to the English x86 version for Windows XP. I do not believe Microsoft has officially launched it yet, however. Do you think we can have support for it soon ? Edit: I now have the links to all English versions. Edit #2: Guess what? Microsoft just released it! Here are links: Windows XP (SP2) - x86 Windows 2003 (SP1) - x86 Windows 2003 (SP1) - x64 Windows 2003 (SP1) - ia64

That's great, Camarade_Tux!
-
@wela, this probably won't be your problem, but please try HFSLIP without modifying the script. Humans aren't known for their perfection in changing things . @Camarade_Tux, you've been reporting restart problems for quite a while. Are you sure it isn't one of your hotfixes that's broken? I also noticed that you're including an ENU update (Q810243) and four updates (one of which is that ENU hotfix) labeled "WXP_SP2" in their filenames. @Tomcat76, do you still need any tests with XP SP2 English? Hopefully you'll be able to get this final out soon.
-
@Kiki Burgh: Regarding your question about Type 1 and Type 2 hotfixes, Type 1 fixes require the /quiet /norestart switch (or equivalent). I believe Type 2 is something like /Q:A /R:N.
-
Please post your HFSLIP.LOG file (zipped).
-
Yes, the_guy mentioned this briefly before as well. Tomcat?
-
@wela Hmmm...weird. Tomcat and others just reported errors with DX9 slipstreaming on 2K, but you are using 61014c and report no problems.
-
Yeah, you probably won't need/want the XACT and XINPUT binaries until games use DirectX 10 .
-
@Tomcat and @glentium, thanks . @Tomcat again: I do not believe AHTEST needs to be set in AUTORUN mode because that section is bypassed. And, yes, I understand why you don't want to discuss this too much.
-
Ah, OK, thanks. I've probably read upon that before, but I'm too lazy to remember and/or search
-
@glentium, yes. @Tomcat, I seem to be having a problem with HFANSWER.INI. Unless I'm doing something wrong, the DRIVERCOMP option I select is not recognized properly. I used to use option A, but I recently changed it to D. When I run HFSLIP, it still uses option A. But I think I know why! Because I set the %RELEASE% variable to AUTORUN, it doesn't call the section that sets %MULTICAB% to ON. RELEASE=AUTORUN DRIVERCOMP=D SBOOTPATH=1 INSTALLRC=1 INCWMPCSKIN=1 ISONAME=XPVOL1_61013a.iso ISOTITLE=VRMPVOL_EN FORCECDIMAGE=1 CDIMGSW=-t10/13/2006,12:00:00 -h -n -x -o -m MKISSW=-relaxed-filenames -d -D -N -J -no-emul-boot -no-iso-translate -boot-load-size 4
-
Hmmm...just wanted to revive this thread and see if TommyP or Tomcat are still interested in it. It seems like a good idea .
-
So then what's the point of including it ? Also, since when has HFSLIP had CD burning in it (see glentium's HFSLIP screen log)? I guess you put it in yourself?
-
Finally MS releases a new D3DX9 binary! BTW, am I right in that the latest test release supports all of the XACT and XINPUT CABs?

Regarding KB923996-v2: Microsoft is notoriously inaccurate with many of their web pages. MS06-042 is definitely for KB918899. KB923996 was not released in any security update cycle AFAIK. Ignore it . @Tomcat, saugatak is correct in regards to KB917159 (MS06-035). It was replaced by KB923414 (MS06-063). (Unfortunately, this was posted in the wrong place so I need to move it)
-
Perfect. Thanks!
-
Just edited my post. That's not what's wrong, but there is some problem. Your regular list loads perfectly.
-
Hmmm...seems you forgot something in creating those beta hotfix lists. The CSS file is not loaded (in the winup dir, not the winup/beta dir) . Edit: Oh, wait, that's not it. But something is not right.
-
@Tomalak/Tomcat, seems I forgot that support for KB914440 was never in the actual script. When I mentioned it briefly in the New updates thread or something, someone said it was supported so I never bothered to check Thanks.

Glad to see you're back, FDV !
