  1. I'm not sure why you would need to rename the source and destination directories, but Tomcat would probably be able to implement something of that sort in HFANSWER.INI. However, this goes back to the %XPAND% issue we had a few months ago. He would need to change every instance of SOURCE (and possibly SOURCESS) to a variable (although this is easy enough to do, it's just unnecessary bloat in the script). Regarding your second suggestion, in my opinion it isn't too hard to just run HFSLIP again every time, is it? Again, I think implementing something for this becomes too much bloat. Please remember my opinions do not necessarily reflect those of the authors [TommyP and Tomcat76]. Wait for their final word.
  2. It's been done! Anyway, suggestion for you, Tomcat: rename the thread to HFSLIP test releases so at least people who've never encountered this forum know at a glance what the thread is for. However, I completely understand if you think that "Test releases" in this forum could only mean "test releases for HFSLIP." Also, the main post still refers to "the new final released on August 4."
  3. The KB917008 will show up in Windows Update because it cannot slipstreamed. Tomcat has it integrated via SVCPACK.
  4. I know, sorry, I forgot to update that. A silent update to v1.19 was released two days after Patch Tuesday. Will update in a little bit (as soon as I get onto my home computer) .
  5. @Tomalak, what you posted would technically be considered a crack.
  6. I don't think it is a good idea to post this, but that's just my opinion. Again, Tomcat76 and TommyP have the final word, but to integrate such a thing into HFSLIP detaches from its purpose.
  7. There really isn't a difference, but for some reason I think AutomaticUpdates=0 would work better.
  8. There is an entry in WINNT.SIF that turns Automatic Updates off, but I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. [Data] AutomaticUpdates=0
  9. Hmmm...that's weird! MS released v1.19 before Patch Tuesday?
  10. I'm guessing you forgot to do this, but ... 1. Title still says "1.0 RC8 Beta5". 2. There is still a button for Properties under File. 3. Your own powpack.ini file is packed in.
  11. In both IE and Firefox on my computer, Yzöwl's name does not appear properly on the Links page. I think there is a problem with the rendering of the "ö" symbol. In IE, the name appears as 'Yz?'. In Firefox, I see 'Yz?wl' where the ? is not plaintext but some special graphic.
  12. Actually, it seems I completely forgot to update my HFSLIP folder! I just checked and sure enough, I still had last month's batch of fixes!Silly me . Fixed !
  13. Thanks for the tip, the_guy! I also forgot KB918439 from June and the AOL ART image support hotfix.Silently updated . Please let me know if you see anything else amiss !
  14. If anyone wants these, here are the MD5 checksums of all English Windows 2000 SP4 hotfixes/updates (for non-server editions), placed in HF, as listed on Tomcat76's Win2K SP4 update page with all 15. List updated for August hotfixes. -- Super-Magician
  16. Actually, you are almost on the dot there, Kiki . KB917344 normally exists as a stand-alone hotfix (WindowsXP-KB917344-x86-ENU.exe). However, the newest version of Windows Script 5.6 (WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe), like you said, contains this update already in the setup file. As for the Windows Media Player update, the KB number is very close. KB917734 as opposed to the above update, KB917344. You still need to have this hotfix: WindowsMedia[x]-KB917734-x86-ENU.exe, where [x] is... * 8 and 9 (i.e. two files are required) for WMP9 on XP SP1 * 9 for WMP9 on XP SP2 * 10 for WMP10
  17. I am missing your HFSLIP.LOG file . I don't know if you tried HFSLIP_60804, but if the updates you mentioned worked with that version, it must work with 60810 because nothing was changed in regards to those hotfixes. Perhaps your CD-RW is buggy again? That notwithstanding... As Kiki mentioned, a new version of KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool) is released every month. The current latest version is v1.19. KB917344 only applies to Flash Player version 6 and below. If you slipstream KB905474, make sure you have version 1.5.0540.0 and that LegitCheckControl.cab does not exist in your HFCABS folder.
  18. Never mind. All seems to work well on 2000. Thanks again!
