  1. I haven't been paying much attention to my HFSLIP run window lately, so I just noticed this now. The CABCOMPACT section, as do many other sections, calls upon UNICAB2 to make the cabinet file. However, that section nulls the MAKECAB output, so the output of the long repacking process is gone too! Also, I assume you just overlooked this, but I've been *patiently* waiting for your reply regarding this.
  2. Thanks for the replies, Tomcat and the_guy. @Tomcat, good luck with IE7!
  3. OK, thanks for the reply. Sorry about all my confusing slightly-non-HFSLIP-related questions, but... 1. What switches instead of /Q:A /R:N do I use for a passive install. 2. So, if I just use "setup_wm.exe <switches>" from wmp11.exe (and then install wmfdist11.exe), I'll be fine? 3. If installing/slipstreaming/integrating this, do you still need wmfdist95, KB911564, and/or KB917734? Yes, there's WAY WAY too much bloatware in there! Oh my! Not only did they have bloat in the form of playlists, they had to pack another whole load of junk into six EXEs and a CAB inside the already-bloated package.
  4. Sorry if I should post this in the unattended section instead! Quick non-HFSLIP related question: To install Windows Media Player 11 silently (without any dialog boxes whatsoever), I would use either of the following. wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe /Q setup_wm.exe /Q:A /R:N /DisallowSystemRestore For the second option, what would the switches be if I wanted a passive installation instead (i.e. unattended but showing progress)? More questions: Are the following files really needed? If not, can I just use wmp11.exe inside the wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe package, or are other things needed, like the playlists outside of wmp11.exe? umdf.exe WindowsXP-MSCompPackV1-x86.exe wmdbexport.exe wmpappcompat.exe Summary: I'm looking for a way to best install the package and have the best compression.
  5. @Yzöwl, it's remotely possible that the bad MSXML updates did something with the Automatic Updates service. Try it again?
  6. Now, here's a reminder for you to check my post above.
  7. Thanks for this new feature! What do you think about adding the HFSLIP version to the ISO name or volume label? I'd like to see at a glance the version I used, not just when I created it.

    @TAiN: It's already been posted http://www.vorck.com/hfslip-info.html
  9. While there's a new test release? I think he means for the updated section for xp sp1 updates for the finals. the_guy That's right. The XP SP1 updates are still dated 09-30-2006. Also, why are the beta lists still there?
  10. @Tomcat, when are you planning on updating your signature?
  11. Tomcat, can you provide support for Windows Defender (final) if it is not yet supported? I think I read something somewhere about MSI files but I'm too lazy to look .
  12. IE7 by itself is not yet supported by HFSLIP. You may create a switchless installer for it though and place it in HFSVCPACK. For pre-made installers, check out the RyanVM Forums.
  13. @RJARRRPCGP, you are right that KB917008 is treated differently from most of the other hotfixes. However, it should remain in HF. Tomcat76 currently has HFSLIP integrate it with SVCPACK. You don't have to do anything special to it . Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure if Tomcat fixed the problems you were having with it. This SVCPACK integration was already implemented into HFSLIP_60810. I searched the Test releases forum as well as the HFSLP changelog, but didn't find any mention that Tomcat fixed any possible problems with it.
  14. I guess the first edit you mentioned to introduce a variable for HFANSWER.INI could be implemented, but I think it would cause more trouble than it would help.
  15. Plus, most people aren't at their computers waiting for HFSLIP to finish every time they run it! Thanks for the final, Tomcat76. Great job to everyone who helped! To do: IE7 P.S. @Tomcat76 - signature
  16. You know what? Something is weird when I run it with compression option D. In fact, even when I run HFSLIP with the new DBLBINXP.EXT file and execute dumpdupes.cmd again, I still end up with a list showing this: aec.sy_ kmixer.sy_ ntkrnlpa.ex_ ntkrpamp.ex_ splitter.sy_ wdmaud.sy_ And this is with the new DBLBINXP.EXT!! Oh, and I've always had the latest version.
  17. @Tomcat, thanks for the new DBLBINXP.EXT. I'm not sure whether you missed my post or not, but I saw six files on my list (see page 73).
  18. I just ran HFSLIP 61019a using compression option D, and then used dumpdupes.cmd. EXCLUDE.TXT has six files (attached).
  19. List updated for October changes. See log in the main post for details .
  20. Sorry about the delay in updating this. I just never had to a chance to get to it. Updated for October changes . See log in main post for details. Note: WGA Notifications will remain for the time being.
