  1. What exactly do you mean by saying the HFSLIP portion takes 25 minutes? Also, I do not recommend including ENU updates along with NOR updates. You have files in your HF folder, namely the following, that are unnecessary (there may be some more that I am not familiar with). msxmlsdk.exe spuninst.exe spupdsvc.exe msxml.msi msxml6_ia64.msi msxml6_SDK.msi msxml6_x64.msi What is fsdkreboot.exe for? @Tomcat, can you fix the incorrect detection of a Norwegian source?
  2. OK, I see. Since we use the wmfdist95.exe file from KB900325, am I to restore the MCE version of KB902344 to this list?
  3. I've removed KB902344 from the list (which I added on Sept. 18) as it is redundant.
  4. 60923exp2 doesn't work? I just made an ISO of it ! I'll wait. P.S. KB902344, as I mentioned in the other thread, doesn't work either.
  5. KB902344 doesn't seem to be supported properly by HFSLIP (tested with 60923exp2). I see a "0 file(s) copied" message for the hotfix, as shown below.
  6. @Camarade_Tux, slow down there, buddy!! The test releases already support this month's hotfixes . I've still to take a look at the experimental releases, but they look promising !
  7. A few questions about the experimental releases: Since you're telling all users to ditch HFSPLUG1.CMD, does that mean everything is incorporated in the experimental releases now (60923exp and later)? Also, at one point you said only so-and-so was supported. Has this been updated? Finally, what does "wip" stand for in the filename?
  8. Updated list to include KB918899-v3 (updated) and KB925308 (replaces KB920958).
  9. Thanks. Now it makes much more sense !
  10. I edited my post above a minute after you posted. Do you have a response? P.S. Your sig needs updating .
  11. I'm assuming this is a critical update. Am I right? Edit: Or wait, I just read the KB article for KB920958. Apparently KB925308 was created to resolve an issue with the update. So, will KB925308 be needed until a revised version of KB920958 is available? Edit #2: According to you [the_guy], it replaces KB920958 file-for-file. But it is listed under a different description. In addition, the KB article for KB920958 says KB925308 simply resolves an issue concerning KB920958. This isn't really making sense for me .
  12. FYI: KB891122 has been removed as it is actually redundant and is not supported by HFSLIP.
  13. According to the KB902344 article, KB891122 is a prerequisite. However, I just saw that it contains wmfdist95.exe and that file only (I was looking at the list of files in the KB891122 article without realizing that those were inside wmfdist95.exe). Thanks for the clarification .
  14. And another question: KB891122 contains a copy of wmfdist95.exe, a redundancy copied by wmcsetup.exe. What's the significance of this? And HFSLIP will automatically use the latest version, right?
  15. I've added the optional updates KB914440 (Network Diagnostic Tool), KB902344 (Update for DRM-enabled media players), and KB891122 (required for KB902344) to the list. They may be removed at a later time if deemed unnecessary for installation. You may ignore them if you wish.
  16. Thanks. This probably is true. However, the KB902344 update is an international update. Probably doesn't occur unless you have a DRM-enabled media player attached to your computer. Does anyone else have this? And are you planning to add it to your list? Also, for those interested: in order to install KB902344, you must also install KB891122.
  17. @ggg, put HMTCDWizard_ENU.exe, UPHClean-Setup.msi, and WindowsXP-Windows2000-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe in the HF folder. They have been supported for a long time. As the_guy said, I'm not sure on Webfldrs-KB892211-ENU.exe. You should wait for Tomcat to respond. Also, make sure you remove the other KB917344 (WindowsXP-KB917344-x86-enu.exe) from your HF folder (take care that you don't remove the wrong one - there's another hotfix that looks similar in name).
  18. Do you know if they'll be immediately supported by HFSLIP? Oh, and on a side note, do you know where I might be able to find a list of fixes for XP MCE?
  19. Cool, great! Thanks for testing it (not that you wouldn't have ).
  20. @the_guy, should I have the hotfixes KB914440 (Network Installation Tool) and KB902344 (Update for WMDRM-enabled media players) in my HF folder? They appear in the "Optional Updates" list for Windows XP SP2 on Windows Update.
  21. @heisking, if the DLL in KB905474 is newer than that in LegitCheckControl.cab, it causes a problem with WGAN (on XP SP2, of course). Tomalak, maybe you should just wait until MS releases a new KB905474 .
  22. I was hoping that this wouldn't happen for a while longer. Oh, and on a side note, the size of the DLL has increased dramatically!! I think your best bet would be to follow ONE of the following two steps: 1. Keep KB905474 in HF. Rename the updated LegitCheckControl.dll to LCC.dll. Compress it using the command MAKECAB /D CompressionMemory=21 /D CompressionType=LZX LCC.dll. Place the resulting file (LCC.dl_) in the FIX folder. 2. Keep KB905474 in HF. Rename the updated LegitCheckControl.dll to LCC.dll. Place it into HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT, remembering to place modifyPE.exe in HFTOOLS. Obviously, the last option seems easier. Either Tomcat or the_guy should have a better response regarding your best course of action.
  23. Tomcat appears to be very busy lately. However, you can expect to get a September final very soon. I am not sure whether the August final will support the latest 2000 hotfixes. I think your best bet is to confer with Tomcat or the_guy (very knowledgeable about the individual fixes).
