i think fine to use animated sig that small than 80kb (and size not bigger than 300x100) like what i have used, i once use the bigger animated sig but that sig removed by forum staff so then i go with this tiny sig

@dirtwarrior win2k lover's? if yes then same like me if you have a gigs of ram why didn't you disable the kernel paging? so they windows core will stay on memory rather than HDD, there were several registry hack and tweaksoft for this thing, and even nlite has em (on tweak section advance mode) anyway i have made a pack of win2k gui hack (xp icon, toolbar etc) but i don't have interest with that thing for now (busy with my college works, delphi and visual basic programming, making database related application) so if you want it i can give it to you and then you can continue my works

i'll be the 1st commenter it looks overal great, but... critics : 1. still it radial gradient thing lol, try to use vista grass wallpapaer (or the leaf) as a background will be better, blue radial gradient is winxp style not the current vista style (vista got glassy and calm black style) 2. try to make more space between icon they seem to crowded 3. misspelled Experence it must be Experience suggestion : 1. i didn't know thing about photoshop element but i think all photoshop version available now have a ruler/grid feature, that would usefull 2. try to leave your "office-hand" style and get your "artistic-hand" style, it's really hard but just keep practicing 3. try more and more experiment with photoshop (bevel/emboss, glass effect, shadow, light, adjustment layer, etc) 4. sometime if desain are to plain and simple it will make bored - quote from gfx desainer of FI, www.Fantasy-Interanctive.com 5. read more tut, book, pratice module and don't afraid to experiment 6. you could see my several artwork from my link in sig (in artwork folder), i have failed much but i didn't gave up, today i have become one of the gfx designer on my college (although i didn't concentrate in Multimedia but on E-Commerce) 7. get adobe photoshop (7/cs/cs2) if you got enough money or get it from your friend hehehe... i hope they all usefull, keep practicing and hope to see next creation of your's

simply, cause Windows check the taskman.exe (filesize or the bytes) and didn't recognize the hacked version so it ask to copy the "normal" taskman.exe and this would be called SFP (System File Protection)
-
for some short, what are sig do you want to have?
-
yes i plan to use vista icon too but the problem i didn't really know about icon line-up in vista (and i didn't have the shell32.dll things) for the present my pack consist of : - shell32.dll (xp icon), - ntoskrnl.exe (xp like boot logo), - msgina.dll (new logo for login box, xp like), - sysdm.cpl (monitor image in system properties) - explorer.exe (taskbar menu and some string in windows explorer) - browseui.dll (xp toolbar icon, missing some and dither in big icon) - display.cpl (monitor for wallpaper, screensaver, setting dialog) i will soon try to use XPIZE on win2k if it works then i will packing up my w2k hack pack
-
yes you can cab it, but for saffer i think you could use your OEM folder OEM\$\System32\ <- this is where hacked shell32.dll must place oh yeah i have a hacked version of browseui.dll (windows toolbar things) from winxp but it still incomplete (missing the back, forward, search and i get a purple things on big icon) and of course hacked version of ntoskrnl.exe (windows boot logo) that mimic xp boot logo (not exactly mimic) i plan to pack it into 1 project but i need some help editing the gfx (f*ck windows with 256color/8bit color with RLE compression, why they didn't make it 16bit )
-
sorry this is the file (hosted on rapidshare) http://rapidshare.de/files/18313089/SHELL32.rar.html hope you know how to download it

i think cause it used in sound you must try to boot to dos (restart in msdos) and edit the file (autoexec.bat) from there, it quite simple : C:\>cd Windows C:\>edit autoexec.bat save it then reboot
-
yes it can, if you understand how OEM folder use for... whoa i never realize it
-
he use adobe photoshop element
-
1. for shell i think there some feature can't be used in win2k (xp has totally new feature, noticed the new webview) but if you want to try don't forget to copy shell32.dll, comctl32.dll, comdlg32.dll (forgot it but it kind like that) 2. icon thing? shell icon? i have a hacked shell32.dll for win2k usp5.1 that contain all xp icon (from xp shell32.dll) 3. sound? do you ever use sound scheme? i didn't really care about sound scheme oh yeah check this post too : http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=70094&hl=
