just some curious here, i want to know where win2k save the task windows images and minimize/maximize/close button images (image bellow), is it hide in system file win2k? or in theme file (likely no)? if anyone know the file include this images, please let me know that thanks

ok what i mean is any other file i can hacked a bit?for now i have only "play" with the 3 files (explorer.exe,ntoskrnl.exe,shell32.dll) any other files that contai some ui? like userui.dll?

what tools used to find switch? i use a tool called PeID.exe along with USSF.exe i got from this forum, it "allmost" detect all switch, but allmost never enough isn't? i need some tools to detect switch that are use anyother installation file (.msi) and switchs from mssetup type installation and can find some complex switches like /?:? thanks all

no this is the current ntoskrnl.exe from win2k (not sure if it pure or sp4), but in implementation the bar can't seem like xp/w2k3 loading that only looked liked standar win2k loading bar, but perhaps that isn't big problem and from my own test my, i got white loading bar instead the original blue that made it cooler

just messing up things and i found way to work tested with XnView and Sfx module create with Winrar 3.51 1.use PeID to search the switch http://www.peid.tk 2.add the file (XnView-win-en.exe) into winrar (Right Click -> Add to Archive) 3.select option "Create Sfx archive" 4.select "Best" from "Compression Method" 5.click the advanced tab and select SFX options 6.on general tab take a look "Run After Extraction" and write it "XnView-win-en.exe /VERYSILENT" w/o qoutes 7.on modes tab, Silent mode select to "Hide all" and for Overwrite mode select to "Overwrite all files" 8.(optional)on Text and Icon tab you can use installer icon 9.click OK twice and wait till it finish 10.you got it the question is can i use this with HFSLIP or nLite?

i heard from some peoples, there are a way to make silent and switchless installer with Winrar Sfx and i tried to made some with it. and i have success with the archive but it didn't install in silent mode and maybe need switch to put in it so for people know the "real" way to make and switchless and silent Sfx module please tell me the correct steps for make it thx all

this is what exactly windows 2000 boot look liked (based on win 2003 server), btw anyone know how this new logo (placed in hacked NTOSKRNL.EXE of course) can be placed in new installment of win 2k? or atleast in next USP pack? also 256bit color for direct hack into NTOSKRNL.EXE PS : attached hacked ntoskrnl later, imageshack convert .bmp into .png automatically

i use a virgin win 2k cd and i want to make slipstreamed usp5.1 cd now just go with nlite hope it works (gee i need to go to my friend house cause i don't have cd-rw drive )

ok lets see how about "taskbar & start menu properties"? have you check it? there a customization in "Start Menu" tab and click "advance" (or customize?!) button that allow you to show Shutdown and Logoff button in Start Menu, or just try to hit "WinKey+U" or "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and select "Shutdown" PS: WinKey is the button middle Ctrl and Alt just try it and let me hear the good news

a newbie need some explanation (again?!) 1. i have win2k system with usp5.1 installed and i'm very happy with that thing 2. a few days ago my pc going wierd (didn't want to boot) and i repair with my win2k cd 3. i think the problem solved but, my pc keep restarting when i play some games or application 4. i right-clicked "my computer" and OMG there is the problem, the windows read system as only pure win2k without any sp pack installed 5. i go to control panel and tried to uninstall some program i added after usp5.1 installed was before installing (again) usp5.1 like .NetFramework 2.0 and voila windows refuses to uninstall it (this thing likely the most common problems) 6. i think i better format my HDD and installing my os again so i really need some explain about slipstreaming usp 5.1 to a virgin win2k cd and make it bootable or atleast i can make win2k integrated usp5 cd incase i need it for recovery purpose (if this thing happen again) NB: 1. i need better recomendation of steps i should take, i've search over google and found 2 method the cmd and NLite method, which one better for newbie? and which one is safer method? 2. i have recent NLite version and .NetFramework 2.0 thx for all helps

oh yeah just forgot some BIG question here : 4. is this sp pack will same as sp4 in compability (or maybe higher)? i need some software that must installed atleast on sp3 i very worried if that software can't installed on this sp pack because this pack doesn't read as sp4 or better (this is why i get around net and searching for best sp pack out there)

hello all win2k user, i'm one of the win2k user that trying to find a best and suitable service pack for my win2k, and while i surf on softpedia i looked the best rated for this software (even better than sp4 by M$ self) and just some quick question for the maker of this unofficial service pack 5 1. the size of file is over 200mb (almost twice bigger than official sp4), the problem is if there any new version of this sp pack i have download a whole pack just to get updates, is there any other system like update for sp or roll-up version (just like M$ did) so i don't have to download a whole bunch of over 200mb (i have slow connection here, only 128kbps) 2. basic edition and extreme edition, what should i wait for? and what the different between basic and extreme? is there any patch or update for basic so it can update to extreme edition version? 3. is there any choice of what we can install in the software installation? cause some of user might think some of the file/system don't need to update (for example : i just use my pc for surf and college work so i dont need any improvement for ISS and web server related apps) thanks for creating this amazing pack i hope this pack clean as softpedia suggest it PS : sorry for my bad english
