I will be using Windows 98SE for next two years as my sole operating system. I play games, do all kinds of stuff with it. I live in a third world country, where this operating system is more affordable. And really programs like service packs made solely by selfless people are gemstones. It takes a long time to download updates from microsoft windows and if system requires a complete format and reinstallation that whole process has to be repeated. You people are very busy i understand, but how about telling us about percentage of completion from time to time. Even if it is 1% every week.

I used Firefox 1.5, but there was no offline browsing availbale . So i had to use offline features of I.E's based Avant. Will offline browsing be available in Firefox 2.0?

Gape has made possible servicing of OS with few clicks of button. Its even more user friendly than service packs for Windows XP. Hope to see a new service pack. Gape rocks. Good luck for your thesis.

Actually i have been installing and uninstalling few customizing programs probably they caused these problems. I am thinking of formatting and then reinstalling. Anybody can tell me about making an image of whole partition. Someone told me its better than windows Backup.

My sound card is ALS4000. It is the most fastest sound card with the vxd drivers. WDM drivers do remove the lines in autoexec.exe but they are very slow and make every game choopy. Is there anyone who can solve the problem.

There is no Customize option. I am using Windows 98SE. It does not has any customizing option on its toolbar.

Operating System: Windows98SE Is there any way to decrease the size of toolbar present below the file, edit, view etc. I can judge that if it is reduced at one place it will be reduced everywhere e.g., Internet Explorer, Outlook Express etc.

Review of "XP EXTREME FOR 98SE". The Theme is O.K. But it slows down the whole computer. It applies a strange very bright colour scheme to User Interface looks exactly like Windows 2000 but So bright that it made my eyes water. In short it looks ugly. I read somewhere that Windows 2000 colour scheme and Windows Xp icons make a good combination. Startup Logo is good. Explorer does noting special. Icons are o.k. However all these can be achieved with Revolution Pack 4.0 which i used not lite but the last full revolution pack. It looks awesome, but kernel xp causes problems.

I am about to install this program does it has issues which are not listed. Its original thread has nothing to offer. Revolution Pack 4.0 does not work on my system unless i install it completely. And when i install it the whole computer slows down, every application runs slowly even the games produce extremely low fps. Probably this is to do with the kernelxp, just a guess.

I was trying to hack few resources in this file and the program used for hacking made a backup copy of it in the same directory. I removed the backup copy and the extra icon was gone. Thanks for other tip regarding single dll file. Actually i am applying hacks discovered and written in www.virtualplastic.net
