Yes, I'm seeing the same thing on my installation of Google Chrome 49. I'll message the author and see what he says. It appears as if the necessary file is missing, but it could still be a compatibility issue I suppose.

Assuming that there is a version for Chrome, which I'm pretty sure there is, I don't see why not. Edit: It's here.

That would of course involve admitting that XP still exists, and that would never do!

Just as a heads up, the saintly individual behind Facebook Purity has now produced an extension which will revert Facebook to the old design. https://revertsite.com/ It works a treat, on my old and new versions of Firefox anyway! It tells Facebook that it's an old browser which doesn't support the new layout, which is probably pretty much the same as using the Mac/Safari user agent string did. Of course it will only work while the code for the old layout is still actually available to use, which won't be forever, but it should buy a bit more time.

Just to say that the Facebook videos are now playing automatically with the Safari user agent string! Why they weren't before I have no idea, perhaps some cookies needed to be updated or something. Really glad that it's all working fine now, and even the menu option to switch to the new layout has vanished! This will only be a temporary reprieve I'm sure, but great to have put off the evil hour for a while longer.

No Primetime plugin then, so I guess that's the difference between your setup and mine. Your Flash plugin is rather out of date BTW, the current one is 32.0.0.433.

Do those browsers use the Primetime plugin? If not, and they have other HTML5 video support, that might be the issue.

I love Facebook Purity, I've been using it for years, and I wouldn't dream of using Facebook without it! Whenever I use the Facebook app on my phone I'm reminded just how awful Facebook on my desktop would be without it!

Yes, the option to see the source is still there. One thing with using that Safari user agent string is that videos now no longer seem to play automatically, I have to click on a "play" arrow symbol to make them play, as i do on Instagram. Is that what you would expect @docR? Slightly annoying, but better than them not playing at all! This is still on the old layout BTW, I haven't been switched again yet.

Ah, so the date displayed in the updater is simply the date of the file on the server, not necessarily the date of its contents. I still reckon it's been a very long time since they were all displayed with the same date, so I guess for some reason they've all been replaced on the server at the same time, or at least on the same day!

I don't actually mind the new design too much, I've seen far worse, but I do want the videos to work!

Four updates today. KB4484530 (Office) KB4484532 (Office) KB4486660 (Word) KB4486665 (Excel) KB4484530 contains another XP incompatible version of MSO.DLL. All downloaded from the Update Catalogue and installed manually. I guess next month's updates, if any, will be the last!

I've just been bumped to the new layout again, and now I'm being told I can only switch back to the old layout for another 48 hours! Am I really the only person having this problem?

So why is the updater showing all the files with the same file date? It doesn't normally do that.

As far as Office 2010 is concerned, I think it would be better to wait until a couple of months' time when support has ended and there will be no more updates. Then the package will not get out of date.

Microsoft Update and Windows Update no longer work on XP or Vista. It is the SHA-2 problem. I can still connect to the MS Update website, but it immediately fails when scanning starts.

Just been bumped to the new Facebook layout again, and still no videos working. I have tried using different user agent strings, but no difference on any I've tried so far. If I switch back to the old layout, the videos immediately work again! This will not be possible for much longer though, as the new layout will become mandatory this month. Anyone any ideas?

That's good to see, but don't depend on it staying like that! There's evidence that Yahoo and others are gradually updating the requirements on their servers, and all the servers will I'm sure start rejecting TLS v1 logins eventually. I'm using yahoo.co.uk servers which already reject TLS v1 logins.

And yet I'm sure there are people with fully POSReady patched SP3 machines who report that the July 2020 cab works fine! This is really strange.
