  1. That's interesting, I wonder why my components package appears to be older than yours? I would have thought that's something which should have automatically updated. I will re-download the offline installer and see if the present version is different to the one I have now. If it is, I will reinstall it.
  2. This is what I have at the time of writing. AFAIK, Malwarebytes have always said that this version will be supported and provided with pattern updates until further notice, and there's been no sign of them moving to change that. There have been a few scares where the definition updates stopped coming in, with a red triangle on the system tray icon, but it was always resolved once people posted on the Malwarebytes forum about it. It was always caused by backend problems, but as you can imagine it did worry people!
  3. To be fair the 'necropost' was only reported today, when it was already three months old!
  4. @emila67 You are aware the previous post to yours was 18 years ago?!
  5. I've been using Malwarebytes Premium on XP for several years now. It's not free, but it just works. Strange how people have very different experiences with these programs on their systems. I never had any problem installing MB Premium on either of my XP systems, but my main desktop absolutely refused to work with Avast or AVG! They would install fine, but the main service refused to start, and I never found out why this was. I too spent ages on their forums and with their technical support, and apart for the vague 'some people do have this problem on XP' no answer was ever found.
  6. It would help if we knew exactly what game you're actually referring to!
  7. Rule 1b clearly states - "Respect the requests of companies who do not permit redistribution of their products without express permission - including unmodified hotfix/feature pack packages. Download sources for official software should be from the vendor directly where possible. Posts made containing this type of content may be removed immediately without warning, and offenders may be banned on first violation." As you clearly don't care about the rules here, I would remind you that you could be banned for this. Consider this a public warning. Further infringements will not be tolerated.
  8. The 'Escape' map doesn't work for me on 360Chrome 13.5 but the other examples do. The WebGL test passes.
  9. Off-topic posts removed. This thread will be immediately terminated if it degenerates into an off-topic personal bickering fest again.
  10. You have your own thread about this in the Windows 2000 section, where it should be. You can tag any contributor to this thread in that thread. The same will happen with Windows 2003 should the contributors here deem it to be necessary.
  11. @WinWord2000 Off-topic posts moved here. You have already been warned once about posting off-topic Windows 2000 related posts in this XP/2003 specific thread. There is a thread for this issue on Windows 2000, please use it in future.
  12. Ah thanks, so the 'OS fakes' modification prevents that happening I assume. I guess it's not relevant to my Lenovo Flex 10. Cheers, Dave.
  13. @Dietmar Still not sure what the 'OS fakes' bit is about, but that version works fine on my Flex 10.
  14. Thanks! Pardon my ignorance, but what is the significance of 'OS fakes'?
  15. OK, understood. So, as things stand, which is the very latest x32 version of acpi.sys? Just want to make sure that I have it. There's been so many versions now that I've got confused! A link to download it would be very useful, so I can make sure. Thanks, Dave.
  16. Moderators don't know anything about the contents of PMs, they are private, by definition.
  17. @AstroSkipper Rule 7.b "This community is built upon mutual respect. You are not allowed to flame other members." Consider yourself informally warned.
  18. Thanks, I think that's a good convention to maintain if it's possible to do so.
  19. Thanks @George Kingand @Dietmar. I'll hold on then until a new x86 version is published. As an aside, it would be good if the revision version could be appended to the file version. E.g. the version that was issued as 5.1.2600.7777.7 where the last '7' indicated the revision number, which is very useful to keep track of the versions. Cheers, Dave.
  20. @Dietmar@Mov AX, 0xDEAD@George King As this discussion seems to have been all about x64 versions of acpi.sys in recent weeks, could I just ask what is the very latest version of the modified x86 version of acpi.sys? I just want to make sure that I am using the latest (final?) x86 version on my netbook. Thanks, Dave.
  21. As far as I'm concerned, you can discuss whatever you like as long as it's reasonably relevant to the topic concerned, unless and until anyone complains about the thread moving too far off-topic. As it's your thread, that's up to you!
  22. Talking about BSODs possibly being caused specifically by the 360Chrome browser is perfectly valid here, as I said. What is off-topic is extensive general conversation about BSODs and their causes, unless it directly relates to the browser.
  23. It was the general conversation which was developing about BSODs and their causes which was off-topic (and yes, I did contribute to it, but it was in danger of going on for too long.) Anything directly relating to the browser that this thread is about is fine.
