  1. Power supply maybe? Could be the problem.
  2. Try formatting your computer. I installed new hardware and caused my computer to lag. Once I did a full format and reinstalled Windows everything worked perfectly.
  3. I use BitDefender. Its fast, and its updated frequently. Sorry, I don't like AVG, it increased my bootup time and sometimes explorer.exe at startup won't load either. NAV is horrible, slow and a resource hog.
  4. You know when you sign in with MSN Messenger and it notifies the user with a new email confirmation. I set my default browser to Firefox and when I click on the email shortcut it opens with Internet Explorer instead. Is there a way to make it open with Firefox? Same with the MSN Spaces and profiles, it opens with Internet Explorer instead. I prefer using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. Thanks for reading, help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Here is mine: http://www.geocities.com/johnvuong2000/augustwallpaper.JPG
  6. Voted for the second option. I manage my own computer and I don't see a point of adding a "guest" or "limited user" account on my computer. I even let my brother and sister use my account and its too much hassle just to type in your own account password at the startup.
  7. Interface looks nice, but I wish Microsoft made it easier to use. I found it difficult to use.
  8. I prefer leaving the backup image on my other hard drive, much faster. I prefer not to burn it into a DVD disk, because I tend to update the image sometimes, and its much quicker when you reimage it from a drive than a CD. Eliminates the 10 minute wait (On Acronis True Image) I don't like Norton Ghost 9.0, can't say about the previous versions. It is so slow and unreliable, one time I reimaged using Norton Ghost 9.0, and the partition wouldn't even boot. Bloody POS software.
  9. Did you try updating your video card drivers? See if that works. If not, then sorry I'm out of ideas.
  10. Did you try to reinstall the game? See if that works.
  11. Looks like a faulty motherboard. I'll bring it to a computer store and get it checked.
  12. NVidia firewall came with my motherboard drivers. Installed it, gave me problems. Whats worse I couldn't uninstall it so I had to format my computer to get rid of it (I need to format my hard drive anyway) Try out different firewalls. I'm currently using Windows Firewall and gave me no problems.
  13. I use BitDefender. Doesn't take up too many system resources and its updated frequently. Norton sucks. Takes up way too many system resources and its slow.
  14. No, Vista worked fine but I think its ridicilious that you need a high amount of RAM and hard drive space to run Vista.
  15. No offense why did Microsoft design an operating system that uses massive and high end hardware? What the hell is Microsoft thinking? Guess they want more money, its all about money for all businesses. I personally won't be using Vista too soon. I'll stick with XP, it works fine, thanks.
  16. It would be wise if you use Windows 2000 if you have an older computer. If you have a faster one use XP. 98/ME is old and outdated, and Microsoft doesn't even support it anymore.
  17. Thanks for that. Guess I'll try to figure out what to remove.
  18. Hi, I'm interested in Nliting my Windows XP installation. Forgive me if this has been asked already, (Too many topics) but does Nlite automatically lite your Windows ISO with its default settings? I know you can remove some components, but if I leave it to its default settings will it make any difference? Thanks.
  19. That happened with my computer once. I had to get rid of Windows 95 (I was dual booting Windows 95 and XP, format your whole hard drive) and everything worked. Or you can download the Windows XP bootup disks and boot it from the floppy, that worked for me as well.
  20. If you want a good AM2 board, get Gigabyte GA-M55Plus -S3G. Runs like a charm. You get 4 DDR2 RAM slots, supports up to 16GB and 4 PCI 32 bit slots, unlike the other boards. And its not too expensive as well. I don't like ASUS boards. Had one, believe me, it was crap like s***.
  21. I use to like Norton products, not anymore. They are slow, uses up way too many system resouces and its unreliable. Stay away from Norton.
  22. Yeah, I've been to that website, it doesn't show all the updates though. When I finished downloading those updates from that WindizUpdate, I went back to the Windows Update and it came up with more updates.
  23. I'm having problems accessing the Windows Update website. Everytime I would go into the website, the IE window would always freeze. I've exited it several times, restarted my computer and it produces the same result. I even tried using IE tab for Firefox to access the website and no avail. Can anybody please help me? Thanks.
  24. Thanks for the help guys, I managed to connect to the internet again. Thanks again. Oh, my modem is a Motorola SB5100. I don't think it has a router in it. I managed to network my computer with it, funny why it didn't work the first time.
  25. I have a cable internet connection. I don't have a router, the internet works fine on my other computer, except this one. Modem>Computer Yes I installed the LAN drivers and it still didn't work. Its really weird, and its really annoying me that I can't get any network connection. I also have another PCI Networking card and that doesn't work with the internet as well. I tried creating a network between two computers and it didn't work.
