Get Your Windows Vista Beta 2 Public Release Key Early
Thunderbolt 2864 replied to bartyl's topic in Windows Vista
The server is experiencing a high level of demands, so you're going to have to wait... for God knows how long. -
Haha, that was really funny, a tombstone which is a PC tower, running Windows I assume.
-
Before you formatted your computer, did you get any BSOD yet? You probably have some hardware that is playing up. I'll check that first.
-
That would be the "Don't Install It" or "Remove It" option. If I don't install it I won't be able to receive future updates. There isn't a remove option for this stupid WGA crap. Looked for one, not available.
-
I agree, Microsoft should at least give an option to disable these annoying nagware for users with legit copies of Windows. I have a legit copy, I started a topic not long ago about this WGA s*** they implemented. I installed the first one, everything went well. I installed the second version, and it said my Windows was not legit, though this was temporary and never appeared again. Geez, Microsoft can't get anything right these days. I don't see a point of updating this WGA "critical update" so frequently. If they expect us to download this "update", at least make it perfect, not leave errors and bugs in it, geez.

Games Incompatible with Server 2003
Thunderbolt 2864 replied to Scubar's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Well, Quake 1, the Windows 95 Edition doesn't work on my computer, and works on my old one, which is weird. Mortal Kombat Trilogy doesn't work either. It gets into the program, when it loads the main menu, it displays an error box and exits the program. Half Life Counterstrike 1.6 doesn't work either. When I click on it, nothing happens. The next time I log in, it displayed some message saying their was some unknown error with those applications I executed and asked me to send an error report to Microsoft. -
[Question] Microsoft's latest XP WGA
Thunderbolt 2864 replied to Thunderbolt 2864's topic in Windows XP
I just don't see why Microsoft has to update this WGA. If one works fine, then keep it that way, not to provoke customers with legit copies with annoying nagware. And even people who has a pirated copy of XP, pirates are going to find a way to remove the messages anyway. I'm pretty sure Microsoft has figured that out before they released this so called critical "update". All they are doing is just wasting their time with an annoying "update" which probably isn't going to help anyone. -
[Question] New Microsof KB905474 - WGA
Thunderbolt 2864 replied to codenamexxi's topic in Windows XP
Why would you want to install this piece of s*** WGA for anyway? No offense, just curious. Waste of time, waste of space and waste of effort. I heard it gives people problems even with a legit copy of XP. -
[Question] Microsoft's latest XP WGA
Thunderbolt 2864 replied to Thunderbolt 2864's topic in Windows XP
Nah, nothing else, except for that one time "Windows not valid" s***. I suggest you contact Microsoft, they might help you. -
Huh? You can run 2003 with 2007? 2007 didn't even prompt me to keep 2003, it just uninstalled it and copied over 2003.
-
Yeah, I downloaded it yesterday. Layout looks good, though very complicated and a complex design. Did anybody have trouble activating it? It wouldn't even connect to the server, though I allowed my firewall to let it go through. And the second time I tried activating it the whole program froze and the task wouldn't even end when I managed to close it. Since this is still in BETA mode, I'll expect to run into a few bugs.
-
I use Server 2003 for listening to music and as a backup workstation. I'm pretty sure that WMP11 will support 2003 and x64 soon.

Thanks for you help guys. I decide to reimage my computer with a clean copy of XP. Guess that fixed the problem. Still, I wonder what caused the problem. At Zxian: Thanks for the extraction code.
-
Thanks. How do you copy a new ipconfig from the Windows XP CD? All I see is a file called IPCONFIG.EX_ and how do you convert it into an EXE file?
-
I also have programs that can't end. Tried both programs, didn't work. The task won't even end at all, just frozen there.
-
No. Server 2003 is just fine. I might get Vista though.
-
Installed it, didn't like it. I had to reimage my machine because the uninstall option wasn't even available, didn't even appear in the Add/Remove programs section. Didn't like it because they got rid of the full track duration at the side of the right hand corner, which was stupid. And when viewed in full screen mode, how WMP 10 had the minimize, maximize and close button, they got rid of that too. Very disappointed with that. I expect to see these features back in future builds, hopefully.

Hi, I have a problem with ipconfig. I type in in CMD and it doesn't work. Doesn't come up with anything or any message, just sits there and does nothing. And I can't even disable my network connections as well. I also use Windows Server 2003 and this problem isn't present, only on XP, which is weird. Please help me out here, thanks. [Question] Microsoft's latest XP WGA
Thunderbolt 2864 replied to Thunderbolt 2864's topic in Windows XP
Glad I'm not the only one. At least it popped up once and went away. Stupid Microsoft can't get anything right these days. -
Hey all, First of all I have a legal copy of XP with a legit CD key. I've downloaded the previous versions of the WGA and I did not encounter any of the notifications. Just today I downloaded the latest version of WGA and I rebooted my computer. When I finally booted into XP there was a notification saying my copy of XP was not legit and the banner was fixed on my desktop, for like 2 seconds and it disappeared when I got into XP. I ran the windows genuine checker and it said my serial key was valid. I rebooted my computer again to see if the notification window was going to popup again at startup but to my suprise it didn't. Did anybody experience this when you downloaded the latest WGA? Title edited -- Please, use [TAGS] in your topic's title. --Sonic
