hey i've a suggestion norton antivirus 2004 or systemworks 2004 had a similar thing 1 way to get rid of that error is to edit the msi in msi editor program and just get rid of the line causeing it. I'll dl the demo and post my results. it should be fairly easy, should be on setup parameters to launch.... (this was the case on IntelliPoint software too...) hoping it has a trial..

i'd go to regedit and manually delete those..

i think u can get computer names and make some if statements for it. so when it founds that u're at home it'll open E drive when u're at your uni it'll open X drive. i'm sure u sit at different computers at uni so make if at home open e drive else open x... so this way u won't have to deal with closing the window, only opening..

@wasim that may be the case but he's saying his friends did it in some way. I doubt that they stole the admin password.. (they could with nice small mosty linux apps or windows apps) if u really want to go there just to login to messenger...

that's really dumb of MS ?? why the heck did they do such a thing? security?? wierd.. I had problems with sp1 firewire so I end up using usb 2 (hopefully my external hdd and dvdwriter has multi interface..) if I was compressing a video (read/write to same hdd) and then try to do another job (say open a program from that hdd) windows would claim that it couldn't write and failed to write or something similar to that, and since i'm not patient enough to be doing 1 job at a time i went back to usb 2...

hi there 1st which tells us that it can be integrated into the cd (which I just tested and, it works.) it creates the svcpack folder and puts these in there and here's what the svcpack.inf looks like so after this stage of integrating the modified tcpip.sys could be replaced easily.. or better yet I could be dreaming...ok this post was useless.. just realized that this was for integrating the sys in the cd so yes inf's way to go

i'm afraid I couldn't find it u could look for the hardware id that way it'll be easier.. go to system properties, go to hardware tab device manager find your camera or whatever its displayed as right now. right click on it, choose properties then go to details tab and choose hardware id then click on the first one and copy it (ctrl + c) then paste it here i'll be able to find it then I assume...

hey since they've enabled some filenames try renaming 1 of the exe's? maybe that'll work?? like change it to winword.exe?

I like style but speed is more important then style so i'm off with luna bc my comp is crawling don't even have a wallpaper bc it takes up from ram & cpu & hdd res 1600*1200, bitmap is 5mb.

yes it should work, that could have only been a careless mistake, I knew u had it in the right dir since it lauches but this one gets me too . could it be bc of something in the post.bat? maybe an applications install doesn't properly end or something? maybe some of the time u're hdd works faster or xp takes less ram or I dunno. post your post.bat? maybe its in there? I mean does your install work unless u have the bat files? it does right? now only thing it could be is the bat I think??? totally guessing though. never experienced such a nasty bug

well 2-3 days ago but at different interval i mean at 1 hour it works few hours later it wont. well those sites are working right now.
