Hi there does anyone currently own a shuttle pc? if so how are the temperatures compared to normal atx towers? does it have any disadvantages? is it worth giving $400+ to a mobo and box? can most current graphics cards fit in it? here is a link to latest shuttle with intel 915g chipset Thanks

I think valve likes hackers and crackers so they might have released the pre-release so ppl can start hacking the game before hand though I've started this thread I found it completely stupid to dl the game on my current internet connection. and I don't even know what's going to happen after I preload the game and then buy it. will they ship me the cd's? if not how am I supposed the install the game after a format? even so if they're going to send me a cd I am pretty okay to wait for another 1-2weeks since I've been waiting since sept 2003

so u say doom has an option to disable pixel shaders? where is that option? did u code the doom engine? okay anyways forget about all this are u working for codemasters? why on the earth are u protecting them? I believe this is a stupid glitch that they have, they've no reason whatso ever to not give support to mx cards even though mx might be not a good card it supports gf3 which is not a better card! what do u have to say about this? the sound chipset also use pixel shaders? all games work on all types of sound cards why not the integrated cards which in these days appear in every new mb don't work with cmr5? any sane answer?

then I guess u could buy me one? the reason why there is mx is so that ppl can afford a similar quality with the gf4 chipset. and up until now all the games I have played worked on this card. what's the crap about doom3 having dev time? look at old games all of them had long dev time? I don't think so.

Hi there I just realized that codemasters released a demo (officially on 24.08.04) on the upcoming new version of colin mcrae rally 2005. I went to international trade fair for information technology telecommunications software & services and some guy was playing it I freaked out the graphics are much better than what it was in 2004 and the game play is better!/ ow in the fair they played underground and doom 3 multiplayer on projected screens. it was CRAZY! anyways here is the dl link for the demo. BE ADVISED 284MB http://195.92.253.100/cmasters/demo/cmr200...o-installer.exe ow the demo requires dx9c, so install it if u want to play frigging update: this stupid **** id*** codemasters somehow managed this incredible thing of not giving any support to **** nvidia mx and go cards. and bc of this stupidity I cannot play this lovely game at home. some guy said mx card don't have pixel shader support but I don't understand the idea behind this pixel shader. I'm sure doom 3 uses some sort of pixel shader right? I play doom3 without any lag of any sort. crap.!! gotta kill the stupid coder who enabled that

I use opera my main reason: I open more than 1 window and being able to open links in the background saves a lot of time and I don't have to click that many buttons to get the other screen in front of me. b4 I found about opera I had assigned "minimize" to 1 of my mouse's buttons, that way when I opened a link to read later, and wanted to continue reading the main window I wouldn't have to go click minimize. this may seem stupid but after having to do this for billions of times I got sick of it. and I also view pictures and I dunno how many of u look at pics on the web but launching them 1 by 1 kills me. I open few of them at the same time on the background and just cycle through the already loaded pages. and it doesn't keep my taskbar full of ie windows 2nd reason. even if opera crashes it saves the pages that u had opened so next time u open opera it asks u whether u want to resume from last time or not. also u can do this on purpose (not crash) it has ability to save session for later use. as said it has nice email interface though I love outlook cacheing of images, the ability to "don't show images", "show only from cache" are also the functions that I use very often. and 1 other thing. when I post something on the forum and when I'm dying to get an answer I just right click on the page and set the timer for it to refresh, for example refresh every 1 min. so I don't have to do it manually.. bookmarking is also nicely done, it has built in skin support ow and since it keeps a "transfer window" u easily track what u're dling, dled, or sometimes when I dl something it stops bc the server is dead or something and in IE it'd show this as "download complete" but in opera it just shows that there is an error. the fact that the sites that I frequently visit are ie based just kills me. so I have to use ie for some things. ow and since my IE has gone wierd (when I click on exe's and zip's it just dled it to temp and doesn't ask me where to save it or it doesn't even show u the progress bar) --> will be gone after a format which I couldn't do as of yet ( (waiting for my frigging 2.5" hitachi 7200rpm hdd) (don't want to format twice in 2 weeks (though I've done it b4 many times ) erm time to stop. opera ROCKS! ow b4 I forget 2 more things 1. when u surf on the same window, the ability of going back on opera is just awesome. it caches it so that u can go back to anything in a sec. where in ie it'd have to reload the page over again when u go back 2. (this usually happens on the forums and emails) when u say open a new topic and start typing b4 the page fully loads and u don't want ie to continue loading the pictures on the site u'd press ESC to stop it from loading right? (at least what I do) now ie, when u press esc erases all your nice efforts when u type opera doesn't do this.. I've tried other browsers (I don't like netscape and any interface that looks like it) and after useing them for a while I just kept opera also I think only thing that opera lack is a little bit more support on scripting and I believe much of those problems will be solved when they try to be compatible with gmail yiey!

gmail doesn't support opera but I just loved the conversation ability. the inline messages, quote stuff omg!!! really superb

what happens if 1 gets lots of invitations? does google have a counter or a way of promoting the user who sends out lots of invitations and acceptance? that'd be even more fun

the timeout problem might be bc of several things 1st the server u're trying to connect might have slowed down. or its on a slow connection. 2nd thing have u ever altered your connection settings like mtu? I doubt so but still. (if u never changed them u should be okay. or u can change them) there is a small program for it called tcp something? I don't remember. for the dl manager I use flashget. I've been using it since .5 I think. I love everthing about it. I've used others but I love flashget. it allows u to connect from 10 ports at max which quite often speeds up the dl. the other dl manager I used for a while is mass downloader from metaproducts. it can connect up to 100 ports (they are not really ports I forgot the exact name for it) anyways but I've always had minor problems with it. but it's really fast if u have the hdd speed and internet speed for it.

this invitation thing is totally stupid, but fun a nice way for google to track things..

1st its probably 768kbit which means 96kb/s max I don't understand what u mean by making a new connection?? if u have dsl u don't need to make a new connection??? and why not use a better dl manager?

yes its very normal for it to be working so slow. don't worry its a lot faster on real machine. did u try to setup over again? I had a similar problem with it getting stuck at the same screen. I rebooted and tried it worked perfectly. also I wonder why those switches did not work for u...

its just an enclosure so think of it as a cable which connects your cdrom-dvdrom-dvdwriter etc to your computer so it will write dvd cd whatever u put it in. though I strongly suggest the lite on external drive... otherwise $60 for the enclosure min $90 for the dvd writer. thats $150 and the lite on is max $126. but 1 advantage of the enclosure, u can put other things in it. u can put hdd u can put cd rom, anything that works with ide cable.... ow of u care about the looks go with lite on. also there are many other enclosures. I bought mine from caloptic (then realized they were the most expensive enclosure, though when I bought it, there were not so many enclosures that supported usb2/firewire..)

how much money do u want to spend electronic arts have rental servers at high rates but they might be only for ea games. I dunno... we have battlefield clan we had rented ea server but they charge u per user so we could only afford 20ppl on the server. so its all about the money, its all about the dum dum dum.. a crap no 16x is for pci express they pretend that its like agp 16x bc of bandwidth okay!
