  1. I use uBlock Origin & NoScript. I ditched HTTPs Everywhere and use NoScript for that as well. Pretty safe and private browsing. Configured Pale Moon with the tor settings for extra security. I use the autoproxy plugin too because I use Tor and I2P. Don't need a virus scanner and haven't used one in years.
  2. I can confirm heinoganda KB4134651-v2 fixes the Windows Live Mail bug I was experiencing. Thank you soooooo much!!!! When I replaced the file, I was presented with these updates. I installed them and replaced only oleaut32.dll from heinoganda KB4134651-v2. All is fine and thank you guys very much. 2018-07 Security Update for WES09 and POSReady 2009 for x86-based Systems (KB4134651) 2018-05 Security Update for WES09 and POSReady 2009 for x86-based Systems (KB4134651) 2018-02 Security Update for Windows XP Embedded SP3 for x86-based Systems (KB4074852) Security Update for WES09 and POSReady 2009 (KB3196718) Security Update for POSReady 2009 and WES09 (KB3184122) Security Update for WEPOS and POSReady 2009 (KB3139940) Security Update for WES09 and POSReady 2009 (KB4018556)
  3. Just did a clean install with SP4 slipstreamed. Install Windows Live Mail and it was working. No errors. After updating 80 posready updates it broke. Now I have to find which update broke WLM. I'm leaning towards .NET updates.
  4. After un-installing and re-installing, I get this error message as well
  5. Thanks, I have tried the solutions and didn't work for me. The exact error message is I am using SP4 if that makes any difference.
  6. Are these updates obsolete? WINDOWSXP-KB4019276-X86-EMBEDDED-ENU_3822FC1692076429A7DC051B00213D5E1240CE3D.EXE WINDOWSXP-KB4025398-X86-EMBEDDED-ENU_B411279FB7DCDE2856026476B626F2F12B518A9D.EXE WINDOWSXP-KB4039111-X86-EMBEDDED-ENU_9B517BB7A6B7459D5C4C7159E4B8F247CF094FEB.EXE
  7. I've installed the update and Windows Live Mail still gives me the error. Thanks, at least the Find target is fixed.
  8. Can you send it to me please? Thanks
  9. I'm using WinXP SP4 /w POS updates. I switched from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail but can't get pass the error
  10. This might be helpful https://blog.dhampir.no/content/installing-windows-live-essentials-on-windows-xp-error-oncatalogresult-0x80190194
  11. I'm using Tor and I2P side-by-side and they both get the job done. I use Pale Moon with (Tor) instead of the (TOR Browser) and so far no issues. Interesting combination.
  12. I'm not sure whats going on, but I did a clean install the other day using SP4 3.1b. I only got about 6 updates. On my older installation with SP4 3.1a, I got a ton of them including Office 2003 updates. What is going on and am I missing something?
  13. I'm tempted to download to see if any goodies in there. I need some motivation. Its 10 Gigs. Whooo !!!!!!! https://archive.org/details/WULOS
  14. I use 98lite with SP3 and have no issues. Using Win95 shell etc... will break most of the software. I added it a while back but removed it because of breakage. You will get lots of errors.
  15. If you plan to run Win 98/SE as long as possible, I suggest you double up on the hardware. I did this with my Dell C610. I have 2 of the exact same computers. When one fails due to hardware, I have a backup and just swap drives. I have not got Windows 9x running in VMs like I want to. Once I move all of my laptops to 64bit I will focus more on tweaking it. Development for Win9x is far behind, we have a few people who's helping, but when they have left the scene we'll be sol.
  16. I never had a problem with RegClean either, the reason I added it to the SP years ago. Its very lightweight and robust.
  17. Man... You have stirred up some controversy with this reference. Thank you, ol' great one!!!!! I will be debating this over the holidays. Happy Holidays to everyone. P.S We are already fighting. Thanks a lot. LOL
  18. When 64bit becomes the norm, Windows 9x will have to use Virtual Box/Machines or stock up on older hardware. I totally agree with your post. Some things we'll never get to experience using Win9x. When newer browsers requires a dual core system minimum, we have already lost the fight before the war have begun. Running new software on older hardware does one no good if the software needs a high-powered machine, when it requires 64bit architect, USB 3 etc..
  19. Pretty much SP or AP and 98SE2ME is the way to go.
  20. I have downloaded as well as uploaded SP3 to test the integrity of the pack which is 119 mb. No issues on my end.
  21. I have not tested the drivers on Win9x/ME. It works fine on my old dell latitude C600 with Windows 98 SE /SP3/98SE2ME.
  22. This is the one I use and it works great. Never had any problems. https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-USB-SATA-Adapter-USB2SATAIDE/dp/B000VS4HDM
  23. These are the latest for Win 98 SE, not sure if they'll work on Win 95. Give it a shot and report back. Thanks https://www.techtalk.cc/viewtopic.php?f=1047&t=390&start=67
  24. So the Broadcom drivers works for you in WinME but not Win98 SE?
  25. Yes, I agree with DougB 98SE2ME + U98SESP3 are an ultimate combination. If someone is willing to patch the english files for their native language, I would help them build a SP. You wouldn't have to patch every file either, which is a good thing.
