metric is much better then imperial, imperial makes no sense. metric is much better because most of it is derived from SI units which have special definitions so that the unit can be replicated anywhere except kilo is a bit funny because that lives in Paris. a megabyte will always be 1024 kilobytes its just manufactures and stuff that try to tell you its 1000 kilobytes i think

well im using a Compaq Board with a PIII 667Mhz but it doesnt detect my 80gb hdd as full size, so i havent put any extra hardware in it.

i was using my pc IBM Netvista Intel Pentium III 866Mhz (orriginally Intel Celeron 700Mhz) Intel 810 Chipset 320MB RAM anyway i was using it and it turned off while i was using it. now it doesnt turn on again, the powersupply is fine, ive taken most of the hardware out to try getting it to work but since it isnt powering up, when you plug it in the fan spins a little bit. i didnt smell anything or hear anything when it stopped working im guessing i need to get a new board though

awergh replied to computerwizkid's topic in Windows 9x/ME
not true, movie maker can be installed as part of 98se2me. admitedly you need winme to use it. but you want it for 98fe and there is an api missing in 98se but im not sure about that you should ask mdgx about movie maker because it works with kernelex from ages ago and it is part of 98se2me last time i used it -

S.O.S. Internet Explorer 7.0 soon Required? S.O.S.
awergh replied to legacykeeper's topic in Windows 9x/ME
well part of the problem with the ie7 installation is that every file init has an evil check for windows version. ie can be removed with 98lite i wouldnt think that Third party browsers would be that complicated because there not intergrated with the os -

i have some things to disagree about in that post the first 32bit processor was the 386 im pretty sure the first one was nt 3.1 even if you dont count nt3x nt4 was pretty solid but theres some interesting points in your posts about the lag between hardware and os support -

We're proud to announce: version 1.5! (3. September 2007) We have to admit, it was delayed a few times, mostly because we always had some new feature we wanted to implement in mind, but now it's finally here: we're proud to announce the availability of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5. This new version features a lot of improved detection mechanisms (which in parts were already made available through the regular 1.4 updates in the past months), improved Operating System support (Windows Vista integration, restored support for Windows 95, more compatibility with Wine, support for bootable Windows CDs), improved browser support (e.g. for immunization) and much more - you can find an overview of noticable changes and some screenshots here. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd15/index.html Downloads will be made available throughout the next days, and we'll try to keep the download mirror list up-to-date with who already has this newest version.
