  1. 1 - ULZ file is just a ZIP file renamed 2 - There should be no difference in SP-level "performance". You must have had some extra services/programs running.
  2. Same drivers, same BIOS, just a different "case" (AFAICT). Look in that Manual. DDO = Dynamic Drive Overlay Used to circumvent BIOS Limitations. Yes, DVD will work. Check your current BIOS version.
  3. OK, confused... google "presetup.cmd" "setuporg.exe"It appears to be related to DriverPacks and the "altered" XP Install may NOT be conducive to a Repair Install. A hint?
  4. To be clear... The purpose is to notify/move any/all items NOT in your "standard download/build" list? I say that because I noted some IE7 Updates (among others) in your UDC script. You wish to "generically" eliminate any/all "OTHER" files? I noted a tendency of some users of your Script to "include" stuff that should NEVER have been there and then wondered "gee, why did it fail?"... (still )
  5. O4CripeSake! I looked for it too for you. Yep, right there next to the USB folder.
  6. BIOS is there in the link. A program to test 48-bit capable exists. 150 ≠ 200, so (the "implied" reason I gave the link and recommendation of DOS-based)...

If we had one of those maybe it would be easier to find them...
  8. It undoubtedly keeps a LIST somewhere (I said that) and loops through ALL of them. That is EXACTLY why I said a Script may be necessary to get a SPECIFIC one. Why does it work that way? That's how MS wrote it... Two "options" a SPECIFIC.VHD or "All"...
  9. That will probably require some kind of Script to detect the Drive Letter plus trace back to the VHD file. The VHDMOUNT doesn't do that directly. Several "steps" would be necessary - /q - Displays the disk name of the mounted virtual disk device for the specified VHDFileName. VHDMOUNT /q VHDFileName | All "All" then a loop-through of the List "compare to Drive Letter" since the VHDFileName is unknown. Here is the source Article of your link above - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc708295%28v=ws.10%29.aspx ...and I guess you mean "Drive Letter" and not "Drive Key"... No time to Install, Build a Script, and Test the "Theory" right now. Maybe some other Script Experts here can help you out. One might "assume" that the information must be stored somewhere. In which case, this Topic is in the wrong Sub-Forum and should be under the Scripting one... Maybe here - http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/66-programming-c-delphi-vbvbs-cmdbatch-etc/
  10. Have you tried ALL of the Reg entries in the Link? You seem to be lacking a couple of critical lines.

Yep, this belongs in the Funny Farm!
  12. Take another look at the syntax for REG entries in the link. You're "missing" some characters...
  13. PIII or Celeron (probably the last Socket-370 version) - Intel 815E - PC100/PC133 SDRAM. Doubt if 48-Bit capable... better get another 120gb HDD (while they can still be found), use a DDO, or get a SATA Add-In card. A nice Dual-Layer DVD-RW drive would help a bit for off-line storage... I believe this would be yours? http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/dell-optiplex-gx150-piii/4505-3118_7-30062863.html Also here are Drivers/BIOS - recommend using the DOS-based BIOS updates (if you NEED an Update)! http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/optiplex-gx150?s=dhs Your Manual (has all the specs, etc) - http://www.dell.com/support/Manuals/us/en/19/Product/optiplex-gx150 Says 2-EIDE connectors...

Um, no, the IE8 Add-on is built directly from MS. There are TWO ".RAT" files and they are specifically for Internet Content Ratings and NOT "pr0n". Inside one (the English one, the other is Chinese) is this Website embedded. Go there and see what it says - http://www.icra.org/ Inside it specifically says I clipped it because MSFN would have blocked the words. The purpose is to allow IE8 to BLOCK that type of content, just like Google allows for it. Inside the IE8.INF file it specifically states Block your "pr0n" or don't within IE8 Controls, up to you.
  15. Bouncing a lot on the Sound Card thing, aren't you? http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Sound-Blaster-Live! Also see this - Seems someone else had this card. Looking at this to see if "fits" - http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&prodID=1853&prodName=Sound%20Blaster%20Live!%205.1%20Digital%20%28Dell%29&CatName=Sound+Blaster# edited here - nope - only XP/2K Can you give the Chip Name to confirm? Side note - a large collection here - http://www.mdgx.com/sbdrv/ also specs here (apparently where above quote came from) http://asounddrivers.forepeak.com/sound-blaster-sb0200-specs/ one on ebay (does NOT say EMU10K1X) - http://www.ebay.com/itm/CREATIVE-LABS-SOUND-BLASTER-LIVE-5-1-PCI-Card-SB0200-internal-tested-gauranteed-/251162460003 another that DOES say that - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Creative-SB0200-5-1-Digital-Sound-Card-Creative-EMU10K1X-DBQ-Audio-Chipset-/170929071580?pt=US_Sound_Cards_Internal_&hash=item27cc2aa5dc
  16. Hoping the CD/DVD drive wasn't on the same cable? Ennyhoo, apparently what was happening was the Boot Device wasn't getting properly recognized, the Other Devices were checked, then when all else fails, try ANY recognized (even wrongly ordered jumpered).
  17. OK, this is strange - I found this indicating the jumper on the HDD (I know, absolutely silly, but...) - http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Compaq-Elite-Pro/Evo-D510-pause-while-booting/td-p/421520
  18. Google xp "group policies" xls Please remove your email address... A Group Policy Primer - http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/policies.html More Info - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307882 Side note - GPEDIT.MSC is not on XP Home Edition. Can be "transplanted" onto XP Home.
  19. If you can get into the BIOS, it's not password protected. You don't have to enter one to go into it do you? Nothing gets "hidden" because of a PWD (AFAIK)... F10 = BIOS Setup F12 = Network Service Boot <-Does that work/have anything in it? AH! Found it! MAYBE "F12" allows for directly accessing... I found the BIOS Setup Manual. Get it here for free (just a CAPTCHA to enter) - http://www.manualowl.com/m/Compaq/Evo-D510/Download/107300 According to it, under the heading "Security" is Also note that AFAIK to enter the actual Intel Boot Agent use Ctrl+S (mine does that) to change any "options" - BEWARE of setting too low a "Time To Display Message" (I leave mine at 3 sec.).
  20. 1 - Can you be more specific? HOW did you do it and explain the highlited part.2 - Confusing... No, you can't remove IE via ADD/Remove. Is it "gone"? We need details and some symptoms.
  21. Just remove/disable it from/in the Boot Order screen in BIOS. Odd that USUALLY there's somewhere to Disable the Network Boot. It won't SPECIFICALLY say PXE since many Network Boot Firmware will have both RPL and PXE as methods.
  22. Two references - WIMGAPI.DLL via Google "System BadImageFormatException" site:msfn.org HTH
  23. The jury is still out... Two of the "lists" missing. Also noting here mentions of Windows8/2012. It certainly is saying the "file" isn't found. The OTHER "lists" use SOME sort of index to list them (see the TOP of that page - PHP). Why would one assume that you could list the "SPX" directory without some method? Renamed/moved? We seem to be assuming it's just... GONE. Waiting for jury to return...
  24. ??? W95-11D.ZIP - complete contents has date/time=2013/05/05 12:00am Until further notice by MDGx, extremely limited downloads. http://www.mdgx.com/form.htm
  25. Labels are irrelevant. Nothing AFAIK references them so they're purely cosmetic.
