  1. again the disk is busy and TVservice is slow to start. And you still haven't installed the performance updates.
  2. this happens when not all data are captured. Looks like you have a HDD issue. Scan your HDD with a disk diag tool from the manufacture.
  3. StartIsBack is the Win7 Startmenu for Windows 8: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/158666-start-is-back-21-release/ Get Aero back with this: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/161788-aero-glass-for-win8-rc4/
  4. Why was msfn down earlier this day? Still SQL database issues?
  5. when do others get the final bits? Will donate after getting the final
  6. Yes, hiding help is a good idea. I never used it. Also enable Run and admin tools.
  7. Install StartIsBack, the Aero Glass DLL and a Sidebar and you have a Windows 7.5
  8. ok, there is a large USB 3.0 driver spike: Total = 2592 for module nusb3xhc.sysElapsed Time, > 131072 usecs AND <= 262144 usecs, 1, or 0.04%Total, 2592your driver version is a bit old: Get an updated driver: http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm
  9. because there is no proper documentation about the Eventlog entries, I can't comment the data. I only trust the ETL files.
  10. both are fast. The default fastBoot uses 3.3s to boot to the UI and 3.4 to be fully booted. the normal boot takes 7.3s to boot to the UI and 7.7s to be fully booted. So both are now really fast. Use the default Win8 behavior and be happy.
  11. this is fine. Look a the border, there is a small glass effect.
  12. maybe because of the used Direct2D. Here is my log: [0x1624] Installing DWM hook...[0x1624] DWM: 0x000000000000010C, error = 0[0x1624] Module: C:\DWM\dwmglass.dll[0x1624] RemoteDLLName: 0x0000008543D40000[0x1624] WriteProcessMemory: 1, error 0[0x1624] LoadLibrary: 0x00007FFE12127728[0x1624] CreateRemoteThread: 0x0000000000000110 error 0[0x1530] Creating debug console...[0x1530] Hook (GDI32.dll!CreateRoundRectRgn from udwm.dll) installed[0x1530] Hook (USER32.dll!DrawTextW from udwm.dll) installed[0x1530] Hook (GDI32.dll!CreateBitmap from udwm.dll) installed[0x1080] DBGHELP: Symbol Search Path: .;SRV*C:\DWM\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols[0x1080] CTopLevelWindow::UpdateOcclusionHints hooked successfuly[0x53C] Uninstalling...[0xAB8] Installing DWM hook...[0xAB8] DWM: 0x0000000000000708, error = 0[0xAB8] Module: C:\DWM\dwmglass.dll[0xAB8] RemoteDLLName: 0x000000A99F200000[0xAB8] WriteProcessMemory: 1, error 0[0xAB8] LoadLibrary: 0x00007FFE12127728[0xAB8] CreateRemoteThread: 0x000000000000070C error 0[0xD24] Creating debug console...[0xD24] Hook (GDI32.dll!CreateRoundRectRgn from udwm.dll) installed[0xD24] Hook (USER32.dll!DrawTextW from udwm.dll) installed[0xD24] Hook (GDI32.dll!CreateBitmap from udwm.dll) installed[0x171C] DBGHELP: Symbol Search Path: .;SRV*C:\DWM\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols[0x171C] CTopLevelWindow::UpdateOcclusionHints hooked successfuly[0x1088] Uninstalling...
  13. MSFT now released the Windows 8.1 Enterprise ISOs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/evalcenter/dn237247
  14. the fastBoot is the default Win8 behavior with the Logoff + hibernate. I posted the command, too in my guide. I see that there is a small delay while entering the password. Do you use a local or MS Account? Also upload the new etl trace.
  15. what is still in BootExecuteList? I see this shows a 1.5s delay. Also InitializeRegistry takes 1.7 seconds. Btw can you also provide a fastBoot etl trace?
  16. for me it is the same. This is really slow.
  17. the SMSSInit phase is slow. I need the ETL file to see the cause.
  18. please stop all other DPC checking tools and give me a new file.
  19. it works fine if you use the right patch. You can try this bootloader: http://www.saferbytes.it/2013/02/28/saferbytes-x86-memory-bootkit-new-updated-build-is-out/
  20. wow, outstanding btw, latest version from attribute changer is 7.10E: http://www.petges.lu/home/attribute-changer-7-10e/
  21. latest IE updates often update uxtheme files. So when you use the patched uxtheme file this can cause issues: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2846071 Uxtheme.dll 6.2.9200.16537 661,504 21-Feb-2013 10:30 x86Uxtheme.dll 6.2.9200.20641 662,016 21-Feb-2013 10:42 x86
  22. there is a betetr way. Use this tool which uses a patched bootloader: http://www.saferbytes.it/2013/02/28/saferbytes-x86-memory-bootkit-new-updated-build-is-out/
  23. the dll sends so many debug calls to the cmd that some tools fail to work correctly. I removed it from my testing VM again.
  24. the traces show no issues. Higest spikes are between 256 AND 512 usecs. The only thing I see is a bit high CPU usgae of the Audiodg.exe caused by the Realtek driver DLL (RTKAPO.Dll)
